Brothers Fish & Chips
we had a excellent meal at brothers friday night, the staff is excellent the food even better. the beer list is great. as usual we will be back
To be honest, it’s hard to find as this place is in a mini strip mall and looks like a fast food restaurant with food to go. Once you go inside, the restaurant is very nice! The decor is contemporary and service is befitting a 4 star restaurant. The appetizers are pricey and most are over $20 and average. The entrees are over $30. The place needs more curb appeal and maybe it can justify the pricey menu. Nice staff.
Food is good but a bit over priced on some items. We had Cod fish and french fries but way way too much fries and presentation was not on par with the other dishes.
The was my first time to Brothers Fish & Chips and I was not disappointed. The service was excellent as was the food. It was quiet until a large group came in, then it became difficult to have a conversation.
The food very good and fish and chips had great flavor. A friend had the Risotto and she said it was very good. The desert presentation was amazing as well as very tasty.
Food quality and presentation were excellent. Ambiance average. Audio too loud. This was our first visit
Superb food and warm and friendly service. We've never had a bad meal.
Excellent, inventive seafood in a low-key setting. Service was attentive and speedy with no feeling of being rushed. We’ll definitely be back.
Went on a Sunday night early, so the restaurant was fairly empty. Restaurant is very clean, modest and well-lit. Waitress was extremely nice and helpful. Menu is small, however, if you like what is offered you will not be disappointed. Had the shrimp appetizer and it was delicious....garlic laden served with delicious bread for dipping. Also had fish tacos and they did not disappoint. I would have preferred the fish baked (and I'm sure they would have accommodated had I asked.) A complimentary dessert was served which was very thoughtful. Not a place for a special occasion because the restaurant is basic looking, but the food was great! Wine was delicious as well. Definitely will return for another delicious dinner.
Casual storefront restaurant with beautiful food. The service was excellent and the menu choices very inventive, with large portions and fair prices. We will definitely be back.
Fabulous, inventive food. Reasonably priced. Warm, caring service. Delicious wine, also well priced. Everything we had was excellent. I’m an adventurous cook and like to order things I can’t make (better) at home, and this surpassed on all counts.
Surprisingly high-end food in this strip-mall restaurant next to their (very yummy) fish & chips takeout joint. Food was delicious, service was excellent. I will definitely go back to try the $75 chef's tasting menu!
Food and service are outstanding. The space is lovely. Elegantly presented food in a comfortable setting.
A+++++++food and service. I kept reading rave reviews about this restaurant and finally got there. My very high expectations were exceeded - significantly. Do not miss any chance to dine there
Excellent food and service, and a warm and happy atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Food was amazing. Servers are very nice. Restaurant was smaller than I thought but the food definitely makes up for it. Don’t miss it!
Very fresh and expertly prepared food.
My friend and I went there to catch up. We sat down and got our drinks order in. The drinks were good. Not too bad. We then proceeded to order from their restaurant week menu, which they didn’t give enough options on the entrees, that was a little disappointing. But we ordered one of each basically. It took about 25min to get our appetizers, which it wasn’t something BIG to eat. It was shrimps two pieces of toast and aioli sauce. Anyways finished that and then again took a while to get our entrees. My friend liked her dish and I liked mines as well except I would’ve liked my fish cooked a little more crispier. But other than that it was good. I couldn’t even finish my entree cause I got full on drinks from the wait for our appetizers. Then we finally ordered our desserts and while we waited we saw this table that had sat after us (10 min) and they had gotten all their food before us. They finished while we were waiting on our desserts! We were flabbergasted. Anyways we finally got our desserts and it was okay and we were THE LAST ones in the restaurant. Everyone else had left. Server was nice but I wish we just had a little quicker of service. Also they charge their service fee in the bill ... I mean not a huge deal but would’ve been nice if we could’ve done it especially if it depends on service.
Dinner was delicious. Great service. Only complaint was that they charge for bread on the table. We had the most delicious shrimp with amazing sauce. We wanted to soak up sauce with bread and there is a $7.00 charge. I’ve never heard of that happening. I’d go back for the food and service but I think that bread should be free!!!
Best fish and chips we've ever had. Fish was fresh, batter was light and non-greasy, fries hand-cut. My bass was also excellently cooked and seasoned. Husband loved his smoky cocktail, good beer selection too. Appetizers and desserts were great, but it was the fish and chips that nailed it! Quite a lovely surprise, we like exploring new places during Restaurant week and Brothers far exceeded our expectations.
We went during restaurant week. Been meaning to try it forever so it worked out really well. The name is very deceiving because this is a serious restaurant. Its a tiny space and very cold in the winter, ie space heaters everywhere but they are trying to do some neat things. They messed up my order and brought over this massive dry ice smoked dessert thing that was very cool, especially for my teenage daughter. We will be back when the weather warms up to see what they have for spring menu.
Omg the service and food was amazing... I am planning my next visit already and I just leave there.
Please try dark passion from the drinks menu. 🍷🥂👍🏼
Very tasty food. We want to go back to try other dishes.
