Asparagus risotto, poached in vanilla bean butter
Sous Vide New York Strip Steak
Crispy smashed yukon potatoes
Grilled Filet Mignon
Garlic mashed, haricot vert, bernaise sauce
Super good aged sirlion with an amazing demi-glaze sauce. French fries are to die for.
Food was wonderful, waiter was great. Dining outside was perfect. The restaurant is social distance and follows all Covid safety measures and felt safe and comfortable. Chris the owner was wonderful making sure everyone was happy with their dinner and service. Thank you for making our night a wonderful experience.
Great food - good social distancing and procedures - great service and attention to detail
As regular diners at Brandl, we continue to be impressed with tasty food prepared with flare and served by the energetic and attentive staff. This visit we sampled the prix fix menu; the Tuna Au Poivre was served perfectly rare, seared and spicy. The Garlic Steak was so tender I barely needed a steak knife. Be sure plan ahead and leave room for dessert - whether you choose the chocolate raspberry or the seasonal pumpkin soufflé, you will want to enjoy every bite!
Husband and I went for the early bird Pre-fixe menu. We sat outside on the patio as it was still warm out. Everything we ordered was delicious! The pre-fixe menu was good value for what we got as the portions were good. We also ordered a salad to share which was split in the kitchen. Our server was great as well. Overall a lovely evening out!
One of our favorite restaurants!!! Our first visit since COVID. Really missed the place. Paul the manager and our server (can’t recall her name ☹️) were attentive and personable (as expected)!!! We had the Beef Brisket and the Chicken Parmigiana. Both were expectional in taste, presentation, and in portion size! Well done 👍!!!
By offering a varied menu, both Early Bird and the daily menus, diners have wonderful choices to choose from. My family and I have had countless meals and have nver been disappointed. From appetizers to desserts, Chris and his staff have never ceased to amaze us... When making our reservations, we always look forward to what will be presented to us each and every time... Can hardly wait to return again and again!!!
Still dining outside but the brave are starting to go inside considering temperatures are falling. We had the brisket special which was tender and melted in our mouths, something you don’t see on many menus. Brandls as always pushes the envelope and it shows in the creativity and quality of its dishes.
Brandl’s food never disappoints and the staff is excellent. If you are looking for a romantic dinner with GREAT food and BYOB you will not be disappointed.
The food was average at best. We were a party of 3 and no one enjoyed their meal. My husband had the filet mignon and at $42 expected a better cut of meat. I had the chicken Milanese which was tough and flavorless.
Second time at Brandl’s and my last.
Wife and I both had the steak and shared the burrata. She had the filet and I the garlic steak. The steak was not very good and overpriced. We order the soufflé as well and that was bad.
Kids playing in the courtyard and noisy.
What can I say. It was not good and we will not be back.
$150. Two people. One appetizer and desert.
Always creative and delicious! Service was efficient.
Good food, good service. Nice place to go too for dinner.
Great spot for outdoor dining! Nice menu; food was delicious; waiter was terrific.
Brandl has made their courtyard dining cozy and charming. Paired with exceptional dishes from appetizer to dessert & attentive staff we give it 5⭐️ all around
Went with friends really good food and service
Everything was excellent - from the food to the service - we had a wonderful experience!
In our opinion, this is probably the best restaurant in Belmar. The variety of food dishes appeals to almost everyone and the service is incomparable.
During this time of COVID it was a relaxing experience that was safe in an outdoor environment. The food was hot and prepared to perfection.
Always loved this place. Our first visit since pandemic. We got a reservation outside. Servers were lovely. We always knew that this restaurant was $$$, however, the portions seemed to have shrunk. Lazy lobster (40.00) seemed a lot smaller than in previous visits. Also creme brulee, used to come in a ramekin cup, now in a tinfoil tart cup, so half the size I'd say. Food is always very good and service is top notch. It's expensive to begin with and I guess we felt as if we didn't get the bang for the buck.
Certainly for the food. Need for service their prices call for.
Delicious dinner from appetizer to main course to dessert. We loved the Early Bird specials, but were so happy we decided to add to the choices we had made. We've never had an unpleasant meal and always look forward to our next return...
The only reason i gave this a 4 was because my lettuce wedge had 2 leaves that were brown. I have never had that happen before.
We ordered the steak for 2 on the bone and that was totally amazing.
We would absolutely go back but I would never order the wedge again !
It was not what I expected..
