Excellent multi course dinner for a special occasion. Beautiful service and ambiance.
Surprised my wife for our anniversary
The staff here if amazing as is the food and drink
Delicious food, beautiful presentation, the wine pairings made it even better. The duck with endive and huckleberry was sublime. The server was attentive but was not intrusive.
An evening at Boka does not disappoint. Food, drinks, wine pairings, and service were all carried out with a thoughtful attention to detail. It can be difficult to find tasting menus for single diners. I was sat at the bar and received quality service that was on par with the service I observed tables receiving. I will be coming back.
This was one of the best meals I have ever had. It is right up there with Alinea, Ever, and Next. Chef Wholen is just spectacular! Our waiter Augustus, was great!
We did the 8 course tasting menu and wine pairing.
The foie gras and caviar with celery root purée came out first. Insanely good!
The hamachi crudo followed and then the black truffle cappellitte which was so incredible. It was filled with sunchoke purée.
My favorite dish was the black bass served in a fumet blanc with dill oil and the cucumber ribbons on top seemed like they were delicately smoked. So delicious!
The duck and strip loin were equally amazing and then the desserts to follow were unique and perfect to finish our exceptional meal!
Amazing! Great Service, we sat at the Bar and it was a great experience
Boka does it again! 8-course dinner and wine pairing was top notch and exceeded expectations.
The excellent food, but you should have more advice in selecting the drinks, Thank you
Everything was AmaZing.
Service in particular was excellent, amazing attention to detail!
Absolutely delicious and the staff was great about making adjustments to the tasting menu to meet our dietary needs.
I really enjoyed the 5 course prefixed menu. In addition, the restaurant accommodated our dietary restrictions such as I do not consume dairy and my friend does not like eat fish. They were willing to accommodate and that made our experience really enjoyable. The servers were really attentive and we did not feel rushed. This was a place we got to relax enjoy drinks and a long dinner.
Spectacular experience, from start to finish. I left very full- so worth the splurge. Service, food, ambience - perfect!
Everything was great! We were a little bummed we were charged for water. Other than that, Boka knocked it out of the park!!
The food was so well crafted and each bite perfect. The first 4 wine pairings complemented each dish as did the last but the final wine, a port was a bit predictable. The other wines were so different and interesting, I wish the sommelier picked something equally so for the finish. Overall it was a sensational meal.
Absolutely amazing evening of an 8 course tasting with wine pairing. The food was superb! It was a little noisy- I expected a quieter atmosphere, but overall it was an AMAZING experience. Will most definitely return.
Fantastic front to end !
We went to Boka for my birthday and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was very attentive, the food was beyond amazing and they made me feel very special on my birthday!
Food and service are excellent.
One small critic: the light level is a bit too low and the temperature could have been set a bit lower.
Lovely ambiance and very tasty food! Everything is good and worth going.
And now the ‘but’, I found out it has a Michelin star?!? Then I expect more…. especially the service.
Excellent food. The 8 course tasting menu was diverse and very flavorful. The food is certainly worthy of 2 Michelin stars. Would definitely go back again when visiting the area.
Very bland and meaningless. This was a cartoon meal with a lot of descriptive words and no substance. Amazing that this place is able to stay in business. Beware.
Boka is a world class restaurant. They made exceptional gluten free modifications that my wife enjoyed as much as I enjoyed the standard preparation. If you are looking for an unmatched dining experience I can highly recommend this restaurant.
Wonderful 8 course tasting menu for my wife's birthday with our daughters. Great service, great food. Second time there. Highly recommended
We did the seven course tasting with the wine pairing for my husbands 40th birthday, and the the food and service were absolutely spectacular. Each meal was well thought out and was beautifully paired with the wine. Option size was just perfect to be able to finish all seven courses, but be Left just full by the end of the meal.
best food in Chicago. unclear how or why any one would ever go to Alinea when this is right there and so much better.
Boka was really satisfying as always
Really below expectations, food overly sweet, dark place with no possibility to see what you eat, strange mixture of bar and good food restaurant.I would not recommend it!
Amazing food. The duck especially!
Always a pleasure coming here! Love the menu and seasonal flavors . Food was a little cold when it came out but they did an excellent job heating up quickly.
I chose Boka for my birthday celebration and it was absolutely outstanding. From the creative and delicious dishes, to the impeccable service, I could not have been more thrilled. Boka went out of its way to make the night special for me; I look forward to returning to try the tasting menu!
Excellent food, but served lukewarm. Desserts excellent.
It was absolutely amazing!!!! Top restaurant in chicago by far!!!!
Great food, great people! Great value
Fantastic dining experience at Boka! The crispy roast duck is outstanding and is the best I’ve had in the US, beating many I tried in NYC. Boka lives up to its Michelin Star with delicious complex flavors in every dish. Fantastic service for a wonderful meal.
We LOVE Boka - it's our 2nd time coming back since Covid hit. The food was incredible, but the overall experience - a little disappointing. Not the end of the world, but definitely something that needs attention/training.
We were a table of 2 couples, wanting to try the 9-course Tasting menu at $165/person, we had concerns whether they'd be able to accommodate our food restrictions. (I am sensitive to dairy/eggs and one other guest was sensitive to dairy.) Our waiter had assured us that it would not be a problem. However, a problem it was. The very first dish that was modified for me, ended up being given to my husband. And out of the 8 courses, the plates were given to us incorrectly EVERY TIME there needed to be an ingredient modification. To a point of us asking, "are you sure this doesn't have eggs and dairy?" and then having the waiters switch the plates....
On top of it, we had asked for earl gray tea - but were served English Breakfast instead... As a very passionate tea drinker, it was a no brainer for me to tell that the tea was NOT Earl Gray (it's the ONLY tea I ever order... We had asked the waiter whether this was indeed earl gray, and his comment was "oh, did you want earl gray? this is English Breakfast, but we can make you earl gray" .... Then the tea comes back out, but it's brewed soooo strongly that it's impossible to drink without diluting it. We asked for some hot water, but the waiter had offered to just dilute the tea in the kitchen.... When he brought it back out it was still super strong.... Enough for at least 6 cups, once diluted (if brewed properly.) Yes, we, tea drinkers are snobs when it comes to having that cup made just right. (As many coffee drinkers would probably agree, when it comes to having that perfect cup of espresso.) At the end of the day, the food was still outstanding, but these little hick-ups definitely impact the overall experience. Especially when you're walking out with a $1,000+ dollar bill for four.
Staff were welcoming on arrival, and there was a warm and buzzy atmosphere. The service was impeccable, the food was outstanding, and the cocktails inventive. The sweet potato Agnolotti appetizer was excellent!
El Pato mas delicioso que he comido en mi vida! Súper recomendable
We had the eight course dinner which was fabulous. Perhaps next time we will also do the wine pairings but it gets pricey in a hurry!
