Black Rock Bar & Grill, an award winning steakhouse specializing in certified angus beef steaks served on a sizzling stone. Due to our high volume and traffic, we cannot hold tables for parties like a reservation system. We have a system called Priority Seating. This system secures a table within our restaurant, however, it does not guarantee an exact seat by time. Priority is placed on your party, and if we are on a wait, your party is placed on top of the wait list as a priority. We will seat you as fast as possible, but cannot guarantee an exact time. If the restaurant is not busy, we will seat the party upon arrival.

    My husband and I went there for our anniversary and because of the option to have customers cook their own food at their own table the place was very Smokey. And then because we decided to give the black stone a try at our table…we left smelling like the food. We ordered an Alcoholic beverage and it didn’t taste like anything. Over all it was ok.

    Overall wonderful and we’ve been to some of the best in Columbus! Wasn’t a fan of the creole seasoning on the shrimp but had them remake them with the butter sauce and wow over the top! Also had the filet medallions, amazing!! The only other thing I’d say to make it perfect would be bread…..

    It was Mother's Day so I knew they were gonna be busy ,but it was a long wait compared to all the other times we had been there.The food was good not very hot almost like it had been sitting for awhile before we received it,our drinks took awhile to get to the table then they were missing one and didn't seem in a hurry to get it to us,again took a very long time to receive our refills.I feel for the money we paid I would expect a lot better then what we received.

    This was our first visit to Black Rock. Everything was amazing, our waiter was on it. He was quick to greet us and took care of all our needs. Restaurant was clean and food was amazing!!

    We had reservations and were seated immediately, we requested to be moved to a booth. The hostess went straight to the manager and we were moved. Our waitress was very attentive and our food was served in a timely manner. Everything was great! Love the experience of cooking our own food. The waitress explained things quickly and thoroughly.

    Priority seating isn’t really a thing. We arrived at our time and was told that it was going to be another 50 min to be seated.

    The food and service was excellent. The green beans need to be cooked more- they were almost raw. It is very noisy so hard to carry on conversation. We will definitely return.

    We celebrated my husband’s 50th birthday at Black Stone with friends. It was on his bucket list to order the 16 oz New York strip steak ($49.99). The appetizers were good, and my chicken was good. However, my husband’s strip steak wasn’t a good cut. The lower half of the steak had inedible parts of fat and sinew. He took the parts he couldn’t eat and fed it to our dogs when we got home. Not worth the $50 we paid for it. He said he would have gotten more to eat if he had gotten a smaller steak like our friends. He didn’t ask for another steak because we were enjoying the evening with friends and he didn’t want to spoil it with complaining. A manger never came to our table, which I would have expected after spending $100 for 2 meals. We probably won’t be back.

    First time to Black Rock. Enjoyed the whole dining experience. Service was good. The food was very good and we were surprised by the amount of food that we received to prepare at our table. Lots of fun cooking it at our table and sharing with each other. Would definitely recommend it and plan on returning soon.

    Call ahead seating was not as I expected! I have used this service with other restaurants and this by far was my worst experience. Reservation was 7:15 and we were seated at 8:45. The hostess had numerous excuses on why the 1.5 hour wait I.e., prom and a large event. 3rd and last time Black Rock will receive my patronage! Spending $300 on a meal for a party of 8 and the wait time will not happen again with this restaurant.

    Servers are very friendly. The steak is very good. We like the do-it-yourself on the stone method. The french onion soup is amazing.

    Food is over priced based on the filet that I got and that you have to cook it yourself. My wife’s salmon came out cold sent it back and still came out cold.

    Lovely service- answered all menu items confidently. Meal Was delicious. We got bruschetta for appetizer, steak and veggies and the black rock volcano for dessert. Definitely a sharing dessert - and still pretty rich. Unique presentation. Veggie servings were a little small. However there was lots of meat Always enjoy dining at Black Rock.

    This was our first time and for my husband’s birthday. We don’t live close but was well worth it! We got seated immediately, the service, food and ambiance couldn’t be better. We’ll definitely be back!

    This is our 4th visit and we drive 45 minutes to get to Black Rock. Of all 4 visits this was my wife’s least favorite as far as her steak quality was concerned. She said her streak was still good but not the quality of the prior visits. We did priority seating online with a 6:30pm time. We arrived at 6:13pm and were seated about 6:52pm. Not too bad considering the wait if you didn’t get priority seating was an hour to an hour & a half. We will definitely go back for another visit.

    Reservation was in the system, and time was honored as requested. Food was very good (except for Sweet Potato Mash that was not memorable), Service was OUTSTANDING ! All in all I recommend the place and encourage anyone to reserve via OpenTable.
