Blackwall Hitch Baltimore
Best crab cakes we’ve eaten anywhere on the planet.
Went for thanksgiving buffet. We must of gotten there in between them switching out food. Some of it was cold but tasted good. The shrimp and oyesters were great as well as the meat selection. Overall the food was good just expensive for it being cold.
Food and service was just ok and certainly not worth $163 we paid with a compulsory 18% gratuity added for buffet service. We went for the Thanksgiving buffet and they ran out of soup and we had to wait 15 mins for them to get more. The staff on the carving station were not very attentive all busy talking about personal stuff and watching the TV. For the amount we paid I expected better then Golden Corral standard. Very disappointing I was so looking forward to the meal and recommending to friends.
A pricey venue but worth the cost. Great eats, great drinks, and great ambiance!
The food was excellent. The fried turkey was the best turkey I ever had. Everything was just perfect, and my family loved it. I hope they do this next year because I will definitely be making my reservation.
The Thanksgiving brunch buffet was very nice. There was plenty of variety and quantity, including both a deep fried turkey and roasted turkey. The dishes were prepared well. The salmon was especially delicious.
Our server was awful. He would disappear for long periods of time while our drinks remained empty. We had to send our appetizer back (crab dip tasted very fishy) and as a server, I would ask if my costumers would like something in its place. Ours did not. And we would’ve ordered something else had we been given the option. I was discouraged from ordering the chicken (apparently it takes 35 min from the time it goes into the oven) but my flatbread was tasty. Drinks are way overpriced for what you get. The location in Rehobeth is much better and we will keep our visits there from now on.
We had a brand new server that probably never had any experience serving... could not even open up a bottle of wine. Please focus on better training. The poor guy kept on apologizing.
Service was really bad. Waiter forgot one of our appetizers and never asked about the food. Barely came to the table to ask for drink refills or if the food was adequate. Took forever to get the wine. Took a very long to get the check too. Had to ask to get bread about an hour into the meal. Food was pretty good but won’t go back.
I would go back. Nice atmosphere
Crab dip and Chesapeake flatbread both delicious. Resteraunt delivered wrong entree to my wife. Then brought replacement but had ignored her request for no blue cheese which waiter had repeated back to us to confirm. Then brought wrong deserts. Hopeless. We won't be back.
Ordered the special and it was delicious, although my meal came to our table 5 minutes before my partners.
After picking my sister up at BWI we needed an easy place to get to
the food was great, but the best part was our server. What a delightful waiter, made our experience that much more enjoyable.
Not impressed with food. Wine list should have a few more mid-priced wines. Saw soft shell crab dishes on Open Table that was not on the menu.
It wasn’t bad but wasn’t anything I’d come back for
Specified that this was our anniversary when booking. They made no mention at all of that. Not the worst thing but drops your score to be sure.
I guess someone had two table numbers backwards. We kept getting our neighbors food and vice versa.
Asked for bread but it never arrived.
My wife’s pasta was great. My rockfish was not great. Sides were like warm. So was the outside of the fish. Inside was hot but overall the fish was pretty dry. Needed some sort of glaze or sauce to keep it moist.
I skipped Capitol Grille to try this place. Won’t do that again.
My very 1st experience in June 2019 for dinner was awesome food, service, ambience and experience.
Food was great, service was too
The highlight was how well our runner presented our flaming crab dip!
Oh and the crabcakes were amazing.
nice atmosphere; Great servers. The Food was delicious. I had crab cakes and they were marvelous.
Brunch on Sunday as we eat our way through Baltimore. Blackwall Hitch is close to the inner harbor and downtown hotels. The restaurant does not jump out at you while strolling, to it's disadvantage perhaps. Well worth investigating and a meal! We will return.
Fun night out with the young folks at work for doing a great job!
Just not that good -and very pricey. Seafood was very bland with not much flavor. Ordered a side of sautéed spinach which was bitter and tasted like it was only steamed.
Great date...service was great..food was excellent!! The flaming crab dip was amazing...presentation was EVERYTHING!!! My old fashioned was made to perfection!!! Overall experience was absolutely amazing...will definitely be recommending and going back very soon !!!!
