Blackwall Hitch Baltimore
The menu is great, including good options for kids. Very exciting cocktail menu! Food was delicious.
Wolfgang and Cierra ( the shadow) did an excellent job !!!
They made periodic checks but weren’t overwhelming at all !
First time at this place but a very nice establishment
5/08/2021- Mother’s Day
The food was ok. The drinks were great. As soon as we sat down we were advised of the wait time which wasn’t that bad KC aidering.
Terrible Mother’s Day! Waitress rude, glass dirty, took 40 minutes to get our drinks, food came out cold, brought check and never came back for dessert order?
I booked a reservation for me and my mother to have a lovely evening dinner here at 7pm. We got seated on time, it took our waitress almost 10 minutes to come to us and even bring us water. We put in our appetizer and food together. The appetizer came out right away but our food took almost TWO WHOLE HOURS TO COME OUT.. we watched people who in before us and after us get there good. Our food did not arrive till after 8:45. I was truly saddened because I wanted my mother to have a lovely evening for Mother’s Day but her night was ruined.
Ordered an old fashioned at the bar while waiting for the table and it was one of the worst cocktails I've ever had. Poorly made, tasted terrible and way overpriced. Ordered the shrimp appetizer and when the dish showed up on the table with four lonely little shrimp on the plate I was extremely disappointed, especially for the price.
This is a restaurant for people who don't know good food and value. The place would appeal to those who see the nice decor, but don't realize how middle of the road the food and drinks are, they will go once and never go back -- just like me.
The service was awful. Food took forever. Would not come back the location in gambrills was much better.
Mother’s Day Brunch! Waitstaff was really nice, we had Tyler. The mimosa bucket is the way to go! The Baltimore skillet was pretty good, kinda dry. We had to send back the Baltimore Benedict because the egg wasn’t poached it was hard boiled. And then it came out sunny side up...
The crab dip is a must! Be sure to order extra naan, which they will charge you for...overall it was a good experience. Maybe I’ll try dinner next time.
Chris our waiter was a Rockstar!
Made my Mother’s Day a fun and memorable one. His knowledge of the menu was detailed and he madd us feel as though he really enjoyed his job and working there. The Manager greeted us at our table and we really appreciated that!
Great service and the food was terrific. A little pricey for what it was - and the breakfast options on the brunch menu were very limited.
Went for Mother’s Day and we had a great time. Our server was amazing. Margaritas were good.. shrimp and grits also good. Wish they had more extensive menu. Caramel cheesecake was delicious!!
Awesome and amazing date night the service was top tier.
Excellent food and service........................
It was really good!
My family and I decided to try Blackwall from all the good ratings and menu selections. It was my brothers birthday. We were very disappointed.
The host with the green hair and Disney tattoos seemed stressed and unwelcoming.
We got seated in a private room which felt very awkward. The table was very large, but we made it work. The room had a dirty dish rag next to the table, which led us to believe that the table was not properly sanitized. All we could hear in that room was staff throwing dishes and glasses into bus-tubs.
The server took a while to greet the table. She was clearly overwhelmed and we must’ve gotten seated outside of her section. She tried hard to provide good service, but she was clearly very busy.
The apps and entrees were good. Somewhat worth the value. The oysters were fresh and presented well. The scallops were over cooked and had too much char. MD Crab Soup came out cold and instead of just offering to bring out a new hot soup, my mom was offered to have it “microwaved.” That’s really upsetting because the reheat soup came out luke-warm.
Every dish that was served was backhanded and awkwardly reached over. The food was auctioned at the table by food runners and the host that greeted us. My elderly grandmother asked the host what the sauce was in her dish, and the response from the green haired host was “I don’t know, I’m not a food runner.”
We were never asked about allergies or the special occasion (noted in the reservation notes too). The server found out about the birthday celebration when everything was finished.
Not sure if a manager even came to the table to see how everything was going.
We will not be coming back.
I will always come here my server was wonderful i really enjoyed my self
Our friendly server handled our large party with speed and attentiveness. A few of the food items needed salt, but otherwise everything was high quality, fresh, and was a good portion size. My family had a great time celebrating my sister's birthday and I would definitely dine here again.
This was our first visit- visiting from NC - wanted crab cakes and soft shell crabs- food was really good and French fries were superb- service was good. Had a really nice Italian white from Umbria - great bottle value and really nice with the fried seafood. We ate between 8-930pm - not crowded on a Thursday night
Miss Texas, our server, was amazing!!!! The peach and burrata salad was one of the best salads I’ve ever had. Pan seared Chilean bass was to die for as well. I almost licked the plate clean!