My wife thought hers was excellent. I thought mine was good so I split the difference on the rating. There was a wedding reception on the night we were there and I believe it hindered the overall situation. I asked for medium rare steak and got medium. The asparagus I ordered were standard fare, and not as the menu described. Had to ask for salt and pepper and was brought a spoon full of each. No dispensers, spoons. They had no bread - probably the wedding party got it. My wife's order was perfect. Cooked as she requested. Might give it another shot but there were other restaurants we we went to which were superior to Brandls.
Nice outdoor eating area and very accommodating service.
That is the good newsl The bad news is that the food was only fair. The lobster bisque had to be returned because it was tasteless, salty and lukewarm. The onion soup was mostly bread.
One wild boar chop had to be returned because it was too tough to cut; the other was ok...and the garlic steak was tasty but also very salty.
This was not a cheap meal so, in my opinion, the quality did not live up to the price
Great outdoor service. Early bird special was a great value
Best food ever… We had a tomahawk steak special and shared it with three people it was so delicious… The Thai shrimp was unbelievable… I can’t say enough about this restaurant I just love coming here
Service was good. Food was adequate, nothing special, small portions. My husbands steak was ordered medium and was over cooked. We don’t mind paying for a great meal. This one just wasn’t worth the money.
Meals were very good, and very much enjoyed sitting on the outdoor plaza. Would eat there again, but likely only for special occasion.
Service and ambience great. Food sub par. Too sweet. Too garlicky
My favorite restaurant but first time I have dined out since the covid pandemic. Ate outside where they have turned their plaza into a very pleasant environment with proper social distancing and proper etiquette by the staff. The food remains cutting edge and original. Very very tasty.
Food was great. Service was lacking. They took our bill and credit cards to process had to ask a number of times to get the bill after cards were processed I would say about fifteen minutes passed if my husband didnt go
In and ask for our bill would have probably been another 15 minutes. Hostess was very nice. Owner Not engaged. We asked if he could open the wine open his answer was your waiter will do it who was no where to be found.
Food is always excellent at Brandl. Tables are spaced nicely so you don't feel like you are on top of other diners. Service is good.
They nailed it I had the Lazy lobster and my husband had the filet delicious The ambiance was great
Amazing food. The tuna tartare, bisque, garlic steak and...THE LAZY LOBSTER were packed with flavor!! Soufflé is a must order.
I understand Covid has changed the way we dine out and seating is limited. I made reservations well in advance for 6:00pm Friday eve knowing Brandl had outside sidewalk seating and a covered attached patio area. We had some serious rain come through between 5 & 6:00pm. I called to confirm they were still open at 5:50 and to say we were 6 minutes away. I asked if we’d be on the covered attached patio and the woman on the phone said yes, a couple had just got up to leave. We arrived in 5 minutes only to be told she gave our table to someone else. She gave us 2 options, to wait for patio seating or sit at an outside table that was wet from the rain. She said a table was on dessert and if we’d like to go wait in our car, she’d call us when it was ready. I hate to say it but 6 days later we are still waiting for the call our table is ready!! Funny but the truth is we never got a call. At 6:30 I walked up to the restaurant and saw a new couple sitting at the table the hostess said would be ours. I didn’t even ask. I went back to my car and opened up OpenTable to find a new restaurant. We saw Cubacan in Asbury had a table. I called to confirm and they said the would hold it for us for 10 minutes. We get there and there was a great table waiting for us! That night the 2 of us spent $100 on apps, dinner, dessert and a good bottle of wine! I’m so glad I made the choice to go spend my money elsewhere. Somewhere that appreciates a customer who does the right thing by calling and confirming and at a restaurant that delivers on a guarantee, a reservation. I can honestly say I will never patronize Brandl after the way we, our reservation and confirmation was treated by them. All they cared about was putting a wallet in the seat. I cannot recommend this restaurant! GO ELSEWHERE! Go to Cubacan in Asbury and have a great dining experience!!
My husband and I love Brandl’s early bird menu. This week we chose the following offerings, jumbo lump crab cake for each of us, my husband had the blackened tuna with garlic mashed potatoes and mango salsa. I selected the garlic steak with Mexican street corn. Our food was delicious. The crab was a nice portion size and the red pepper coulis was a nice complement with a hint of heat. The entrees were prepared perfectly. The steak was a nice cut and very tender. The new side dish, Mexican street corn, was a nice change and tasty. We rounded our meal with S’more’s Cheesecake and Creme Brûlée, both scrumptious. A wonderful experience, kudos to the front of the house and the kitchen staff.
