The food at Blackbird never disappoints. We went with several reliable favorites (chicken wings, whipped ricotta, meatballs, scallops) which were delicious as usual. We also tried the little gem salad which had an awesome dressing on it, the sweet potato anolini (suprisingly light and very delicious), and marinated cucumbers (these had a surprising kick of heat). We followed that up with the maple bread pudding with cinnamon ice cream and the cheesecake both of which were delicious. You really can't go wrong with the food here. The service was very good as usual.
Absolutely our Favor Local Spot !!! Probably Top 3 on long Island. Great Food, Amazing Old fashioned cocktail, Warm environment & Excellence Service. Frank the owner treat you like your part of the family. Highly Recommend if you are in the area or passing by ... 5 Starzzzzz
Always a great experience. One of our favorite spots for dinner.
Small place, small menu, big drink menu, excellent food & service! Definitely will return soon!
Very nice dinner
Drinks were skimpy for the price
It’s always a pleasure to go to this wonderful restaurant
Great atmosphere, staff were friendly, professional and accommodating. Food was fun and fabulous!
Though not extensive, the menu is fresh, deliciously prepared and definitely worth a try.
Great food, great service, people friendly place. Just an FYI... I would lessen the drink menu/booklet. Too many speciality cocktails, so it takes a while to read & choose.
Do a small plates dinner amongst your party. You will not be disappointed! Best dinner I have had in a long time - each dish is unique and special!
Great neighborhood eatery with creative cuisine. We've been here a number of times, some visits terrific, others less so. This time we decided to try the Chef Tasting Menu. We were not disappointed. We loved the Smoked Gouda Greuyere bites followed by the whipped Ricotta with honey on grilled bread. The marinated cucumbers were tasty as well, and the individual servings of both the scallops and tuna were spot on. My favorite was the sweet potato ravioli/anolini! As usual, their rigatoni over veal bolognese was really good, as were their meatballs. By the time the mains arrived we were almost stuffed, but we soldiered on, and finished up with orders of Cod over greens with a broccoli pesto and Filet Mignon with a mushroom bordelaise sause. The ONLY complaint I had was that the medium rare Filet was just a touch too rare for me. Just when we thought it was time for the check, we were served a slice of cheesecake and a slice of chocolate cake, both with ice cream on the side! A sweet end to a wonderful meal. Kudos to Chef Chris! Will definately be back again. Thank you Blackbird!
This was my first time here, and I’ve always been told to go. I was not disappointed. My friend and I ordered the ricotta bread, cauliflower, shrimp and tuna! All were delicious. Our server was super sweet too and was very attentive!
Blackbird Kitchen & Cocktails is a treasure. The atmosphere is perfect for a quiet, intimate dinner. The cocktail menu is extensive and unique. The menu has the perfect combination which offers several small plates to share or options for a complete meal. Definitely will return.
We had a great time. It was just my wife and I. The Tasting Menu was great, and they helped pair wine with it. I would definitely go again!!
Always consistently very good food. Full house on a random Wednesday evening in February - this sort of popularity is a real sign of a restaurant that draws people in. Relatively short seasonal food menu with tasty options, & extensive drinks menu with choices to suit varying preferences. I'll continue to return.
As always Frank is a gentleman and Chris is a great chef.
The new cuke salad was fantastic as well as the pasta and shrimp. All unique and different.
Service was great and the new cocktail list was spectacular.
The best food and great ambiance as always!
Great food! Great service! Great atmosphere!
Went to blackbird with my wife for Valentine’s Day. Food and ambiance was spectacular.
Love this place!!! Great atmosphere - great food!
Outstanding food, service and ambiance.
We loved it!!! The food is off the chart good! We had one of almost everything and loved every morsel!! The waitress was great so fun and charming.. They have a beautiful bar with a great scene, the bartender is funny and makes the most delicious cocktails so fabulous
I like that the menu changes seasonally. It's nice to try different items each time I go. Cocktails are unique and fun. I had the gin and tonic etc. etc. The spaghetti cacio e pepe is awesome! Always a great experience!
Our favorite place by far for sometime now! The food and ambiance is perfect. Friendly staff and Owner. Highly recommend
An absolute local gem. Creative cocktails, great small plates. Will definitely be back.
The food and service were excellent, I liked that it was adults only at the time we were in there. It was smaller than I expected, but we did not feel cramped at our table.
My boyfriend and I had a great experience here! We were seated right away, the restaurant is small but you’re not on top of each other and the noise level is low. Our waitress was great! We ordered the whipped ricotta and meatballs for our appetizers and both were so delicious! Whipped ricotta is def worth the hype. My boyfriend got the burger and I got the spaghetti, both great choices. Would definitely go again.
Always a great night out! Took some friends that have not been there before, they loved every bite and the cocktails were great too!
Love everything about this place. Always trying new things on the menu and they never let me down.
As usually food was amazing as well as everything else. Mmwwaah
Amazing food and fun atmosphere! Can’t wait to go back
Great food and service!
Outstanding as always
Drinks and food were good for a casual get together
The food is terrific and the service attentive. I would have given the restaurant 5 stars except the parking is a real issue. There is a severe lack of parking. A great restaurant in a problem location.
Excellent food & attention
Wonderful menu. Delicious food great service
Incredible - as always. Chef Chris is an absolute magician with his flavor profiles and Manager Frank is attentive, friendly and accommodating. An absolute MUST visit (time and again) if you value consistent awesomeness!! :)
The restaurant is a bit on the small side, our table was near the door (in the winter). The lighting is pretty low (probably so you don't see how tiny the portions are). Some things were appropriately priced while others were off the wall expensive for what you were getting.
Our waitress was very pleasant and upbeat, offering advice for ordering (which we were glad we followed). Food didn't come out nearly as fast as we'd expect, given the cooking time should be really short for such a small portion.
While somewhat tasty, the Duo of LI Duck ($26) was simply 2 small strips of duck (about 1"x1"x4"), a small splat of sweet potato with another 2 tablespoons of duck meat. Couldn't hardly taste any pomegranate in the molasses. Felt that was a rip off.
Much better selection was the Prince Edward Island Mussels ($12). Perfect combination of garlic, onion, and a few chili peppers. Either this portion is normalized to other restaurants or someone thought it was a double order. Very tasty, and had 2 pieces of bread on top, great for sopping up the remaining sauce. I'd get that again if I go.
I saw some orders nearby tables were getting... for instance the Spaghetti ($18). Description is 'cacio e pepe' on the menu... but that's just cheese and pepper. I don't think it was even a full pound of spaghetti, handmade there or not.
All told, 2 of us ordered an item apiece and a beer apiece, paid $56... and proceeded to go to Fridays to finish eating dinner. Really, I'm not kidding.
