Nice to have a great restaurant open on a Sunday evening in Columbia. So few choices other than chains. The food was amazing. They were out of one of our entrees so the chef came out personally to apologize and offer a substitute. That was a very classy way to handle it. I had the Brick Chicken and it was really moist and was some of the best chicken I've had.
First visit for brunch and will return. Being able to get a reservation is huge plus.
Great brunch. Great service
Good food but the service wasn't worth it. Went on a Sunday morning had had to wait about 20 minutes for waitress to take our orders then another 45 minutes for food to come out. We also ordered biscuits which had to remind the waitress to bring and she told us they needed to make more. While waiting we saw other tables getting biscuits who came after us- we still never got any!
We had an excellent leisurely breakfast. Great coffee. Great bacon. Great grits. Great eggs. Great french toast. A bit hardly find but worth the effort.
Great brunch! Super fun, yummy food & excellent service!
This restaurant is so much more than the pictures on here. Definitely not the normal diner you would think of. Super cute trendy vibe and very clean. The food was delicious, we got four different meals and they were all great! Our waiter was fantastic! Definitely make reservations because there were a lot of people waiting to get in. It is moderately loud which we didn’t mind at all and the food took awhile which was worth the wait. We will be going back for sure!
The Food was really good and we liked the atmosphere
The food is amazing, wish they had more variety on the menu. Great cocktails.
We really all enjoyed the experience and food. The staff was fantastic- from the hostess to bartender to manager to kitchen staff to our server. We had really positive interactions with everyone.
We loved every item we ordered (including craft cocktails). The fried green tomatoes over pimento grits dish was a favorite for all of us.
Everyone left full and happy.
Highly recommend ordering the brussel sprouts for appetizers and the scallops were excellent!
Bench was a little hard.......french fries were a little too salty..... but otherwise .......very highly recommend this quaint place (diner) 👍🏻👍🏻
This was our 5th. or 6th. visit always an enjoyable experience. Service is always excellent and today was a notch above. We’ll be back !
The staff here showed a lot of hospitality and the food is good!
Great spot for a casual brunch.
Classics with a twist! Delicious scratch made food at a reasonable price.
The seating was very close and very loud so we had some challenges talking to our friends that we drove 90 minutes each to meet in the middle. Food was very good.
Delicious, creative menu. The Brussel Sprouts were delicious! Everything was great and service was incredible.
Despite having made confirmed reservations through OpenTable in the early morning we arrived on time at lunch to be told they had unilaterally cancelled all reservations b/c they were "too busy". They had made no attempt to notify our party or make other arrangements. Such management carelessness and lack of concern for customers is disgusting. They are on my boycott list.
Lunch/breakfast has a better menu. French toast is yummy.
Just great overall experience. The food is like a gourmet dinner food. Try the hot chicken sandwich with some wonderful tomato slaw or if you’re going for breakfast - their waffles are fantastic! We loved our servers!
Came in for Sunday brunch on a recommendation from a friend with specific instructions to try the mimosas and the french toast. They were out of champagne?? So we ordered another cocktail which we did not receive for 20 minutes. The food was great as was our waiter.
Dinner was disappointing. Very limited menu! I had the meatloaf; it was ok but kind of dry. I tasted the shrimp it was excellent! The last issue i have is the noise coming from the milkshake blender. When it was running, it was so loud you couldn’t talk. Overall an ok experience but not great.
Took us an hour to get our food. Food was greasy and restaurant was so noisy, it was tough to have a conversation with the person next to you. Definitely not going back.
Great diner. Thank you.
We’ve read about BLD and the awesome chef inspired dishes. We love to eat, especially in Charleston, and BLD gave even the best Charleston restaurant a run for its money. My husband had Chicken and Waffles and said the taste combination is genius. Somebody knows what they are doing. I had Cobb salad and added Fried Chicken. All the ingredients were fresh and just the perfect blend with the exact amount of Buttermilk dressing added. Can’t wait to return and try one of the Benedict’s.
Our server, Matt, was very good at explaining the many choices and provided excellent service.
We will definitely return soon!
Great service and food!
Very friendly diner, great food, owner and staff listen to customers. Always changing to improve dining experience.
Excellent service and busy atmosphere. Scrambled eggs, bacon, mini biscuits are delicious! Patty melt sandwich would have been perfect but burger was overcooked and dry. Loved the marble bread.
Loved it! The service was outstanding.
Cute place. The food was filling and very good. We requested to sit outside due to the unpleasant smell. (It was a combination of grease and industrial cleaner....not good.)
We love the restaurant and food. Good service! Only problem is noise level! Thanks
I reserved an outdoor table but after waiting outside for my friend, I decided the weather was too hot and asked to sit inside instead. The hostesses and outside waitress quickly and cheerfully accommodated my request, and on top of that, our waiter provided exceptional service. My friend ordered a BLT without mayo and the waiter was thoughtful to bring an unexpected side of fries dip just in case she wanted to try a different sauce. As always, our food was yummy and great quality; we especially enjoyed the cucumber salad side for the first time.
The food was great as always. Server was very friendly and attentive especially since we had three young children with us. Fried chicken is second to none. A good drink selection. Soda pop for the kids that doesn’t contain high fructose corn syrup. Our leftovers were taken home in a cardboard container and a brown paper bag which I prefer over plastic and styrofoam. We will continue to dine here.
Bld is the best!! We love it here. Always something good for all!
Our server was a delight! The food was incredible and always love to dine home in Forest Acres!
The food was great. When we first got there they tried to sit us at the bar for Mothers Day. It took some complaining, but the owner stepped in (and some of the wait staff) and found a way for us to have a table. Then they were extremely focused on us having a great experience. The service was excellent and we had the waffle, the two eggs breakfast, and a cobb salad and all were fantastic.
Great place to celebrate Mother’s Day. The brunch menu was fantastic and well thought out. First time there but will be back soon.
Food was delicious even though there was an unexpected shorter menu for Mother’s Day. We had dinner after USC graduation .. they took us earlier after I called directly and accommodated more of our guests. That combined with the food made for a great evening. Chicken and waffle was very good as was the meatloaf. Thank you!
I appreciate your tip suggestions being based on the food cost -- not including tax.
