5 Course Braddon Merchant Experience
The Braddon Merchant Experience is a 5 Course selection of our best dishes. Designed for the whole table to share, at $79 per person or include our sommilier's top wine matches for $129 in total.
It is out third visit and we are getting impressed every time. We took our guests from Sydney for dinner. They had a very high expectations and were impressed. We had entrees and mains with a beautiful wine. The wine selection is great.
The specials were to die for! All 4 adults had different dishes which were perfect. Out of 4 kids, one 9yo had an adult menu and was super happy. Other 3 kids licked their plates after kids meals.
All staff was great, friendly and accommodating.
The table was in a very private location cleverly separated by the light cabinet. We felt very special!
Wait, we are going back for Bradon Merchant experience
I had a lovely evening with a friend, spending around 4 hours eating and drinking at the Braddon Merchant. The service staff were friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. We were gifted a free cocktail at the end of the night.
Food was excellent - absolutely. Restaurant felt a bit like we were steps ahead of them clearing up to get ready for breakfast buffet with the kids. Service varied from excellent to just ok. Would we go back? Yes. Definitely- if the price offer stayed the same - $79 for 5 courses - and maybe a different table a bit further inside might feel a bit less buffet-like. Wine glasses on the shelves and olive oil or whatever for sale was a bit bistro-like. Felt like it was trying to decide itself what it was ... hotel buffet or five star restaurant (which the food definitely was).
We had a breakfast booking for a few weeks but when we arrived we were seated on the end of a large table that another group was sitting at. Not socially distant and not what I expected with a booking. I asked if we could be moved to another table and they did accomodate that. Food was overpriced, we added extras like bacon or sausage and the portions were very small for an extra $8. Also the juice was $8 so I expected it to be freshly Squeezed but saw the waitress opening a nudie juice bottle and pouring it into a glass. So that was a bit disappointing... the food and coffee quality was good! Splitting the bill seemed to be very difficult for the manager and it took a long time to pay.
Great service, great food, excellent sommelier. Would come back again.
Be prepared to spend $$$ here. Had breakfast for Father’s...... limited menu. The seats are so hard; off!
Overall the wine was lovely and the entrees were okay however I think we were quite hungry so they tasted better. The mains were not very good unfortunately and very big. The staff were a bit slow and seemed like they had a lot on their plate although it was very busy.
The service was poor, the maître was on her phone continuously throughout the night and the waiters were trying to compensate for her.
The food was a random match of favours that seemed like it didn’t know what it was trying achieve or know cuisine it was. The styling of the food was nice but needs some refining with flavours, sauces and textures. We went with high expectations and left feeling very flat and disappointed.
Great service and food. Extensive wine list. Convenient location ... we were staying in the hotel 😁
Food was absolutely delicious and the wine paired perfectly. The staff are all wonderful and have so much knowledge. Will keep coming back again and again.
Dinner was great, however acoustics were challenging. For a food and wine dinner I think it would have been better to have The music More low key. As a table of 4 it was hard to hear one another talk. But we had a heap of fun on the night, food was great and we bought wine. Thx for having us
Absolutely amazing food and service beautiful ambiance.
Its still a nice experience to be able to get out for dinner these days- the Merchant was light & airy & lots of buzz - service was a bit erratic - water offered but we had to ask for a wine list - whilst we werent in a rush its always good to get the wine sorted - the menu is short & there was no mention of any specials - the home made bread was yummy & our meals were very good - dessert however was somewhat uninspiring - but definately worth a visit & i will come back when the weather is warmer
We decided to have the chef-inspired five course experience with wines. It was wonderful food and great service. We had a lovely dinner date.
The food quality was below the expected for a small menu.
We did the 5 course degustation with matching wines and were not disappointed. Great food, great wine. would certainly recommend for anyone looking for a special dinner within a relaxed setting.
We had an amazing time, the food was incredible and the service impecable. Thank you so much for a very memorable evening!
This place does not disappoint! Excellent food, service and atmosphere! The staff was nice to talk to, so down to earth and very informative on the food and wine. You will feel very welcome at this restaurant. We look forward to our next visit!
The food was particularly poor quality, wine list was ok. Ambience was ok but Vista is concrete retaining walls
Food was yummy but service very patchy. Dessert (frangipane cake thingy) was dry and bland. Good wine list though.