I enjoyed the majority of my experience at Blackwell Hitch except for my interaction with the older hostess with the colorful hair. After we were seated I inquired about seats near the window since that section was available. When I asked about s 6-top she mentioned that the table was plotted and since we were a party of three I felt that was fair however when I inquired about a 4-top she said that same thing. She was curt when she responded. While my family and I dined at the restaurant for an about hour and a half I noticed that the two 4-top was not occupied the entire time. I don't understand why she couldn't give us that table. The last time we were at the restaurant my husband mentioned that she wasn't pleasant. She could benefit from a course in customer service. The other team members were great! Also, we ordered the chicken and waffles and the menu said that it came with chicken breast however when we got the entree it also came with a wing and leg which would have been fine if the leg and the wing had the same seasoning as the breast. The breast was seasoned perfectly but it seemed that the leg and wing didn't have any at all which threw the meal off. Both times we visited the food was great.
I was not impressed with the food considering what I had previously heard. The calamari was undercooked and the coating on it was wet not crispy. I ordered the Trident Broiler. Wrong moved and definitely not worth the $40. The meal laced flavor all the way around. Needless to say the best thing I had was the ice tea. Will not be returning to this location. Maybe the Annapolis Location is better.
Everything was delicious from the cocktails, appetizers to dessert. Great service and great addition to the inner harbor. Great for a family with young children as well
We were there for brunch & sat outside. It was a beautiful day. We did venture inside to use the restroom. It was clean and well stocked. The inside was buzzing with people. Amongst our table we had: crab dip, crab cake sandwich, shrimp & grits and chicken & waffles. The food was good and presentation was as expected. The crab cake wasn’t full of filler and everything was nicely proportioned. Only gripe was service. Our main waitress was awful! Inattentive, slow and forgetful. We were fortunate to have another server pick up her slack. We wish we had gotten his name or been able to only tip him. I continually have heard that service is poor, so keep that in mind. The restaurant venue and the taste of food are overall good.
a little pricey but your in the inner harbor and the food is really good. Drinks are on the pricer range for the size but delicious.
We were visiting from out of town for a dance convention and picked this place for the Moms! It was a fabulous place! The food, ambiance and the waiter were all fantastic!
Black Hitch is an excellent gem of a restaurant on Pratt. The food was superb with incredible presentation. Highly recommended. The Crew are personable, friendly, respectful, and professional.
The food I received was not as described on the menu. Chicken and waffles was to be boneless white meat when arrived it had all bone in and mostly dark meat and over cooked. The Martini I ordered was not as described on the menu when the server asked how it was I told her so. Manager stoped by removed the drink and just saide "I will take it off the menu". When the meal came server said the chef changed the chicken and that's what they're serving now. My guest ordered the berries and cream and when served it was a bowl of cool whip with berries submerged in it. it just felt like we were just another number. Get them in and out. Made me sad as I recommend it for a friend as I had been to the Annapolis one and it was great.
Overall, good experience. I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was good and fresh. The waffle was too thick for my liking. I'm used to light and fluffy. The devil eggs seemed to be missing something.
We knew Blackwall HItch from Annapolis and decided to visit the Baltimore restaurant with friend, as it was away from the stadium (Orioles Baseball) and i knw there was ample parking.
Made reservations online and seated immediately. Waiter took our drink and apps order almost immediately. Took almost 30 mins to get drinks. Placed an order for two burgers, a hour and 20 mins later still no food. We started watching other tables surrounding us who arrived later get their food. The waiter had an excuse for everything. There’s no reason why it takes 30 mins for a glass of wine and over and a hour and a half for a burger when the place wasn’t busy
Celebrated my pre birthday dinner and it was delicious. We even returned next day for drinks and it was just as good. Great service by Jennifer and awesome drinks by Giselle (bartender) Will definitely return on my next visit.
Good food and great service
Starting from the clueless hostess that really seemed lost, To the waiting staff who purposely avoided our table in order for us to miss the (made up) 2:45 brunch deadline.
Brunch was AMAZING. Came with the husband and 2 LO. Our server was Angela and she was great. Knowledge and funny . Shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles and Mezcalmarys were amazing.
Ordered 3 items which they had to come back separately 3 times that they did not have that item. Received our appetizers before our drinks came even though we ordered the drinks first.
Overall, it was a pretty good experience. However, the $15 to add jumbo lump crabmeat to a salad is not worth it, as it essentially came with about 4-5 pieces (which were neither large nor fresh tasting). We asked the waitress to see if the portion was the usual amount and she said the chef said yes, because they are portioned ahead of time. Waitress was lovely and attentive, but we were disappointed in the response and the lack of engagement by the manager until we specifically had to ask to speak to one.
I reserved for upstairs and I was told there wasn’t enough servers even though it’s people upstairs. 5 minutes later the gentleman sits two other parties upstairs. Overall good experience would of been better if I was seated where I reserved!
If you like exceptional service and fresh hot food please visit this restaurant! Our waitress went above and beyond. Every dish came out hot and the flavors were great. Must’s to order: flaming crab dip and the crab cakes entree.
Our server Chris was fabulous! So kind and attentive without being intrusive. Couldn’t have asked for a better first dining experience!
