Good food, prices were high but food good.
Waaaaaay over priced for what you get. My food was okay at best. Definitely not worth 30 dollars a plate.
Service by Alex was an embarrassment and then he decided to get personal and bring my son into a conversation with my friend as they went to high school together. Will never come back to The Bristol due to Alex; Zara and Chris were outstanding hosts and managers for him to look down at me and take our drinks away without asking and then to insult us by saying there wasn't much in there. Not his place to decide when we are done with our food and drinks; his service was so poor we had 1 1/2 drinks each in about a two hour window at the bar.
Thank you Zara for listening to us; didn't mean to put you in a tough spot but want to say thanks for stepping up and doing the right thing. Those "customers" at the bar who felt it was their right and white privilege to engage in our conversation, should have turned away and minded their own pathetic business and evening. That "lady" who said I was lucky her mom wasn't there; that made me laugh so hard like I should fear her mommy. Her husband is a weak one for sure as he wasn't man enough to stand up to an old man and get up off his chair as he knew that wasn't a move that he would be able to back up his words with any actions.
Great food for sure; had great company but the evening wasn't ruined but sullied by Alex and him being an immature young man that wanted to get personal with me and I don't have any clue now or in high school who he is. Thanks Zara; keep being a leader and someone that will do the right thing.

This was Restaurant Week. Our section was not crowded but close to the bar, which made it louder (not a problem). Our server was nowhere to be found most of the time. We were there for about 1.5-2 hours mostly because of waiting on the server.
The food was great, except my steak and wife’s steak came out raw and was supposed to be medium.
The shrimp wall gone and was really looking forward to having shrimp.
The waiter seemed flustered, but overall did a good job.
Service was fantastic. Although for an 8:30 pm reservation. We still were not seated until 8:55 pm.
Great atmosphere. Waiter wasn’t too friendly but he had a lot of tables to tend to. overall great experience.
Strip steak was second to none. Cooked to perfection. Creme Brulee was the best I have ever had. Definitely worth the money and then some.
We had reservations and waited over 20 minutes to be seated. I have been dining here on business for years and this visit the quality of food was not up to previous visits.
The dessert was ordered Togo and was not in one piece once arrived home.
Good food good services. Our server was very attentive and took good care of use.
Had a delightful evening with friends for restaurant week. We will definitely be back. OMG the biscuits and whipped honey butter to start was incredible! Our service was impeccable. We got sat behind the wine storage and felt like royalty. Our server was a young black man. I forget his name but he was fabulous, accommodating, and playful. We will be back for sure!
I had a wonderful time during restaurant week! Our server, Brittany, was outstanding! And funny! And do as she suggested - get the Cre'me Brulee' (sp?)!
I know it was restaurant weekend, but it was super busy. A lot of mask-less people. At one point there where people cheering or singing. I understand, how do you stop this but I am watching my body for any signs of Covid after this visit. My waiter kind of sucked. I had to wave him down for each refill. Just not the Bristol I have experienced before.
We were there on a Thursday night during restaurant week. Even with COVID restrictions, a nice steady crowd, but we never felt uncomfortable. Plenty of social distancing. Service was top notch and the food was amazing. My bride had the crab cakes (which they’re known for) and I had the lobster. Neither one could have been prepared any better! This place just never disappoints. Can’t wait to return!
Had a wonderful experience for restaurant week! Wonderful food, service, and wine.
Had the salmon and risotto. Tried to eat as slowly as possible because I didn’t want it to be over! Service was outstanding. Will definitely be back.
We were in town for a few days and a friend recommended it. The food was pretty dang good but the dessert sealed it for us. Best carrot cake I have ever had. Really good scallops.
The food was great, but the service could have been better. Our waiter barely checked on us. Had to ask multiple times for water and to even place an order.
Everything was cooked perfectly. Wattress made sure we had everything we needed.
Just about everything came out wrong. My steak was undercooked. My date got the wrong dressing on her salad, two wrong sides (out of 2) and the wrong dessert. That’s just embarrassingly poor service. They corrected some things (one of the sides and the dessert) and others we just rolled with. You can only point out blatant errors so many times before you’re talking to a wall. Also, these weren’t weird requests or substitutions. She just ordered what was on the restaurant week menu and ended up with completely different food brought to the table.
Love everything
Food wasn’t very good one steak cooked totally wrong two people had to switch steaks potatoes were stiff and the chocolate dessert was really dry waiter was great
We had a party of 3, service was very poor, had to ask for our drinks twice, one of our orders was something completely different then ordered. We had to ask for our salads which we received after our main course was served. The food was very bland and asparagus was under cooked. The waitress was not very attentive at all and there was not many people there so I am not sure why the service was so bad. I would not recommend this location at all, I am not sure if the other location would be different. I do not normally leave bad reviews but this experience is worth sharing to maybe save someone else their money and time.
The service was just okay. Not very A tentative
Very unimpressed with lobster. The sides had no flavor and the actual lobster was average. Service was great.