The restaurant is very pretty - nice nautical decor! It is, however quite loud, perhaps due to the high ceilings and hard surfaces. We were seated quickly, but it took quite a long time to get a server to our table. Eventually a server came by and told us he would be back shortly. At this point we still had no water on the table. Eventually the server returned with bread but no water and we placed our full order for drinks, appetizers, and entrees as we were hungry - and thirsty! At least the server finally brought water. We eventually got our salad - but at that point i had to ask again about my drink. My drink eventually arrived - but was never refilled while we were there. Eventually we got a refill on water when our server brought our entrees, but we had to ask and it was slow.
Our salad was somewhat disappointing as we ordered the grilled peach salad and it had four small slices of peach that were cold and not grilled. The Chesapeake flatbread was tasty. However the crab cakes were solidly disappointing. Although they were a generous portion, there was almost no seasoning in them and the “remoulade” was a thin smear on the plate with the accompanying rice stuck to it, so you weren’t able to try it on the crab cakes.
All in all it was a fairly mediocre meal with disappointing service. At this price point in Baltimore there are definitely better options.
Nice atmosphere, food was well prepared, service prompt. Little pricey but not unusual for the location.
Food was great. I didn't like the wine, but that is not something the restaurant would be responsible for.
Brunch met my standards and Brandi I believe was our waitress was excellent as well .Will be back again
Great service. Great food prepared well. Nice decor and cool vibe. Comfortable and inviting. Loved it and would ho back.
The food was great! Seems like the waiter forgot us a few times. He was very nice young man but need to be more attentive. Table next to us (different waiter) came after and received their food and check before us.
Brandon is an exceptional waiter. He was spot on with his suggestions and we enjoyed our best dinner in Baltimore.
The parade was great with the butter herb. Then we are both ordered the shrimp and grits. I would say that was very very disappointing. First there wasn't a lot of grits in the bowl that gave us had was full of liquid with the grits. For my first time going to this restaurant I will give this restaurant are two out of five and that's being generous
Nice modern/harbor chic ambiance and large patio. Food -- we both had the Maryland crabcakes -- was tasty, although I've had better, and better remoulade, but it was tasty and nothing to complain about. Service was lacking in attention; empty water glasses, empty drink glasses, etc., had to ask for check and more to drink. Overall, I would go again, but nothing over the top amazing. Hostess was very friendly at entrance and exit.
The bartender on Sunday was great. He let me try a sangria cocktail that he made from scratch which was really good! The restaurant should certainly add it to their menu. If it helps I’m very picky with sangrias and this one by far did not disappoint. The pasta was amazing as well!
We enjoyd brunch at Blackwall Hitch. The food was good. The waffles and fried chicken were surprisingly good, as was the cheesy grits. My biggest and only issue was handling of allergies. i am deathly allergic to shellfish.
The Chef's pasta had shrimp in it but was not labeled as such. Thankfully there was one shrimp tail in the pan because otherwise they were all picked out and I was about to eat it. My husband and friends loved the option for crabmeat in their omelets but when I went to place my order he began making it in the same pan without washing the utenails, pan or changing gloves even though I clearly articulated my allergy.
I want to give special kudos to the gentleman who was at the carving station. He went above and beyond to explain my situation to the manager and ultimately my omelet was prepared in the kitchen. That chef even came by to assure me that she cut the vegetables and they were not cross contaminated. I truly appreciated both of them for their efforts! The carving station employee deserves major kudos for preventing what could have been a very bad situation for me.
Brandon was the best waiter ever. Very attentive and friendly. He also provided awesome recommendations for my guest that was visiting the area.
The service was superior. We had such a friendly waitress she was so happy to do anything for us. The food was very tasty and well priced. The manager came around and greeted everyone and asked how our food was. Over such a wonderful gem . Will defiantly come back on my next visit.
Very good food, atmosphere and service
This was my first time here as we wanted to try a new place to experience Sunday Brunch. Well, we got way more than we bargained for. The Brunch Menu was very extensive, hot, tasty and wonderful. Myself and two friends were very pleased. So much to the point, we had to take break in eating and resume accordingly. Our server, Wolfgang was superb, funny, accommodating and professional throughout our dining experience. We ate so much, we didn't make it to the dessert area to finish our meal. We most certainly will be returning again really soon. Thank You !!!
