Black Rock - Utica - PRIORITY SEATING
The place was closed open table should make sure restaurants are open before you tell people they have reservations. I drove 40 minutes to a restaurant that was not open. Very disappointed in open table.

Reservation made through Open Table, for my wife and I to have dinner. Drove 45mins to this restaurant, just to find out their closed.
Open Table & Black Rock shouldn’t have allowed me to make reservations to a restaurant that is currently closed.
Totally upset my wife..
Our server Jess was wonderful. We were sad that it was the last night for in restaurant dining and we are glad we spent it at black rock!! Looking forward to when it reopens.

Wonderful food and amazing service
Management was very professional and hands on. I actually observed him helping a customer cut up their steak. My waitress was superb. Excellent customer service. We were celebrating my aunt’s birthday. They were able to accommodate additional guest in the same area on short notice. The food was excellent and served in a timely manner. Waitress offered great suggestions for the first time customers. My family really enjoyed the experience. We all agreed to return in the future. I highly recommend this location.
Had more lettuce in my salad than toppings but overall food was really good.

I got in the queue for priority seating, which doesn't get you a reservation, but will push you up on the wait list. Due to COVID, you cannot wait in the lobby. It was cold, so had to wait in the car. They never called. Went back inside, and they had the wrong area code for my phone number (mine isn't local, I think they put the local one out of habit). Once they recognized the problem, we were seated immediately.
Service was very slow. I would estimate 20 minutes from when we sat down to when I got a drink. The waiter was very friendly and did a great job, just guessing they were under staffed as it was pretty busy for a Sunday night.
Food was good but it is expensive.
While the steak is always amazing, the restaurant and service is typically subpar. For the prices, it should be a fine dining experience. It is not. The temperature was around 50 - it was lunch and they opened about 30 min before. It was freezing. The server did not write down our order so of course she had to come back and ask again. The soda was diet instead of regular. When she replaced it, it didn’t taste right. The lines probably hadn’t been cleaned in some time. The hostess was not friendly and we saw her act rudely to another customer who had been waiting in the lobby for some time for someone to greet and seat them. I had to find another waiter to ask for condiments bc of course salt and pepper is no longer on tables. Our waitress was standing at hostess desk chatting w a coworker. Overall, last three times we went, it was a very underwhelming experience!