It was our first time going to Bristol and we loved it! The Lobster Bisque and Lemon Chicken Campanelle were both delicious, however, the Grilled Atlantic Salmon was superb! I highly recommend trying their Grilled Salmon! It’s the best I’ve had in KC in a very long time!
We had one server that took our drinks and then another for half our order, then the original returned briefly. It was just so back and forth. Our drinks came after our appetizers and then when they brought us our steaks they didn’t know which was cooked at a different temperatures. We also didn’t have knives to find out. Once the food runners said they would bring knives, 3 mins later we had to ask someone else. Food was great
We went during restaurant week. We took advantage of the restaurant week special and our dinners did not disappoint! I had the Atlantic salmon with risotto it was cooked to perfection and same for my husband, who ordered the filet with the grilled shrimp and mashed potatoes. Service seemed a bit off, not sure why because the restaurant was busy but not overly busy. Our server never came back to check on us once our meals came and we didn’t see him until he brought us the check. Otherwise we enjoyed the dinner and we would definitely return.
It felt like we had to eat quick because they rushed our meal, one person was still eating soup while they were serving the main course same thing happened with the desert.
Food was good, and Waiter was ok.
Server was not thorough.
What a nice time! Food was delicious, service was friendly, and it was an overall great experience.
My entree was basically precooked on a warmer and dry. My friend, her entree was ok except for the asparagus was woody. Our server didn't care if we were there or not. Overall we won't go back.
Ambiance was lovely - it was a cold and snowy evening, but inside was warm and vibrant. They have a gas fireplace that really added to the vibe. Food was good: we had pasta, seafood grill and mahi mahi at our table. The calamari app was terrific! Would visit again; perhaps order something other than the mahi mahi - which could do with a bit more spice/flavor. Service across the board was great.
Decent place but the filet was not very good. Great service though!
Really the food is very high-quality and delicious however the pricing is quite pricey. For what it was I was surprised two guys having dinner and two drinks each with the tip came to almost $200 oh brother
The food was ok,p
This is a very fine restaurant that has fallen on hard times. The steak my companion ordered was returned three times and finally replaced with a fully different meal because they could never get it even close to right. We ended up eating separately for all practical purposes. It was a horrible experience and the manager made it sound like it was not uncommon.
Great as always!
We have eaten here several time over the years, and have never been disappointed before. However, tonight was not up to par. Hopefully it was just an “off” night, and we understand those can happen, but it was disappointing, especially for the cost of the meals. The bread served at the beginning was literally as hard as a rock. Not a soft spot in it, and it busted open when we did try opening it. The calamari was a disappointing portion compared to when we’ve had it before. It was mostly the sweet potato strings and some rings mixed in. The calamari itself was overly oily/greasy and tough to chew. Typically I rave about their crab cakes, they’re my favorite and best I’ve had from anywhere... but tonight they were not great. It was more of the mix than the crab, and it tasted more of mayonnaise than it did crab, and that was really discouraging. The mashed potatoes were really soft, as if too much liquid had been added. My husband and I ordered the 3 course meals, and the waitress brought us our bill before even asking us about dessert, nor never mentioned it when we ordered. By that point we were so disappointed in everything else we decided not to say anything and just leave. Our kids needed a refill of their drinks, we even had the lids open and them sitting on the center of the table, and she never once stopped by to see if we needed anything other than right after the plates were served. Again, I hope this was just an off night, because we really enjoy this place and will be sad to see it continue on this path of service and quality. I also noted it was my husbands birthday when making the reservations, and other than “Happy Birthday” on the chefs option menu, nothing else was even mentioned.
Normally, I have had good experiences at Bristol in Leawood and downtown KC. But the most recent visit on 12/23 was just off.. on all accounts. I realize it is Covid and the holidays so I know some restaurants are short staffed and doing their best. But, this didn't seem to be the case.
We had a party of 4, and when we arrived the hostess didn't seem to care if we were there or not. Our table was nice, we sat in the bar area. there were not many people dining that night, probably due to Covid. So, you expect that they would be going above and beyond to make the customers happy who did decide to dine at their restaurant.
After we were seated the waiter came over to get our drink orders. He also didn't seem to care that we were there and was rude, condescending, and acted as if we were putting him out. My son wanted a draft beer, and was rudely told that they only had bottles. The taps were broken... more on that later. There was nothing apologetic in his demeanor.
The rest of us ordered our drinks. They were okay, but not the usual quality expected from Bristol. We also ordered a bottle of wine
I ordered the Halibut, it was dry, very small portion and had no flavor. The other 3 entrees were also not up to par.
At the end of our meal, which was over $300, we all commented that we were not sure if they were going to be in business in the next month. Were the taps really broken or are they trying to only serve bottled beer in order to not have kegs go bad? The staff was rude. Didn't seem to want to be there, much less wait on us.
We commented that they all seemed as if they got bad news that day.
It was a special Christmas night out for the holidays with family and it was a major disappointment. :( especially given the high dollar tab.
