We’ve never been disappointed!!

I love this place! The food is great and the staff are amazing. It’s a wonderful little French bistro in the middle of Washington, D.C. and I highly recommend it!

My wife and I had a very nice dinner at Bistro Cacao. The wait staff were excellent and very attentive. The food was tasty and the duck salami was both funky (in a good way), and delicious. The outdoor dinning was perfect - enough airflow to feel safe, yet warm enough to be comfortable.
Perhaps the best outdoor dinning location that we ate at in DC - among: Zaytinya, Duke's Grocery, Buffalo & Bergen, Jimmy T's & Hotel Washington.
Dessert could have been better - molten chocolate cake had a bit of a burnt taste on the outer edges.
Overall, great experience and we will return.

The food was excellent. They were very COVID-19 conscious which we appreciated.

My wife and I were here for our Valentines Day weekend and we really enjoyed the pre-fixed menu then but we wanted to try the full menu. This time we came for my mom’s birthday and it was an excellent experience. Pacing was good throw out the night, service was excellent, and all of the small plates and entrees were executed with great skill and character. We strongly recommend this location and if you ask for Ellie you will not be disappointed.

The environment is very friendly! The food was good o recommend to couples who just want to spend evening together.

Bistro Cacao not quite up to its usual self. Food was good overall but server forgot about one of two appetizers which was brought out as the main courses were being served. Patrons should also be warned that the outdoor seating is under a tent with mostly closed sides which to some extent defeats the purpose of outdoor dining protection during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Always a great meal at this spot and THANK YOU to the waiter who moved the table over for us despite them already being six feet. We so appreciated it!

As usual our meal was outstanding. When it comes to Bistro Cacao there is no better. The ambiance is charming, and the food to die for.

They have a very nice outdoor dining set-up. The wait staff is excellent and the food is always delicious. The drinks are great as well. They also have a very nice brunch on Saturday and Sunday.

Thanksgiving dinner was a little uneven. The scallop starter and lobster bisque were both delicious. The beef wellington was overcooked and a little tough - but the lamb chops were excellent. The molten chocolate dessert was not quite molten, but the pumpkin tart(?) got high marks. It was a warm evening so the plastic tent flaps could have been more open -- it almost felt (unnervingly) like eating indoors. If the place had been full, we might not have stayed -- even with the tables at a good distance. More air please! The heaters do a fine job and anyone eating outside now should know to dress for it!

Wonderful meal! This was our second time and they didn't disappoint. The patio was warm and inviting and we felt very safe given our current situation.

My wife and I go to Bistro Cacao every year for thanksgiving, we were a bit curious how it would go during the COVID restrictions but the outdoor dining was perfect and the staff did a great job keeping everything socially distant. The food as usual was excellent.

The food and the service were outstanding as always. We go to this restaurant every year for celebrations and special events, and we always have a great time here. The duck dish is amazing, and I'd highly recommend old fashioned drink here.

Our meal was excellent, as was the service. COVID precautions were being observed and enforced.

We LOVED it. Everything was perfect from the outdoor seating, safe in Covid times, to the fire pits for warmth to the delicious food and wine to our lovely server, Laura. I will definitely be going back for the steak frites again!

This is an extremely consistent restaurant that focuses on service and food quality. Everything is excellent and wonderful ambience inside and outside the restaurant.

The food and service at Bistro Cacao were both awesome. These days, the most important thing for me is how safe I feel dining out and the environment at Bistro Cacao was excellent. The tables on the patio were nicely spaced, and every staff member I saw or interacted with was wearing a mask. The patio is also tented with a partial wall and nicely spaced heaters, so this will definitely stay on my list as the weather gets colder.

I loved the motif and and decor of the restaurant. The space made a night out without the kids that much more special. It was different classy and personal. The waitress was attentive and courteous and natural.

Menu was limited and we weren't excited by the options. They lacked seasoning but the edible flower garnish was pretty. Drinks and service were great though..

We had such a great time this past Saturday night! I’ve been to Bistro Cacao a couple times before, but every time I return it still blows my mind. We had Sam as our waiter - he was knowledgeable, polite, and the perfect complimentary piece to a wonderful dining experience. We got the hanger steak and filet mignon. Hanger steak was delicious with caramelized shallots and some fries on the side. The filet mignon was the best steak I’ve had in a long time. The meat was cooked so well that it melted in my mouth and tasted like butter. 10/10 experience every time I come here. Will be back many more times.
