Bottle & Glass Inn
A dinner date for two due to the kids being away for a few nights.
A little gem of a pub and food never disappoints as you get the same quality of food all the time.
The out order pizzas are a hit with kids and they can’t wait for trying the burgers.
This place has high quality service, food and the venue has a feeling like home.
Love the new burger barn, the B&G team just keep getting better! They're so adaptable and couldn't be more impressed with their post-pandemic business
Love the new Burger Barn. Lots of space, amazing Burgers. Phillimore fries are a must try
Setting is like being in a conference room, despite the gorgeous exterior of building. Service was poor, delivering warm champagne and missing food items. Food was average, bream delicious but steak overpriced (£32!) and artichoke soup was thin and vinegary. Real shame.
Such a wonderful set up and delicious food and drink offering! The barn is really pretty.
We would have loved to have had pudding if it was on the menu... maybe we’re just greedy though!
Lovely space in the barn but the burgers could be better. Maybe cooked over coals. Need to be juicier to get more flavour!
We like the B and G but feel the standard of cookery has deteriorated from really good to average.. the service is good but the food is lacking finesse. Fish was slightly overcooked and my starter salad needed a more flavourful dressing. It wouldn’t stop us coming but we liked it more pre lockdown.
Wonderful Sunday lunch - really enjoyed the food and wine - great atmosphere - attention to C-19 restrictions - we are vegetarian and the chefs were able to accommodate a ‘roast’ and it was really fabulous - thank you!
Had visited twice before but this was best and really nice.
Really good food and bit different. Great evening. Be nice not to have run out of only sharing dishes by 7.15 but that may be supply chain in current environment
Newly renovated with a swish new restaurant. Still sells proper beer.
Service friendly and efficient.
Good food, good quality ingredients, it would of been nice to have a little more generosity with the Cabbage and the sauce that came with the Venison, but tasty and nicely cooked. Service very good with current restrictions considered. Would have liked a better table , seating awkward as on an L-shape bench. The wine was very good.
Food was just wonderful, great great place for me and my family
Wonderful food great service. They made the 30th birthday very special.
Underwhelmed and disappointed. Food was served within 3 minutes of ordering, and it was barely warm. Unfortunately the roast potatoes were dry, and a very small serving of accompanying veg. Luckily the roast beef was perfectly cooked and beautifully tender. Service was distinctly average - I wasn’t asked once how my meal/food was at any point. We had to flag someone down for the bill - no offer of any more drinks or dessert. Can’t say I’d return.
The good reviews for this pub are well founded! My wife and I had a fantastic meal there on a rainy Sunday, lamb roast was incredible (and huge!). Will definitely be back here again!
Everything was great. From food to service. Highly recommended.
We had the private dining area. It was a brilliant area for a family get together.
Couldn’t find menu online otherwise might not have gone. More of a dinner menu than lunch. We chose the deer but it came with barely any vegetables. Very small plate of food. We complained and they brought us more veg and some potato wedges which made it much better value. The food was very nice.
When the next table came in, they were very close so we decided to move over to some sofas to have a coffee. The coffee was the smallest we have ever had and each cost £3.50. Service was added on to the bill as well which I always object to.
I had been to the Bottle and Glass before for Sunday lunch which was excellent but we were disappointed on this visit.
Fantastic food as always and very good value for money. On a par with Michelin star quality food. Excellent service in a friendly and cosy environment
We have just moved into the village and we’re recommended The Bottle and Glass. It certainly didn’t disappoint, the staff were very welcoming, great ambience, felt very safe with the spacing between tables and most importantly the food was yummy, thank you.
I have dined here several times and never been disappointed. Not the cheapest place to eat but always well presented and appetising. Staff are attentive and helpful without being over zealous.
Sent 2 starters back and main, poorly cookee food, hard pasta overcooked £32 steak.
My husband and I were on our rare week night out without the kids. This must have been our first dinner together as a couple since lockdown. Bottle and Glass Inn staff are a superb lot who look after you. The food was superb. We had the venison and trout. Both sublime. Highly recommended! We would be back soon again!
A lunch spoilt by the foul language that could be heard coming from the kitchen. The language used was appauling and totaly inappropriate. The waiter however was wonderful and one of the best servers I have experienced. Fish and chips was good.
Lamb was excellent. Unfortunately the vegetables were not. The carrots were tasteless and watery and the cauliflower cheese had so much cheese and butter it was inedible. They really need to do something about that. Staff are always very nice and atmosphere is good.
Pizza in the tent at dusk with fairy lights- lovely!
Great food, lovely to sit outside and for Social Distancing to take place. Seemed to be a little light on staff.
Friendly, happy, relaxed, the service was prompt too.
Fantastic location and lovely setting.
Food and service were excellent and the ambience good. Will be coming back soon.
Good covid measures etc which were appreciated, but fairly average pizzas for the price (limited toppings and quite stodgy; very few options of flavours too), plus felt extra cheap given the covid related paper plates etc, so that it didn't feel worth the cost. Beautiful location, and generally a good pub, but quite poor value for not very exciting pizzas. I would recommend the interior but not the exterior pizza option.
5 star rating for the puréed mash alone.
(The rest was also 5 star...)
Thank you. X
Well organised, so as to be Covid secure.
Venison excellent; pasta - too much olive oil and filling indistinct.
Very nice food and excellent service. Will be back.
Really disappointing. Been wanting to go here for a while, live locally and have been to all the other pubs for food. We took a friend and our 1 yr old. Welcome was warm and friendly, however as soon as orders were taken the staff disappeared and seemed to struggle with the 5 tables that were in and had to constantly flag people down if we wanted another drink. Even had to move the plates ourselves (as did another of the 5 tables that were left) Obviously things aren’t exactly the easiest at the moment though but given the amount of staff there it should have been a doddle.
Biggest issues were the fact my wife’s fish and chips had to go back because the batter was cremated on the outside and totally raw inside which was a mega shame. Then the one that came back re-cooked was exactly the same (Presumably cooked in too-hot oil)! Given the price that’s pretty unforgivable.
We then ordered some “Vegetable dips” for the little one and what turned up was less than half a carrot and some yoghurt dip for almost 5 quid. Which is ridiculous.
My friend and I had the Roast lamb for two. Which was incredibly tasty. Really nice. Expensive for Sunday lunch (almost 35 quid for two courses, plus 5 supplement pp for the lamb) and the roast potatoes were obviously cooked much earlier in the day and had dried out.
All in all, a pretty disappointing performance and I’m a bit sad about the whole thing. Shame. Should have had the pizza out the front.
Sat outside in the pub garden. Lovely stone baked pizzas and great shaded marquee! Noisy families with lots of kids running around the tables. But what you can expect on a Sunday. Overall great!
Delicious pizzas in a lovely sunny garden - only 4 choices but a good size - had to take home what I couldn't manage in a box!
Disappointed with the roast beef. Service reasonable but a little slow.
We had a fantastic evening from the minute we walked in. On arrival we were greeted warmly and the staff recognised it was a 40th wedding anniversary celebration.
Katy G was our host and was very attentive throughout the evening. The food was excellent and timely with generous portions.
My wife was disappointed with the steak at £32.00 it was only accompanied by chips.
It did not impact our enjoyment of he evening and we will be back soon. This was our third visit and it did not disappoint.
One final note was that Katy deducted one of the cheeseboards as part of the recognition of the anniversary.
Thanks again for a very memorable night.
Thanks very much for a relaxing al fresco pizza. Will definitely return😀