Everyone was very pleasant and professional. Food and wine recommendations were provided by our server Jackie. The food was excellent. There were 4 in our party, 3 had the fish and chips - they were light, crispy and not greasy. One had the Rissotto with crab which was served in a pumpkin, beautiful presentation, and was delicious.
Not much for ambiance. Cold and dark -- not very inviting. Food was very good but, for the money, a bit pricey considering the already noted lack of decor. A little more (quantity) for the money would have been nice. Nothing wrong with the food; just nothing here that I find compelling to return.
The food was delicious and the presentation was exceptional. Servings were reasonable, that is, smaller than usual so no doggie bags. Service was friendly and personal. Clearly, they take pride in what they do.
Was a really fun dinner experience. Food was excellent, offering unique combinations and flavors beyond the ordinary. and the staff and service was warm and welcoming. Will definitely be coming back.
The flan was outstanding! Came lit up in rum. Very, very, good and what a surprise!
Service was excellent
A little too expensive
Delicious meal and.great service!
Absolutely stellar experience doing the chef’s tasting menu. Chef Elmer spoiled us as per usual as plate after plate kept coming of delicious food and desserts, perfectly presented and prepared to perfection. Five stars!
The food was delicious and the service great! If I have any complaint, it would be that the menu is a bit limited but very good!
From the outside, very understated. But watch out. You’re in for a real surprise. A warm welcome blended with staff smiles, just shouts out “glad you came”. Our table was ready and we sat down and buckled up for the ride We started with a glass of red from a very interesting collection of blends from Spain and Portugal. Then after reading the menu, we listened to the specials. And we ordered. My wife, who is almost impossible to please, lifted her head and smiled. Sort of a first bite smile. I also looked up from my sea food saffron rice choice. It was great. So it’s a fish joint Just a low key restaurant with great staff, professional service, and over-the-top food. You’ll need a reservation, just because it’s so small. I think they’ve got 7 tables plus a spacious bar.
The food and service were outstanding! We will definitely be back : )
Great food and service. Perfect night out!
I really would like not to publicize this gem and keep it to myself, but they deserve the recognition. We were a party of 4 on a Saturday evening. Restaurant was moderately busy, noise level was acceptable. Menu was relatively short with specials and enough variety to satisfy just about any diner. The mussels appetizer was delicious, in Brothes’ original sauce and served with 4 slices of herb bread. They definitely need to serve with a spoon so as not to leave any of the broth/sauce! The fish and chips were incredible... fresh, juicy with a crispy coating...simply delicious. Three fish choices ( for fish and chips) were offered : cod, flounder, which I had, and bass which another in our party had. My husband had the dolphin and my friend the haddock. Everyone was pleased. A good selection of beers was available. Our server suggested I sample one IPA that I considered and I’m glad I did, because I opted for the Captain Lawrence instead . Though we were too full for dessert , our server brought a dish of their beer tinted ice cream for us to share. Next time, I’ll make sure I leave room for dessert!
The bill was reasonable for the quality of food. A 20% gratuity is added to your bill, and is quite fair considering the excellent service.
This is a restaurant we’re going back to, and we plan to use their take out “restaurant “ as well.
Amazing seafood restaurant! My spouse and I love everything about this restaurant. The food is amazing and the service incredible. It is one of those hole in the wall locales that completely exceed your expectations! I would say it rivals any NYC top seafood restaurant. The interesting dishes and balance of flavors is impressive. From lobster tostones to delicious ceviche to creamy halibut to homemade ice milk/ice cream desserts in unique flavors, you can easily see why this is such a popular spot for seafood lovers. The coconut pie is also perfectly made. We have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. It's by far our favorite location in Westchester for seafood.
This little restaurant is the best kept secret. If i had not participated in A taste of Westchester (a program through WCC) Zi would never have gone there. The food is great and the service was great. I only gave 4 stars because i do not usually give 5 stars. I would highly recommend.
Brothers Fish & Chips is an example of never judging a book by its cover. Both the restaurant and its takeout resides in a little strip next to a laundromat and a Mavis Discount Tire. Stepping inside the restaurant you are instantly transported to another place. Lovely ambiance, great service, and delicious food. Price is a little on the higher side and depending on when you go there, it can either be very busy and crowded or very quiet and open. The presentation of your favourite dishes change up with every visit, as the chef loves to experiment with plating and the vegetables selected fresh from the farmers' market, but the quality of the meal itself never falters. Don't have time for a sitdown? Their takeout side uses the same kitchen (but slightly different menu)! Call ahead (especially on busy days) and pick up your food, or eat it there while watching Chef's Table on their overhead TV.
During this visit to the restaurant side, it was a special occasion, so we tried the Chef's Tasting Menu. It was a phenomonal experience and everything we tried was both amazing and interesting. With the amount of courses and portion sizes you receive, it is well worth the price. I highly recommend it! (thought maybe Chef should make some of the sizes smaller? We received an entree-sized halibut dish for our 5th or 6th course and I was about ready to burst after that, haha).
Absolutely beautiful presentation, delicious food and wonderful service. You will not be disappointed. Go and treat yourself.
Food preparation and presentation was a welcome surprise. Wait staff and visit from chef/owner helped appreciate how accomplished and well thought out the meal was
