Good place for interesting food, interesting setting and friendly people.
Going back as soon as Tier change allows.
Very nice hotel set in a stunning setting and location. I visited this hotel many years ago and can see they have made significant improvements with decor, furnishings etc. which has been beautifully done and in keeping with the hotel. We came here for Christmas Day lunch, the food was excellent and of very high standard. The only negative was the service (excluding one young lady serving who was very good), the others seemed quite miserable. I would certainly visit again based on food and venue.
Great Xmas day lunch perfectly decorated and cosy fires. Staff great as ever
Excellent food, friendly service & delightful environment
Excellent location, service and food. Will definitely go again
The food needs to improve! Simply not good enough for a such a classy restaurant!
Beautiful setting and wonderful food. I would definitely come again.
Sat in the lounge area for a Sunday roast as we had a dog. Cold and draughty and felt like we were sat in reception.
Turkey roast was disappointing, meat was dry and carrots were very burnt. Nothing special I’m afraid.
Service was adequate, wasn’t offered any selection of gins when ordered.
2 roast and 2 alcoholic drinks was £60
Poor quality food and service. The food arrived cold with no offer to heat it up. I would not recommend here for a sunday roast or special occasion. Disappointing.
Apart from my starter, the food was delicious, my starter was cold and a bit sloppy, required a side of bread. Glad we were sat next to a radiator as it wasn’t that warm, the open fires being lit would have been nice not just for warmth but for ambiance.
Burley manor is our local since moving to the village in April, so want to use it more
We stayed 2 nights at Burley Manor and the food on both nights was excellent, especially the Chateaubriand. Service is friendly. Prices are on the high side but as expected for this quality. Overall very good.
Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was outstanding
Easy parking and a good welcome to this lovely establishment with fantastic views. Whilst having pre lunch drink we were so lucky to see a herd of deer pass through.
An unusual menu, every item we ate was excellent and served by a delightful and cheery waitress.
We will go back as soon and are looking forward so much, just as soon as this lockdown is over.
Cannot fault it. My partner and I loved everything we had. We felt very safe and felt very welcome and recieved great service.
Friendly competent staff and absolutely delicious food in a very beautiful setting.
A wonderful, beautiful place with a lot of character. The food was delicious as well. The only downside is that we have not been told in advance that we need to vacate the table in 1.5 hours. Since we had a birthday celebration and were sitting in an empty hall the request to vacate the place in the middle of our pudding order was quite bizarre. However I do appreciate it is not easy for the hospitality service to survive in the current situation. They might just want to let know theIt customers in advance about time limit on the table use - even in an empty halls without any other patrons in sight.
All in all a wonderful place and we will come back again.
It is always a beautiful experience to eat at Burley Manor. The building is beautiful, the views stunning, the staff welcoming and the food is beautifully presented. The atmosphere is relaxing and the food delicious and freshly prepared. I just love going to Burley Manor.
A lovely meal. A nice selection for each course with high quality ingredients perfectly cooked. A good selection of wine with prices to meet everyone’s budget. We enjoyed it !
Great time and atmosphere! Would do it again and stay at the hotel when in the Newforest area as you can see the staff do everything possible to be COVID safe.
Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch at Burley Manor.
The staff were friendly and efficient.
We were seated in the conservatory area and had a great view of the garden and the red deer.
The menu had a nice selection from a roast through to sea bream all with fresh vegetables and crispy roast potatoes.
Desserts were of a high standard too and complemented our main course.
Lovely food and pleasant service. I'd highly recommend.
Limited menu but a good range within and happy to change one element of a dish for me
Very friendly staff who went to great lengths to ensure that all Covid precautions were maintained.
Very nice food from a fairly reduced menu.
Very nice ambiance and surroundings
Good quality tasty food. Attentive staff and lovely setting.
Very good food for dinner (and breakfast)
Slightly dated decor
Highly recommend , amazing food, perfect atmosphere
Love Burley Manor, great surroundings and service excellent and really on it for COVID
Delicious food and some really different tastes and flavours
The deep fried courgettes were fantastic
We ordered the chickpea tagine which was tbh a little lacking and there wasn’t any couscous or rice to order to go with it
Value for money is a really lovely dining experience and great tastes but a little pricey when you have to add vegetables to your main course priced between £13-£24 and at circa £6 a side it’s not cheap
Well worth a visit
Lovely lunch with our daughter. Want to go back for afternoon tea.
Great premises, friendly staff, good service from most staff generally, however our experience was not great.
My Starter was lobster and chilli, it could have done with much more chilli as this was not tastable.
Our waiter (Brandon) advised the mains I had picked had recently come up small and dry so recommended a side dish (I was shocked that he would advise a dish was dry and almost changed my choice of main due to this), when we asked his advise on the side dish he recommended Patatas Bravas.... a dish which turned out in my opinion did not accompany my main choice at all (Chickpea stew). The main was also not small and far from dry. It was a delicious main course and no side dish was necessary, I am glad I did not change my choice.
When the waiter came to collect the plates I advised him politely that I felt his judgement was incorrect; both of the main and the side dish he recommended, he argued with me about how the dish had come out recently over the last few weeks; very unprofessional.
At no point during service of our starters, mains or desserts did our waiter ask us how our meal was. We were eventually asked just before leaving the restaurant by a different member of staff who had not been servicing us.
The waiter’s persona changes after the mention of my opinion, which was disappointing, however at breakfast the next morning he continued with the same persona towards us, which made both of us feel very uncomfortable and left us wanting to leave quite quickly. The food at breakfast was very good.
Overall experience; extremely disappointing for a venue I had been wanting to stay at for a very long time.
Never disappoints. Would always recommend to friends and family.
Sunday lunch was excellent .
Beautiful restaurant, food was outstanding. Would definitely recommend.
We returned again to Burley Manor on our 15th wedding anniversary made more special because this was the venue for our marriage ceremony all those years ago. We were greeted warmly by all the staff in the bar and restaurant area and we were told to take our time choosing our meal options. The restaurant has seen some modernisation over the years which was good to see but still kept in keeping with a traditional New Forest hotel. The food was excellent and service was super considering the Covid requirements everyone’s currently experiencing. Safety is paramount in everything they provided but they also explained why certain parts of their service had to differ from what they would usually wish to deliver their guests. We had a fantastic evening and The Burley Manor never fails to impress
Faultless! From the time that we booked our stay and meal here to the minute we left the service and attention to detail were incredible. All the staff were friendly and professional and nothing was too much trouble. The food for both our evening meal and breakfast was outstanding. We cant wait to go back.
Food was very good... plenty of room between tables, which is important given the current climate. The Malbec was superb! We were well looked after & would definitely recommend to our friends, family who might be visiting the area on Staycation!!!
We enjoyed the tapas and flatbread, the pickled peach was particularly tasty.
Lovely afternoon tea. Beautiful setting. Friendly Staff.
Food was average although the service was good. We have had better tapas elsewhere which is better value for money. Coffee and wine were good.
We had a lovely sirloin Sunday roast at this beautiful location.
Fantastic Sunday lunch. Tender beef. Staff very polite and pleasant. Lovely setting in the New Forest with herds of deer and wide open grounds.
