Blackwall Hitch Baltimore
Terrible service terrible food terrible waitress just all around place not to eat.
Everything about this place was a good experience
Everything was great
Compared to the Alexandria or Gambrills location, this experience was subpar. I ordered the crab dip and it was not served flambé - I thought they just forgot to light it but I saw two other tables served without it either. They somehow ran out of deviled eggs for brunch (poor planning) and it took almost 30 min to get our drinks. The restaurant was clean and the hostess was friendly but our server was "just ok" but did eventually warm up a little. I understand the brunch buffet is a thing of the past but it sure did make this restaurant have a touch of class...not sure where it's heading now but I will note to consider other options first before making a RSVP here the next time.
Food was amazing. Staff was very accommodating. Service was good and staff were friendly; however the service was quite slow. Seems they were ready for the increased activity.
This was my 1st visit and from the door I was impressed. The industrial decor added favorably to the food! The food presentation was #Amazing! The calamari and Wings were great!
Brunch reservations for a table of five for a birthday. The good: the ambiance, the space and the bucket mimosas with choice of Prosecco or Brut and 5 flutes. Our waiter Chris was very nice; however given too many tables (even though it wasn’t that busy) or was busy doing other things so we did have to go search for him on several occasions. The bad: all of our food came out cold with the exception of the birthday girls salad. No condiments were given and portions of some of the party’s meals did not come out. We asked to speak with a manager who at first seemed a bit cold but did reorder all of our meals and comped a bucket of mimosas. Our meals sans lack of warm temperature was good, somewhat bland, but good. I won’t completely say it was a bad experience and will try them for dinner to give them a fair shake; however working on the customer experience should be a sticking point for them to work on. As a Baltimore foodie, this place wouldn’t make my top list, but if you are near the Harbor it’s an option you could consider.
It was late last minute and could not find a restaurant at all around the harbor. Was able to make a reservation at 9:30 for a table for two at 9:45. The place was packed when I walked in so was surprised I was even able to get a reservation. We were seated and our waitress was very energetic and attentive to our needs and wants. What made it even more impressive is the food was delicious, calamari was best I have ever had, and I have had calamari at several high end locations. Overall everything was great and had an enjoyable time.
Ambiance was a good deal more casual than we were expecting, given the prices, ratings, and "business casual" dress code. Happy Hour was on at the busy bar; the dining room almost empty. Was dismayed at the small menu, with paucity of dinner options. My partner ordered the Filet Oscar --one of his favorite meals. At BlackWall Hitch it was over forty dollars, yet it was one of the smallest filets he's ever been served, and the entree itself was mediocre. My entree of scallops and shrimp risotto was better, yet the risotto was gummy and there were only two shrimp and two scallops. We have no intention of returning to this overpriced restaurant on our visits to Baltimore.
Buns for crab cakes were stale, no tartar sauce- food was disappointing
This was our last dinner out as a family on Spring Break and I wanted it to be memorable and lovely. This met the mark. Ambiance was beautiful, staff was friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. Service was prompt and above and beyond expectations. Our server was Wolfgang and he was wonderful. Very polite, helpful, quick and skilled. Loved this place- would definitely recommend and will return!
The server was overwhelmed. She had to serve tables inside and outside. Our glasses were dirty and had to ask serval times for new glasses of water.
The food had very little flavor. Had to make many request to get a real level of seasoning to the dish. The wait staff was forgetful and not attentive. So had to send many request through other servers to get basic attention.
Visited on Easter Sunday and the service and food were exceptional!
It was a beautiful day for brunch
Decided to come to Blackwell Hitch for a Sunday brunch. We arrived around 10:30 and there were a few parties inside, but we decided to dine outside as the patio was empty and it was a beautiful day outside. Our waiter, Wolfgang, was attentive, quick, and friendly. We get a mimosa bucket for the 2 of us which was an ample amount. Next time I look forward to trying some of their brunch cocktails as they all sounded delicious.
We ordered the breakfast sandwich, which included bacon, sausage, egg, and fried green tomato, and it was delicious. Instead of potatoes, I got fruit on the side and I was happy to receive a good portion of berries instead of the usual mediocre melon and grapes that you get at a lot of places. My friend got the Baltimore breakfast skillet and was impressed with the dish; and they did not skimp on the crab!
Overall a great experience and hope to be back soon!
Our waitress Allegra was the best!! Very personable, made great recommendations about food and drinks since it was our first time dining there. She was efficient, kind and knowledgeable about the menu.
Excellent entrees and top notch service!!! Will definitely return next time we’re in Baltimore!
