   This was our third time here and it was just as good as the times prior. The server was attentive without being a constant at our table and well versed in the menu. We will continue to dine here for as long as they are still here.

   I came for dinner last night to Bicyclette for the first time to celebrate my birthday. I first want to compliment the sommelier who was very attentive and did make an important suggestion to order cocktails or wine off the menu as the corkage fee is so high $75, that it wasn't worth the bottle of champagne I had brought. I respect that she let us know and gave us options. On the other hand, the food and service were quite mediocre. We ordered the onion tarte tatin which was the best piece of our meal, but the lobster was tiny served by itself for $46 (really), the mashed potatoes were watery, and the bouillabaisse broth was just OK. At the completion of our meal, we decided to not have dessert and end our mediocre experience. Our waiter knew it was my birthday and to add insult to injury, he brought me a candle by itself on a plate to blow out! Nothing on the plate with the candle, not even a piece of chocolate or a little amuse bouche, for example. I thought it was a joke at first and that something was coming to mark the birthday celebration but that was not the case.  I am writing to you about my experience as this was really an insulting end to a very expensive and mediocre meal. The higher level of quality and experience that is expected from the owners and chefs was non-existent. I was so looking forward to trying this restaurant for my birthday and unfortunately it was a complete disappointment. I do not plan on returning or recommending it to my friends. -- Nathalie Kakone

   This has become one of my favorite spots in LA. Feels like Chicago or NYC and has the best energy and consistency in great food.

   I was very much looking forward to going to this restaurant, because Republique is my favorite restaurant. Didn't live up to my expectations. Some menu items were great (caviar egg, bread & butter) but others were just ok.

   The food was mostly spectacular. The caviar egg, baguette, onion tarte, escargot we’re all so delicious! The mains were less impressive and honestly a let down. The bouillabaisse was way too fishy tasting. And the halibut was not cooked as described on the menu. Finally, we were really disappointed by the service. Our waiter was quite rude, did not give any direction for how to navigate a complex menu, and was quite pushy about the timeframe and order in which we built our tables order. Finally, several drinks took an excessive amount of time (30+ mins for an iced tea) and 4 requests with waitstaff to finally receive. Overall a good food experience, but wish the waitstaff was on par with the amount of money we spent.

    Food was very good. Had the oysters, French fries, escargot’s and the fish special. Everything was perfect. They provided a lovely birthday message on the crème Brulé. Finished with some Lovely cheese. Wine selections are abundant. And the sommelier.was super helpful.

    The baguette and butter to start the meal is a must. Shaved Brussels Sprouts salad with lardons was the favorite dish of the evening. Gougere was also very tasty. Onion soup was predictably good - but maybe a bit on the salty side. Service was spotty - the restaurant was very busy.

    The waiter asked if I wanted sparkling or flat…did not ask if I wanted tap…since he didn’t ask I figured they served filtered water, as nicer restaurants sometimes do, SHAME ON ME for not asking, I was charged for 2 bottles of water, $16, SUCH A SCAM. Gross. Yuck.

    We had an amazing dinner at Bicyclette on a recent Saturday evening. The food was phenomenal - the baguette was Parisian perfect, the salad was delicious and the filet mignon with mushrooms and sunchoke puree was incredible. Even the cocktails were yummy. With a tile floor, the room can get quite loud, but we had a corner table and enjoyed our time. We look forward to going back.

    Food was all terrific - we have the duck pate, squash soup, mussels and halibut. All were terrific. Plus a soft cheese for dessert. My drink was also terrific - something with tequila and mezcal. Our server was also very helpful in all respects. We will be back!

    Disappointing - the fish was dry, somewhat bland; oysters were excellent but the mignonette sauce was too small a portion for all the oysters and thin. A restaurant with this much pedigree and buzz should be far better.
