The service of the staff and the culinary skill of chef was superb. A bit austere due to COVID outdoor dining restrictions, but overall a fabulous dining experience..... highly recommend the butternut ravioli with sage browned butter, Ceasars salad with fresh anchovies, and Chilean sea bass ..... oh sooo good 🍷
The Bistro 13 restaurant is one of Camarillo's best kept secrets. The staff are some of the best! I've always had good food and a great experience there. I highly recommend it!
The service was wonderful, there are several people that check in on you through your meal and even the owner comes past to check in. Food was hot and delish... we sat on the heated patio.

We have been to Bistro 13 several times since the pandemic. They do a nice job of outdoor seating. The service and food were both very good, not excellent.
My husband and I went to Bistro 13 for the first time this past weekend. We were looking for something new and delicious. The reviews we read led us to Bistro 13. The reviews were correct. The food was fantastic and the service very good. My husband had the special ChileanSea Bass and it was prepared perfectly. I had the filet mignon and risotto . It was delicious (so were the left overs I got to take home). The only suggestion for improvement would be a little boost in enthusiasm by one of the waiters (seemed like it had been a long day). And while the dessert tray looked tempting, the person who displayed it turned it over with his/her fingers to put the cheese cake upright. We felt it very likely that these were just for display and the real thing was in the kitchen to be delivered to the table - nonetheless we decided against dessert because of the handling of the cakes. That said - will be return. Absolutely. Great night.. fabulous food

We were on a mini-vacation and found Bistro 13 on the Open Table app. I've come to learn that Open Table is probably the most accurate set of reviews anywhere, and with a 4.8 rating, we figured we'd try them.
Even with high expectations, we were amazed at the service, the quality of the food, the friendliness of everyone there - I can't say enough good things about this establishment. The hostess raved about the cauliflower appetizers so we had to try them - they were as good as described. My husband had the veal, which was outstanding, as was the seared salmon, spinach, and risotto dish I ordered.
We'll definitely be back when we return to town.
And would we recommend this restaurant to a friend? We already have!

We booked on Open Table and didn't see it booked us for only 2 people. It is a small but charming restaurant and very popular especially on a Sat. night. We had 4 people instead of two. I could tell the hostess was a bit worried as they were totally booked, however they were able to seat us at a very nice table and it worked out great. Service was primo! Food delicious and prices better than most top restaurants. I highly recommend.
This location is convenient to host company lunches and dinners. Giovanni, the owner has always been on hand to greet you and make sure all is well with our experience. Nice little gem in the neighborhood.
One of the best restaurants in the area. Friends drive from Westlake or even Calabassas to dine here. I often bring family and friends to celebrate or just have a great meal.
Celebrated anniversary of son and daughter-in-law Thursday, 12 December 2019. Son's Calamari Fritti and his wife's gnocchi entrees were top notch as meals previously encountered there. I had the mushroom risotto with filet mignon I had enjoyed before. The risotto was scrumptious. However, the meat was not as tender as one would expect for filet mignon. It was cooked satisfactorily, but may have been a bad cut. The most noteworthy part of the evening was the service provided by Cheyenne. She graciously attended to us as if we were celebraties. Her poise, demeanor, and grace were (are) exceptional.

The food was absolutely disgusting. The minestrone had hard veggies and the broth had zero flavor. The bread had no flavor. The filet was ordered at medium and came out so pink it could have been freshly cut from the cow. The three cheese pasta tasted so terrible I couldn’t even eat it. Pretty much the only thing didn’t taste bad was the butter noodles.
Great food! Elected to sit in area near bar, which was noisy. A little hard to have conversation between 4 people. Service friendly and attentive.
The moment we walked in we were greeted with smiles and our table was ready for us as per our reservation request. The service was great and we really enjoyed talking to our server as well as the owner.Food preparation was quick and delicious. We will definitely be back in the near future!!!

