The food was hands down the best seafood I have ever had. If you are not a seafood fan there are only a few options for you to eat. Very little variety with their signature cocktails.

Delicious, fresh food that can’t be beat. The staff was friendly and helpful, and it made the meal a great experience. We also appreciated that they were taking the new compliance rules seriously, and we felt safe and comfortable while dining.

Prompt courteous greeting. Waitress was super cool and attentive. Food was on point. We all agreed that the Fish sandwich, burger and chicken sandwich were excellent. The fireplace and cozy interior added to an awesome experience. We will be back!

We loved Boone’s! We celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday there. Staff were so friendly and accommodating! They gave us a really nice table for the occasion, and we had Ethan as our server. We both loved our meals! We got a popover to split which was yummy with the blueberry jam. I got the 3 course dinner with the half baked lobster which was outstanding. My boyfriend got salmon and said it was one of the best plates he got out. Thank you Boone’s and staff on making our night special!

Great service and good food!

Loved the appetizers and dessert, dinner was good. Great vibe. Beautifully decorated, lighting, fireplace and cozy lounge area. The tables were well separated due to Covid. Would love to go back someday to enjoy the bar and cozy fireplace area.

Good happy food, a little expensive

Weeks ago I had made a reservation here for 645pm but moved it up last minute to 4pm since I was done with my walk and getting cold and hungry. Once I was seated (at a six person table) I realized that it was still happy hour for another hour. Needless to say that fact influenced my ordering decisions 😂 $1 oysters that are usually $3.95 each? Ok I'll try oysters for the first time, gimme five of them. Some of the best calamari I've ever had and another new experience of steamed buns filled with shrimp. Delightful!

Great room, great service and great food. How can you go wrong.

The stuffed lobster and lobster roll were so good! We had the 3 course special and had clam chowder and Caesar, both awesome! The creme brûlée and blondie were also lovely. Our server did a great job, and the restaurant is decorated beautifully for the holidays!

Very disappointing. Happy hour..3 out of 4 appetizers were out. The service was terrible.server took an order and never came back.somebody else brought the food and a check at the end. Not recommended

When you advertise yourself as the birthplace of baked stuffed lobster.............you should probably have that in stock! It was a Sunday night in November and there was no one else in the restaurant but they had run out of the stuffing mix they use for the dish. Absolutely ridiculous. Also, I get that it was a slow night but come on guys, you might as well as told us you were closed when we walked in.

Absolute worst brunch spot ever. They have a small brunch menu to start with (understandable given the times) but the Eggs Benedict options are all served on popovers-- sounds great until you get them and realize they are old and tough. There was a green mold spore on mine so was clearly many days old. They were gracious abotu it when I showed the server, and the manager came over to apologize and took it off the bill but the ingredients in question didn't instill any trust that a do-over would yield a better result. We're definitely not going back.

Amazing oysters and stuffed crab. We topped it off with a great French white vino and the bread pudding. I wish I could do it all over again, but alas was just visiting Portland! I’d go back again in a heartbeat! Service was great - fast and very friendly!

We felt a little rushed but I think that was due to COVID rules in place. Always love Boone's for drinks and appetizers, the food was good!

The evening was a great time and the atmosphere was vibrant with a sea port New England theme.

We were out of town, and heard of this place. We enjoyed dinner here.

One of our favorite places to eat when we are in Portland.

Boone’s is such a staple to Commercial street. Amazing, fresh seafood. The oysters, baked stuffed lobster & blueberry cobbler are created in old school Maine fashion. The fireplace friendly staff & fantastic food is a must. They even found an amazing port wine to pair with my creme brûlée - amazing!

The staff, from the hostess, to our waitress, to the chef/cook they were awesome. The food was excellent, stuffed haddock is to die for, and the fireplace was a nice touch as well. Overall great place with a great staff.

It was my first time visiting Maine and, with only two hours to do so, I was determined to have a lobster roll before I left. Boone's really delivered. Fresh lobster with warm butter tucked into a fresh roll? Yes, please! The fries were perfectly crisped and well-seasoned and I enjoyed it all with an Allagash White. The service was courteous and kind, the location was comfy without being pretentious. I wish I had more time to explore their menu and when I get the chance to return to ME they will be a first stop.

The menu was very limited. The server said they were transitioning to a new menu the following day and the listed items were all they "had left." It felt like we were being served left-overs. The food was mediocre and maybe thats why they only had these items left.
On a positive note, the ambiance with a warming fireplace was very welcoming on the chilly, rainy evening we were there. The server was attentive to all our needs.

Overall great restaurant. My main complaint is that our main course came out lukewarm, and our dessert, a creme brûlée, which was meant to be warm on top but cold within was also very cold overall when we received it.

We had to leave as the kitchen staff all had their masks around their necks and it was just not respectful of the time we are in. How could we feel comfortable eating their food!!

We had a great time in Portland and at Boone’s. We originally had reservations for 6pm, but traveling with hungry kids, Boone’s was flexible and was able to get us in a bit earlier. The service was great. The oysters were FABULOUS! My husband and I were very happy with our lobster rolls and my daughter loved their macaroni and cheese. The only thing that was a bit off was the over charred burger my son had. But seriously, the fries made up for the over done burger.

If you’re looking for a view, maybe ask for a table upstairs, because otherwise, you don’t see too much. But overall, great spot with great food and service!

Waiter said I don’t really care, to everything we asked. The seafood Newburgh Was over a pop over that was a lump of dough. The Newburgh sauce was flavorful, and had A skimpy amount of seafood. I didn’t think the portion was large enough for the price that was paid. ($33) Two scallops one piece of haddock two small pieces of lobster meat. There was no shrimp. The flank steak meal was extremely tough. We should’ve sent it back but for some reason we didn’t, because the waiter just didn’t care. While we were eating we notice the kitchen would put plates ready to serve, on the counter the wait staff would go over and touch the food without gloves. Then wipe their hands on a towel. Then when they needed to wipe spilled food on a plate they would use the same towel they just wiped their hands on to clean the plate, before serving the meal. This is disgusting at any time, especially during Covid it’s more so. I do not recommend eating at this establishment. Mediocre overpriced food and unhealthy hygiene practices.

Food and service were outstanding

Very disappointed in the food. The shrimp/fish appeared to be previous frozen, unthinkable for restaurants on the Maine coast. My wife’s steak was ordered medium and came raw on the inside and still cold. Peering into the kitchen, the cook had his mask under his chin. Sad that we wasted one of our precious dinner choices while in Maine on this place.
