It was our five year anniversary and we were staying out the hotel. The food and service was excellent. We had a great evening. Hope to come back soon!
A bit expensive but we loved every bite. Great space and great service.
Everything we ate was so delicious and the service was excellent- cozy tables and ambience, and really lovely setting. Definitely recommend the smoked sturgeon, the roasted lamb with chimichurri, as well as the bruléed citrus tart. All around 5 stars!
This restaurant was highly recommended and I wanted to try it for quite some time. We were seated immediately, the server was attentive, friendly and efficient and answered all questions. Drink selections and cocktails and beers were great. Great whisky sour. The food was all tasty and excellent... fried cauliflower, roasted shishito peppers, broccoli soup, cheese plate, venison, short ribs, lamb chops. It was all expertly seasoned and cooked. My only critique is that for the money (entrees are all in the mid to high $30's) the portions were really just too small. The lamb chops consisted of just 2 chops, the venison consisted of just 2 medium slices about 1" thick and the short ribs looked like two medium size meatballs. Not nearly enough food for almost $40 per entree. Dinner for 3 with tip and only 2 drinks, no deserts was $250. We left full, but the entrees should have each been about twice as big.
Food was great. Service was wonderful. Atmosphere was achingly romantic and cozy. Perfect winter's evening dinner and ambiance. Loved it!
Really nice room and great service! We enjoyed ourselves! The food was good, not great though- we enjoyed it but it didn’t knock our socks off. Nice time.
We celebrated Valentines Day at Butterfield and it was very, very good. Ee tried the lobster bisque to start... tasty with chunks of lobster and nice garnishes. The fish entree and the curried veggie dish were good too, and the desserts at the finish were not only beautiful, but delicious too. The ambiance is exceptional, adding to the pleasure of dining here.
There was a long hair in my food that ended up in my mouth, completely disgusting. When I told the server, he replied with, “ok, thank you”. Then our table was cleaned with a bleached rag leaving the smell of bleach mid meal. Horrible. At the end of the meal we were brought complimentary wine. The wine was completely opposite of what my date ordered. She only drinks dry wine which she ordered, but yet we were give cold sweet wine right out of the refrigerator on night that was freezing outside. It felt like we were given the cheapest option just to appease the hair in my food. I felt like the price point didn’t even come close to the experience. No desire to return
We got there early and were greeted by friendly staff. The restaurant is within a historic building. Food was well presented and wonderfully prepared. We recommend it highly.
Fantastic salad, scallops, dumplings and venison. Service was warm and relaxed in the best way possible. We'll be back.
We went for New Year 4 course experience! It was done very elegantly & beautifully. Thank you
We were there for New Years Eve so the ambiance was lively. We have eaten here a number of times before and the food is always very good. Service can be a bit off and this time it was more strained as the room was full. However, the bar staff was and has always been great.
Great dining experience to usher in the new year
We went as a gift and will be going back! Our waiter knew the entire menu including the nuance of each dish. The kitchen then followed through with two outstanding dishes. My wife’s trout was fresh and my duck was perfect. Rich but not greasy as poorly cooked duck can be. Our entire dinner including drinks and dessert was $125. Well worth it for this type of quality.
Everything was great.
Had a quiet and relaxing breakfast here after checking out of the hotel that morning. The portions were perfect and the cappuccinos were made to my snobby high standards! Great overall experience and can’t wait to go back.
Lovely dining experience from the bar to the dining room. Great food and service in a nice, quiet setting.
Duck and lambchop entrees were both quite good. Kale salad was excellent, as was the smorsbread appetizer. The beef tartare was not what we expected, and serving it on a large tortilla did it no favors. Beautiful room, with lovely decorations, and superb service.
My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful experience. Spectacular service and delicious food.
All-around amazing restaurant
Worth the drive
Beautiful old Inn
What a lovely restaurant. Very cozy vibe. Food was delicious and presented beautifully. Fresh ingredients. We enjoyed our apps and entrees very much - shoshito peppers, scallops, duck, trout. Service was top notch as well. Thank you for a great dinner.
My parents have lived in the area for many years and this was our first time going. Highly suggest.
This restaurant was incredible. Everything was perfect!
Butterfield made our Thanksgiving a memorable one! Everything was absolutely perfect, we couldn’t have been happier with our experience. We will Tell our friends and family, and return soon. Thanks, Butterfield!
Thank you Anthony C! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed the holiday here with us!!
Great restaurant - we went for our anniversary and were not disappointed. Great, seasonal menu and all farm to table. Would certainly go back!
The restaurant is in an elegant setting in the historic Hasbrouck House . The service and ambience are great as was the food.
The food was amazing. The waitstaff were very attentive.
The space itself is very charming. We benefited from the HV Restaurant Week menu so had a great value on our 3 course meal. Unfortunately, while some of the simpler dishes, like the trout and the cauliflower, were very good, most of the dishes were not very tasty. The venison was particularly dry, and our two desserts were unimpressive. The butterscotch pudding was cloyingly sweet and the flourless chocolate was just a tacky lava cake. Presentation was also quite nice, but personally I was disappointed.
We know this restaurant since it opened and it has gone through a few chefs, and finally, it seems they have found the right one! For a long time I would look at the menu and say to myself there was nothing I really wanted, but that's all changed now there are so many things I want. The only thing I would say is it is not at all a very child-friendly menu and it maybe is just hidden, but it would be great to have some more plain things like a burger (veggie too) plain pasta, plain chicken etc...
I am very happy they have finally found the right balance. I will be back.
We’ve been to Butterfield’s several times & it never disappoints. The decor and ambience are beautiful and the staff is friendly, informative and professional. We participated in the HV restaurant week price fix. The food was excellent and incredible value.
Food was delicious. Short ribs & Trout. Winter Kale salad a must try. Michele server , was attentive & gave great recommendations. Complaints: left hungry . Portions don’t allow for left overs. Martini came with only one olive. First time. Will give another try.
Great menu for restaurant week. Wonderful value.
Excellent service, great food, very nice ambiance.
What a BEAUTIFUL historic building!!
Absolutely everything was perfect
Worth the drive
Service was good as was the setting, drinks and ambiance. Liked that there was a little basketball hoop in the kitchen!
LOVED the venison, and the presentation of it, and the place in general. Plus, they made me a special side of chantarelles (in season) which were delicious. Highly recommend, tho perhaps only occasionally affordable.
I was happy to find this quaint farm to table restaurant while we were visiting nearby. The food was fantastic, beautifully prepared and very reasonable for the quality of the food. So happy to have found this gem, if we ever come back to the area we will definitely go out of our way to visit again!
We came up for a friends Birthday and found the service amazing, wine list was good but the food was not very good. The dishes looked beautiful with the herbs and flowers on them but the taste was bland and not seasoned well. The herbal flowers in most cases over powered the dishes, the tuna was in edible and the foie gras was good but the tiny slices of brioche weren’t the right proportion, the halibut was just okay and the short ribs over cooked as well as the scallops. The gnudi pasta was good but again too many herbs on top. We were so looking forward to this meal yet we were very disappointed especially for the price. The ambiance was great too! With a little love and attention I feel they can try and make the food so much better.
Love this restaurant in my neighborhood! Very friendly, professional service and delicious foods:)
Food was delicious but crazy expensive. Scallop entree was $33 for 3 scallops. I left hungry.