The entree I ordered was later found to be sold out. My second choice was very bland and not worth the price. Patrons were not adequately distanced, per COVID guidelines.
Our waitress, Keona (spelling?) was amazing! We came back a second day in a row for Saturday Brunch, just for her! She was super energetic, creative, and caring.
Our waitress was funny, entertaining, and awesome
The service was great and the good was hot and delicious.!
Great food and amazing surroundings. Our server seemed overworked at first but was later spending time talking with other tables. We saw him when we ordered and when he brought the check. We would have ordered more but he never came back to ask. I still recommend the place. Food was great!
Service a little slow. Hostess looked liked she rolled out of bed. Bathrooms not clean. Food was good.
Very good food/drinks and beautiful atmosphere. Princess was our server and she did a phenomenal job. Can’t wait to visit town again and come back!
Reservations was at 9:15, was rushed because they closed at 10pm. Waiter was not attentive and left for long periods of time only returning to remind us of closing time. Salmon was undercooked and had to be sent back! Not at all what we expected!
Very good service and location adjacent to the Inner Harbor. Unfortunately, the food and menu were mediocre.
My server Rob was so amazing and helpful I never once had to wait or go looking for him. He went above and beyond. From my event planner Darcy being helpful and making it easy I was glad I celebrated my Mother In Law birthday there.
Server was fantastic and only redeeming factor. The food was just okay. Not alot of option and nothing special, most especially for the price. Oysters 2.50-3.00 each and no discount for order by dozen, etc. Also found several pea crabs in them which is a turn off and should be cleaned out per standard by restaurants. First time I have experienced pea crabs at a nicer resturant! Left with $400 dollar bill (4 people with a 3 rounds of drinks, apps, entrees) which is fine but say ALL still hungry!!!
i've visited this location numerous times. each visit is as enjoyable as the last. Wolfgang is a Super Server!!!
Our table was pretty much ignored and food took a long time. We we didnt get any refills on our water and was standing up ready to leave waiting for the wait staff to get us the bill. Would not recommend this place.
Good food, yummy drinks. Maybe a little overpriced, but nice atmosphere. Our server Kiana wanna great despite being incredibly busy.
We dined here after visiting the Baltimore National Aquarium. It’s a perfect walking distance away (even walking in rain). We sat in the bar area & had Shakira as our server. She was fantastic! Incredibly personable and honest with menu recommendations. We started with the oysters which were priced very reasonable, displayed well and tasted great! Then we had the wings and saffron risotto. And the chicken Brie flatbread. The drinks were equally great. For a rainy Baltimore sad type feel of a day, this restaurant and Shakira perked us up!
The food and service was fantastic! Great seafood and it was so hard to pick one thing off of the menu. Such a neat spot for a nice dinner whether you are local or visiting the harbor. I highly recommend!
The food was amazing. I ordered the short rib entree with mashed potatoes and veggies and it was very filling. It was seasoned and moist. No complaints at all!
Hostess did not want to seat us at 715, said they were only taking their reservations bc they had a busy day (restaurant was fairly open) tried to sit at bar instead and they wouldn't seat us bc of COVID restrictions. As we were leaving I made a reservation online, turned around and walked back in and said I had a reservation and the same hostess reluctantly sat us while rolling her eyes. Upon sitting our waiter told us about how busy they have been yet was happy to make money. We ordered wine and apps, the waiter dropped the wine on the table and zoomed off without any sort of wine service. Was not starting out well, but he was attentive and nice. The food however saved this experience. Everything was delicious and the prices were good. Just a bizarre start to this dining experience.
The hostess was rude and did not communicate well. We were waiting to be seated when we had a reservation for a good 20 minutes. When all she had to say was were short staffed please bare with us. But instead she tried to ignore us. Once we sat down our waitress was great, very nice, accommodating and apologized for the wait. Took forever to get our food, but I can appreciate good customer service. I’ll be back and hopefully I have a better experience.
We were able to get a table very quickly after we arrived. There was a slight issue with open table's reservations: we were able to reserve a time fifteen minutes in advance and the restaurant did not have a table open at first; however, the host was very professional and kind. She got us a table in a timely manner. The food here was quite possibly the best meal I have ever. Jezell was our bartender/server. He was very quick, professional, and personable. Despite having multiple guests in the bar area, he provided superb service. This was our first time in Baltimore and we will definitely return to Blackwall Hitch if we are in the area. They are doing some great things!
Loved my experienced, the staff took pics and vids for my group which I loved!! The bathrooms were messing which was a bit of turn off and makes me think twice about coming back.
