BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse - Oxnard

The main problem is I thought I had to have a reservation and it turns out they don't even take them! I waited until 8 pm to go to dinner based on what OpenTable said, never again.

Had a nice time. Good food and excellent service.

There is nothing more irritating than to be ignored when you're waiting to be seated. Clearly she knew I just walked in and was standing right in front of her. The hostess had her head buried and pretended not to notice and said nothing, not even a simple "Hello." When she finally acknowledge me after what seemed like an eternity, she looked at me like a deer in the headlights when I told her I had a reservation and asked me to repeat what I just said - ignored again. OK, so she maybe having a off day and is pre-occupied, but no reason to ignore a customer when it's so obvious. This is my favorite BJ's so, it was a bit disappointing, but the food was on-par as ususal so things were getting better until it was time to go. I asked the waiter for a "to go" cup for my drink. He brings me a mini-cup like when you get a salad dressing on the side. I'm dumbfounded again. There were no leftovers what so ever, just the drink so why a mini-cup? Clearly the staff here needs to be more attentive to their customers and listen to what they are saying. Are you listening management?

We went to watch the Dodgers. Had a reservation and noted that we were watching the game. They put us in a corner booth under a TV so you could only see it from the two outside seats and we couldn’t see another TV due to angle and distance. Then they changed the game to the Yankees on the TV above our table, the only one we could see and left every other TV on the Dodgers. When we mentioned this to the manager he said someone requested it. I asked if he could go look at my reservation because I made a specific request. He was rude and refused. We also asked if we could be moved to a spot where we could see the game (as there were open tables) and he stated those were reserved.

If I was in New York I could understand that I might not see my game in a restaurant even with a reservation. We are in SoCal, I should not have to worry about my request to see the Dodgers be ignored.

Server kept offering a smaller pizookie. Is it because she thinks I'm overweight? It also took forever to arrive. She left me sitting there for 20 minutes without my closing check. When I complained, she told me about all the other tables and how busy she was. The correct response is to say how sorry you are that a person was inconvenienced and that you did not attend to them quickly. Her tip was 0 as I felt I had to go up to the front and ask to pay so I could get out of there. She also forgot to post it to my rewards.

Table was available immediately. Great service and food.

Overall fantastic place loved the food felt like our server could of been around more to fill up our drinks but besides that great experience

Our experience with BJS was really good. They had our reservation all ready to go and our servers were really on point. The food was also really good and the food and appetizers were quick to come out of the kitchen.

We made reservations for 7. The table was ready when we arrived . Our server was attentive and the food was real good.

One of the members of our party has a peanut allergy. We put the allergy notice in our reservation. We also told the waiter. That member of our party had an allergic reaction after consuming her meal. We told the management. Although they were apologetic they told us we could have avoided this situation if only we had informed them of the allergy issue. We told them we had done our due diligence.

Blessings! Thank you for your staff being so quick to make us comfortable. It was a fantastic experience one that I will never forget.

We arrived a few minutes early. The table was ready and we were not hurried as we read through the menu. The waiter was attentive but not overbearing. The dinner arrived in a reasonable amount of time and we enjoyed a very well prepared meal. BJ’s is one of our favorite places to eat.

If you're looking for decent food at a decent price, this isn't a bad restaurant to go to. The noise level is a little high and there's usually a crowd so it pays to make a reservation ahead of time. The piezookie is great. My favorite is the white chocolate/macadamia nut one. The beignet is also a unique offering that tastes great if you're into cinnamon.

Server James was awesome. Food so good I’ll repeat same orders of phillie cheese sandwich and salmon en-lightened dishes !!

Great food great service.

Worse service ever had reservation for 7 arrived at 6:45 was told to bad your reservation is not util 7. Service was so bad we were there for over 2 hours. It took over 30 min. to get our desert even after talking to management. Management answer was just a coupon for a free pasooki next time . Don't think that will happen again not worth the wait won't be back.

It was my daughters 30th birthday and the waiter made it special. Thank you!

Overall, things were very good, the food especially.
Having a crying baby a couple of booths over is probably unavoidable, but it would’ve been better if it were adults only.