Excellent service and restaurant staff were very knowledgeable.
Great spot - the food took a while to come out, but was very good when it arrived. The service was exceptional. Will be back for sure.
We dined at Braddon Merchant just after they re-opened after pandemic shutdown. Service was excellent (and appreciative) and the food served as a 5-course degustation experience was amazing.
Had a wonderful night, an excellent showcase of local food and wine, not to mention the excellent service. Definitely going again.
Great looking restaurant with even better food! Highly recommended
Great place, people and food!! Highly recommend it.
Whisked in and without even being able to order a drink we were told we were getting the Chefs choice menu. The food was terrible, lacked taste, and it was clear that they used cheap cuts and choices (ox tail, chicken thigh, and a pimped up choc chip cookie for dessert) The staff and chefs seemed more concerned about going home than good service! Sorry guys, but there’s a reason there are alway free tables!
While there was only a fixed menu - 5 course chef selection due to just reopening post COVID - it was great value @ $70/person. Great selection of wines which the waiting staff had in depth knowledge of . Really enjoyable night.
We had booked brunch with friends after a long shutdown period. Booked for 9.30am. At 9.15, we get a call from the restaurant to let us know that the kitchen closes at 10am so we will need to order by 9.45 to get the orders in. We are on our way there when we get the call.
We arrive and are asked for coffee orders. No sign of menus so need to ask for them at 9.40am. Coffee takes 20mins to get to the table. We order. Scrambled eggs with sourdough and Pepe saya butter, bacon, tomato. Our friend asks if an omelette is possible. Yes. She is asked 3 more times how she would like her eggs cooked.
Eventually breakfast arrives. The scramble is tasty but very loose and only just set. The ‘toasted sourdough’ is a thin slice that looks like it comes from a supermarket. It is barely toasted and there is no butter to be seen. We have to ask for butter, but it is pointless as the ‘toast’ is cold and inedible. No one checks on us again. No one asks if we would like another round of coffees. Our bill is unceremoniously dumped on the table. At $30 a head this is overpriced and unappetising. We won’t be coming back.
The restaurant lacked any atmosphere & the food was trying to be clever but didn’t hit the mark. Due to COVID restrictions lifting they were running a set menu of 5 courses. One of our party doesn’t eat seafood but they didn’t replace his two seafood courses with anything else. Rather disappointed over all.
Nice, stark modern environment. Ambitious menu but scallops would have been better on their own or with a vegetable accompaniment. Also a bit bread heavy. Good olives and steak, in particular. Good wine list.
The service was excellent, but not the food. Coffee was great too. The bacon and egg rolls were tiny, really tiny. Tasted good, but not worth it. My wife asked for gluten free, but ended up with stomach cramps all day and into the evening, it wasn't gluten free. And the omelette was very dry. I'd recommend going somewhere else!
Attentive waiters who knew their stuff and who were aware of special dietary requirements listed online. At last a place that actually gets the information and wait staff are aware of it! Tasty food reasonably priced too.
My partner and I had the best anniversary dinner at the Braddon Merchant. Nothing could have been better, it was truly an experience to remember. The food was outstanding and the service was exceptional - including a special glass of champagne on arrival and even a specialised six course menu. Highly recommend, will definitely return!
We had the Braddon Merchant Experience for $55 per person. The food was very nice - good value for money. The wine selection is good too.
Nothing short of fabulous. We had the chefs pick which involved $55 per head and a huge number of dishes from across the menu. The wine list is extensive.
On arrival we were not aware of the seafood content of the set menu for Valentine’s Day, having to change to the vegetarian menu - but this was the best thing we ever did!
Each dish was incredible - well presented and delicious. The zucchini flowers in particular were fabulous and the lime meringue was bursting with flavour.
The staff were lovey - nothing was too hard and everyone was happy to talk about the food and check how we were going.
I would thoroughly recommend Braddon Merchant as it was an amazing dinner out!
Do not confirm so many times it 4 in the end and annoying
Excellent service, incredible food and lovely atmosphere. We had Valentine's Day dinner here and it was wonderful.
Beautifully designed environment and incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable staff. We went with the $55 set menu which was ample food for 5 guys. Great wines available and insightful staff to select the right one. A great addition to the restaurant scene.
