Cafe Calamari is great for a special event and even a mid-week night when you don’t feel like cooking! Delish food, great service from friendly staff!

There's a reason we choose to dine again and again on our date nights only 1 mile from our home and its not because we don't like to drive. The quality and value you receive at Cafe Calamari or "Cafe" as known by our family, is unmatched in this area.
Food is always hot, on-time and service top notch. Step in the door (or patio) there and you know you're about to be treated to a great dinner you will not regret.

Excellent food. We started with Calamari. I had a cranberry Moscow Mule, my husband had an old fashioned. All were very good. Then I had the special which was Veal Piccata, served with baby red potatoes. My husband had the Sea Bass on top of buttered pasta. They were both excellent. Wanted to do dessert but was too full. Would definitely go again!

Setting was cozy and quaint. Service was outstanding. Was expecting a little more for the price but since it is normally a restaurant for the Illinois crowd, it is expected. Overall a very nice dinner out.

My wife and I have been going here for over 10 years. We both had the filet and it was the best meal we have had anywhere.

I miss the dinner salad that used to be served with a meal. Had the pork chop for the first time and it was delicious! The chicken dishes have considerably smaller portions than pre-Covid

Have been going here for years, but very disappointing experience. All new wait staff, didn’t seem to know how to perform in upscale atmosphere; everything now ala carte, couldn’t get warm bread; waited forever for food, which wasn’t as good as it used to be, and only one potato option that tasted like leftovers. Not sure we will be back. Sad.

Super food, drinks and service. Absolutely wonderful. We will definitely be dining here again when we come to Lake Geneva area. We really had a nice dinner.

Always a favorite, great bar and consistently good food. Prices are the best in the area for the level of food, drink and ambiance. Bartender was/is exceptional.

Love cafe calimari but since covid they have raised prices about 30 percent and now the complimentary salad costs 5 dollars more...so now the meal is really pricey.

Excellent service and ambience. Due to covid there is a limited menu. We were a bit concerned because our food literally came to our table in 5 minutes. That makes us think, it wasn’t fresh? The marina sauce had no taste. We enjoyed the food over the Summer, but not this time.

Great food. Better service. Right down the street from the Belfry Theater. They put forth the extra effort when they know you are trying to make the curtain. Don't miss this gem. Tip your waitstaff generously. They'll earn it.

all service is very prompt which can make the dining experience quicker when everything is so enjoyable you wish it was a bit longer.

Nothing like it used to be. The pear honey sauce on the pork chop was more like the Carmel you dip an apple in. Awful! Presentation was lacking, the scallops and garlic mashed potatoes on a white plate had absolutely no garnishment, not even a speck of green herb. The plate looked anemic. Not what I was used to there and not going back

Ordered seafood diavolo and it was Great but can't overcook the Calamari especially since that's your name lol... still enjoyed the experience will be back

Our new favorite in the Lake Geneva area. Love the ambiance and the service is excellent.

Food was quite average. They need better chef.

Six of us had such high hopes for this place as it has a beautiful setting right on the lake. We were welcomed, and sat quickly. Our server came over and asked for our drink order which was one glass of wine and one soft drink, the rest of us were still looking at the menu deciding what to order. After that, a different server approached and asked us if we were ready to order our meal. At this point we had been sat for 20 minutes and still had not been given any water which was frustrating because we were all thirsty. This deterred us from ordering any other beverages besides water. We placed our food order and within a couple minutes, 2 out of 3 salads ordered were delivered to our table. We assumed the 3rd would arrive soon but after 10 minutes, it still had not arrived. Our servers had not come to check our table, so we had to ask a different server if we could get the salad that was ordered for one of us. After our final salad arrived, the time between waiting for that salad and our actual meal was approximately 45-50 minutes. We were extremely disappointed it took so long. When the food finally arrived, it looked appetizing, it just lacked salt and flavor as 4 of us noticed. Wish it would have been a different experience!

Nice setting on patio overlooking Williams Bay. Service was good but both entrees and starter were just ok. Chicken Alfredo under seasoned and chicken was dry and charred. A bit of salt, fresh parsley and less cook on the chicken would have made this dish much better. Chicken parm was better but again nothing special. Fried calamari for starter was too greasy and hadn’t been drained properly and marinara was served cold.

Excellent food and service! Will be back very soon!

We had an excellent evening. Masks were worn by all the staff though all the tables on the front of the deck were seated and several on the side were empty.

In the door, we had an excellent experience. Our table wasn’t ready but the hostess kept us informed about availability and she seated within 5 minutes. The wait staff was excellent and the food was outstanding. It’s my favorite restaurant in the Lake Geneva area.

Food and service were excellent. Upon request we were seated at a window table with a view of the lake. The only drawback was the noise level was fairly high.

Anniversary

The food was amazing. Definitely recommend the sea bass.

We came here to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Started with the bruschetta and it was a soggy mess. The bread was not toasted enough so the tomatoes just soaked right in. I ordered fettuccine with an alfredo sauce. The sauce was very thick and had no flavor. I tried salting it but that didn’t even help. My daughter order the pork chop with mashed potatoes. When I asked how was it she answered that the sauce on it was good! It was just an oval piece of meat with a scoop (I’m sure they use an ice cream scooper) of bland, overcooked potatoes . Her food looked bland and tasted worse. Neither of us ate even half of the food and I know the waitress noticed but she didn’t bother to ask how it was. I felt bad for my daughter as it was not a good birthday dinner!!!

I had the Prime Rib- I asked for it RARE- and , not like other restaurants - I got it RARE

We enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Plus we were seated so we could view Williams Bay while we ate. Very nice!

Outstanding service but food is just average. The pork chop was served with a honey pear sauce that was terrible. It didn’t compliment the chop at all. Looked like peanut butter. Drinks were terrible too. Old Fashioned served with so much club soda it tasted like a kiddie cocktail.

The tables aren’t socially distanced as they should be. Food was very good. Very good waitress
