Burg & Barrel - Leawood
Birthday dinner. Very packed, noisy and appetizer was forgotten then food was not very hot.
Felt a bit rushed to place our dinner order right after placing our appetizer order. Our food came quickly but it was difficult to get the server back for additional requests. I also ordered a burger to go in the middle of our meal. Waited a long time to get it.
Hamburgers are so delicious with so many to choose from. I would highly recommend the PB&E burger. Nice casual atmosphere. Lots of other fun food besides burgers.
Service was a little slow. Waited 5 - 10 minutes for service after being seated. Noticed the wait staff was off in serving other tables as well.
The food is always great.
Floor manager didn’t have much of a personality or care much about customer experience.
Food was great
A hidden gem. Consistently great food and nice people.
Would have been 5’s across the board but service was backed up with light staffing. Some confusion on our order of rings, but as always food was outstanding. Despite that the one spicy avocado sandwich was missing avocado, we were quickly given avocado to make sandwich complete. Difficult times for restaurants, but we will continue to support this restaurant, as everyone is super friendly and the food is very good. Their onion rings are the best in town…maybe anywhere!
Wonderful restaurant. Great food at a reasonable price. It was nice to see the employees really enjoying helping the patrons . It’s a gem.
Relaxed atmosphere, fast and friendly staff, delicious burgers.
Great beer and drink selection. Burgers were unique and fantastic. Service was excellent, which is somewhat uncommon these days. Overall highly recommend!
We will definitely return. Pretzels and goat cheese balls were very good for appetizers, then we all had hamburgers or wraps. The food was delicious.
Julian was our waiter and he was exceptional- friendly, helpful and quick with refills.
Was good food and a fun place to eat
The food and drinks were good. The first thing the bartender said to us was that last call is at 9:30. I think she meant well and to be informative, but it came across a bit like we needed to rush. The particularly annoying thing (and not the fault of the bartender who overall gave us great service) was that we were allowed to make a 9:30 reservation on OpenTable. We ended up arriving about 15 minutes early, which I presume is the only reason we were allowed to eat.
We made our reservation at 7:42, and at the time the only offered time was 9:30, which is why we took that one. When we arrived at about 9:15, the place was virtually empty. I cannot imagine that there was no seating available much earlier. We were very hungry but deliberately waited to arrive.
So it was somewhat of an unpleasant experience, being rushed at 9:15 when we would have happily and preferably come in earlier but did not do so since no reservations were offered for a mostly empty restaurant.
And finally, if your service stops at 9:30, why would you offer a 9:30 reservation?
It was busy and short staffed. We understand the challenges with hiring. The food is always great. This location is extra loud, really challenging to have a good conversation while dining.
Went there on a mid-Sunday afternoon, sat outside, food was great. Music was a little loud and hard rock for a mellow afternoon
I’m surprised by the glowing reviews of this place. That was not our experience at all. The service was very slow, bar service even slower. The food was just bad. My husband had fish and chips that was overly breaded and fried in old grease. It was inedible and he left most of it on the plate. I had a burger that was okay but the onion rings it came with were also overly breaded and fried in old grease. I couldn’t eat them. We won’t return.
Went there for the patio but it was underwhelming. Classic bar door and burgers. Any beer you could possibly want on tap. I think it was just not what we were looking for even though the name of the restaurant spells it out.
Great place to meet workmates for a drink and good food.
First time taking some friends there and they enjoyed it as much as we did- we will be back! So glad they survived Covid!
Had issues with the server forgetting kids drinks and two orders came out incorrectly.
They were very good about moving us inside when the weather turned too cold.
Excellent Burgers and great service!!!!! Love it!!!!
Celebrated a couple of birthdays. Complementary onion rings because I had signed up to receive their emails a few days before. Had the birthday people signed up, I think they would’ve had a birthday offer. We went during happy hour, and the guacamole and the queso were at a special price and were delicious. We also had the beer and well drinks specials. Safe distancing between the tables. The service was great. We had a nice time.
We love this place and are so glad it survived Covid! Make reservations on the weekend, it will be busy. We love the Buffalo bird sandwich and the salmon salad. Their soft pretzels and fried pickles are our go-to apps!
It's a beer place with food. I think the beer options are amazing - good drink specials, I think the food is secondary thought, but it's a nice place and I suspect a neighborhood thing.
Good service, great food, reasonably priced. Would recommend.
Burg and Barrel is a favorite. The food and beer is always excellent. This was a Friday evening and it was very busy, plus noisy. Service was a bit slower than usual due to the packed house.
The drink menu was great with a good assortment for everyone. The food was good.
The service was great, they were busy, but servers work together ensure everyone was been waited on.
Very good service.. waitress where very pretty
Fun atmosphere, always great food!
Great meal, great service
Took a friend to dinner at Burg and Barrel since he has never gone. He loved the chimichurri steak wrap, and salad. I also ordered the chimichurri steak wrap. It was GREAT. Service was great!
Sadly mostly empty but good friendly service and good food. Will definitely be back
Really enjoy this neighborhood gem. Food is always good. Atmosphere is fun and vibrant. Always a great time when we go here.
Food was great and the pretzel appetizer is not to be missed....a great way to start the meal. Our only concern was that our server brought the sandwiches within 2-3 minutes after we had gotten our appetizers (pretzels and onion rings), which was much too quickly. They should know to hold the meal until the appetizers are almost gone. Otherwise everything cools too much before you can finish it.
First time here. Husband liked all the TVs. Booths would of been nice but it’s still pretty nice ambiance. Enjoyed the fried goat cheese balls and goat cheese burger!
We went there for a birthday and chose outdoor seating for a reason. The waitress was bothered by serving us yet the restaurant wasn't even busy. There was no propane for the outdoor warmers, they would not turn on the lights outside and it is dark at 7 pm. We had to go inside and eat as it was very cold and dark outside. Over all it was a poor experience we will continue to go to the Burg and Barrel at 75th but will not go back to 151st - EVER
Enjoyed a delicious burger on the patio. Had great service.
This the the first time the four of us did not have a good experience; initial service was very slow, had to run down a waitress just to order our bar drinks & our food was not of caliber we have had in past. The hamburgers & pork tenderloin were overcooked & very dry, the avocado BLT was more bun than filling. We will go back, simply because this was the first time we were not enthused about our food [our reservations were at 7:30].
Awesome as usual!