What a great meal. Food and service were excellent! We brought my parents here who live locally. They were very impressed and said they’d be back. Sadly, we will have to wait for our next visit to Camarillo.
Very nice restaurant in the Mission Oaks area of Camarillo. I had made a reservation for a birthday gathering using Open Table. The owner greeted us with open arms. He made sure we were all taken good care of while there. He visited with us and made us feel special. The food was very yummy but a bit on the expansive side. Most of us took home a "doggie bag" and had another good meal.
I did learn that Open Table charges a fee for reservations, and even if the number in the party doesn't show, the fee is charged for the full amount. I had two party members who had to cancel the last minute. I felt terrible that I hadn't made my reservation directly with the restaurant. I will never use Open Table again!
Their chef's talent for food preparation and presentation, the table service, and menu variety are in keeping with expectations of a high quality dining experience. Our party of three savored the flavors of mushroom risotto with filet mignon, blue cheese crusted filet mignon, and Bolognese lasagna each of which were pleasing to our respective palates. Pricing is commensurate with hallmark dining.
Giovanni, the owner is extremely accommodating, he will do whatever he needs to make your dinning enjoyable!!!

Excellent dining experience! A local gem. Greeted by Giovanni at the door and escorted to our table. Also greeted by staff along the way. Wine served almost immediately. Food was delicious. Our server, Lexi, treated us like friends and was very helpful. Low lighting and noise level create a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere that encourages diners to really savor their food. Highly recommend!
Sorry we looked forward to this, first time there for a birthday. My husband is Italian. Only thing we enjoyed was the caprase salad and the rolls. Spent a lot of money there and we wish we could say we can’t wait to go back, but doubt it. We really wanted to like this restaurant. Service was great, food was not 😕.
The only reason I didn’t rate the restaurant higher was because of its poor wines by the glass list, and a mistake with Open Table. The food was excellent, the service was good, and the ambiance was nice and not noisy, after a few loud people left. The restaurant has some sound proofing.
The wine list looked like it was put together by the local distributor and offered uninteresting, basic stuff, including White Zinfandel, which is a terrible relic of the past. They definitely need to up their game to provide a better selection to match the quality of their food, which is excellent. We had the soup, Gamberi penne, (gluten-free option, a nice touch) and the Salmon with Beurre Blanc sauce. Both were well prepared and tasty. We ended up sharing a small bottle of Prosecco. We know wine very well.
More choices of Italian wines by the glass (by region) would be the way to showcase Italian food and wine.
Unfortunately the restaurant was late in submitting that we had been seated, according to Open Table policies. When I phoned the owner, he referred me to the manager, who preferred to argue, rather than just check with the hostess to see if we were marked as seated with Open Table. He insisted that I was wrong - they just click a button when the reservation is made, not again when the client is seated. Restaurants use Open Table to keep track of no-shows! He told me he would call OT Mon and great back to me. I sent an email to Open Table customer service, explained the problem, and got the matter resolved on my own. This morning, the points showed up in my account, with a response from OT. I use OT a lot, (15K pts over time)and have not had a problem, even during their acquisition of Top Table in London, when they were combing UK points to OT’s USA accounts.
On the bright side, the restaurant has free corkage on Weds, so we can take our own wine. I’ll make sure to check with the hostess that we are marked as seated, and hopefully enjoy their cuisine again.
We wanted to find some place different to dine that was in between Simi & Ventura. Our friends live in Simi & we are in Ventura. My friend did a little research & decided on Italian. What an awesome dining experience. The only complaint was from my husband. His dish had too much oil. Oh well. What did he expect? That is why everything tasted so yummy! We will be back.

The Chilean Sea Bass was outstanding and the Risotto (side dish) was the best I've ever had, not to mention the excellent Caesar salad we started with. I have to mention the Lemon Drop Martini which Giovanni (the owner) made with fresh lemons from his tree. It was the best Lemon Drop Martini I've ever had.
This is my new favorite restaurant even though I don't live in Camarillo.
Every time we go to the restaurant we really enjoy everything. My only complaint every time we’ve gone the dinner salad is SUPER small..... 4 bites.
