    This place seems to have not yet been discovered because there were very few people there on a Friday night. There are a few Basque dishes but the salads, entrees, and desserts are all standard California cuisine. Good selection of wine but the price by the glass for it and the mixed drinks was way too high.

    I love this restaurant so much! We sat on the outdoor patio and it was so beautiful. The food and service was absolutely wonderful. The oysters, stuffed apricots (duck confit), and brandy chorizo on fire were marvelous. Thank you!!

    I invited my family that was visiting from another Country. The vale taking is for the hotel. Very pricy and limited options on the menu. Great service but was expecting the French experience with the entrees and deserts.

    Friendly staff, delicious food. It was quiet on a gloomy day, loved it. Cute aesthetic, my new fave local spot. Pricey for a shared lunch, but memorable and we will be back !

    I’d like to thank the Cafe Basque team for a wonderful Mothers Day Brunch. The food, ambience and hospitality was some of the best I’ve ever experienced. I’ve worked in several establishments like AOC West Hollywood and Lucques I'm blown away. We’ll see the team this Saturday to enjoy your company again.

    Best duck I've ever had. Melt in your mouth lovely. Calamari crisp and fresh. Main courses don't come with side dishes which is fine by me, but you you should be informed.

    Food and service was very good, but the space is most unappealing. Feels like eating in a lobby. I would only recommend it if someone was in DTLA looking for a place to go. I would not travel there again for WEST LA

    This is one of the best and finest restaurants in LA. The apricots with duck confit, the fish in uni vinaigrette, the incredible wine list, the attentive service all make this not only one of the best places to it, it's also a deal. Bravo to the whole team esp. the cooks!

    They didn’t do the Dine LA for us, although the reservation was taken for that. They didn’t have a lot of items that we wanted to order, and the food we ended up ordering wasn’t good. In the end they added additional surcharge to our bill. Bad experience in general

    Underwhelmed by the food, drinks and service. For fine dining they really missed the mark. While the ingredients were fresh, the flavor pallets and sauces chosen really took away from the quality of the ingredients Things ordered: 1. Stuffed tomatoes 2. Mussels 3. Sea bass

    This is a restaurant from the same proprietor who brought us Le Coucou in NYC. The food here in LA leans towards Southern France / Basque Region Tapas food. It is delicious. I enjoyed very much their fresh raw oysters, steak tartare, raw blue fin tuna, fish collar, dungeness crab gratin (to die for!). The Steak au Poivre and Duck Breasts are cooked just right and well seasoned. I do wish the restaurant put in additional training to their staff. The server is very nice but lacks experience. After sitting down, water was never poured and I had to ask the lady staff greeter to get water. Similarly, it is hard to flag down the server for various needs. I specifically told him that he needs to pace our food and not to bring all the ordered dishes all at once. He seem to have forgotten the instructions. When this was pointed out, he was very apologetic and then he was fine. He is eager to learn at least and I can't fault him for that other than lack of training from the restaurant management. The director of beverage also seem to have a lack of knowledge about the wine listed. He ended up having to read from a sheet what the character of the wine I ask for ("flowery, etc.). Again, I think management should train or offer more guidance for their staff. It just left me thinking "does this restaurant know what they are doing?" Of course there is no excuse especially for someone who brought us the great Le Coucou in NYC which I thoroughly loved and dined many times in the past. Overall, this restaurant has great food and has great potential to become a destination for dining; if only they spend more time training their staff right. Maybe I'll come back in a few months only to see if the service improve.

    Great vibe service and food! My family is Basque, so we are picky. The frite de mar was the best. I really liked the Tola appetizer. The fried squid was the only food that I felt was blande. The wine and drink options were on point. Our server was lovely and attentive without being annoying.

    Service was awesome, everybody friendly and delightful. Food exceeded expectations -- starters were exceptional: bluefin tuna in esplesette oil, tomates farcie, stuffed apricots with duck confit. Mains were great: duck with almond puree and cherry confiture, and striped seabass with uni sauce. Gratin d'esplesette was good. It was my friend's birthday, but we had enough to pass on dessert -- but our lovely server brought a free Basque cheesecake anyway. Truly memorable experience, food and service wise.

    Food was excellent. Very enjoyable. Service was not too great. One cook sneezed into hand and went on with preparing without washing. Waiters are sloppily dressed. Hostess was not accommodating in finding us a table away from the waiter station even though the restaurant was far from full. Waiters were not attentive and never refilled water. Quite unprofessional.

    Really looked forward to this place after being a huge fan of Le Coucou. Walked into a fully empty dining room at 6:30 and was told “I can’t seat an incomplete party” My friend and I just looked at each other. Service was good, friendly server, but food was mediocre at best. We paid $5 for TWO OLIVES on a toothpick. That is correct. TWO OLIVES for $5.

    The food was delicious! Reminds me of time spent in the Basque region of Spain. We really enjoyed the Grand Salad, Apricot confit, Avocado with Shrimp, Pig Neck with Celery/Apple puree. Magnifique! Will definitely return again... :-)

    The food was delicious but the portions for the main entrees were really small. We ordered a bunch of dishes but left hungry because of the portion sizes. I really don't understand why the portions can't be just a little more generous. Its a shame leaving a wonderful meal still hungry.

    My wife and I enjoyed our experience. Cocktails were well made. Food outstanding. Total bill was more than I had expected, but we each ordered 2 cocktails and we were hungry and probably over ordered. I look forward to introducing our friends here. Loved the poulet basque main dish and crab cake specialty.
