What a fabulous find in Basdeck. Delightful staff, beautifully laid out dining room and food to die for.all a little bit different and that raises it to a whole new level The vinaigrette on the lobster salad was gorgeous. The scallops were amazing and the haddock with the scallop potatoes a joy.

The three of us really enjoyed our experience at the Telegraph House last night for my daughter‘s 28th birthday. My daughter and son-in-law travelled from their home in Zurich, Switzerland to spend one week in the Baddecks area with family. The Telegraph House is their favourite fine dining place to eat here on Cape Breton Island. The food is gluten-free, and farm to table , so there are no worries for many people who may have digestive issues. The portions are perfect, there is a nice local wine selection, local beers and a great cocktail selection. And then the desserts!! Yum. The Winter in Baddeck is a must! The torched meringue with the house made maple ice cream topped with Nova Scotia locally made maple vodka is amazing. Service was excellent, we felt well taken care of and nothing was rushed. First rate food AND service. Loved the scallops, chowder, tenderloin and other plates. Excellent local gin, wine and rum. Best meal of our Nova Scotia visit.

Best meal in Nova Scotia! Belinda was awesome! Our party of six loved every one of our delicious entrees & desserts. We love farm-to-table! All of the staff at Cable Room were absolutely wonderful. Thank you for a memorable evening and dinner experience.

Very much enjoyed our dinner at the Telegraph House. Great service and great food. We especially enjoyed the crab cakes and pork chop special as well as the Best of Bretton dessert with the maple ice cream and meringue.

Not sure what the fuss is about. We were seated immediately and our food came out very quickly. The crab cakes were tasty and the salad that came with them was interesting and seemed very local. But the good news ends there. The portions were small for the price. The food was warm but not hot. The lobster risotto was a very small portion and had decent flavor but it came with a couple of small claw meats, and some skinny legs still in the shell. The server told us to chew on the legs to get the meat out. This is extremely sub-standard, and there wasn't even enough meat in the scrawny legs to make it worth the work of chewing. We never got refills on our waters. The mixed drinks were weak. Weren't there long enough to even order wine with dinner. We felt rushed by our server. Very underwhelmed with our experience and we would not recommend the Cable Room.
