Bibb & Gorgonzola salad followed by Mussels and frites, accompanied by a few bottles of Sancerre topped off by a cheese plate and profiteroles with two glasses of Sauternes. Great service, while a bit pricy for lunch, it was all very well prepared and worth every penny.
Had a delicious dinner last weekend. I had mussels and they were wonderful! We split the onion torte appetizer and really enjoyed it. I had not been here in a while but will be back soon.
Aery nice menu with plenty of choices. Great restaurant for a weeknight meal.
This establishment is a hidden gem in Rice Village. The menu changes (at least somewhat) daily but there is always a good selection. The wines by the glass are a little pricey but excellent. The service is attentive but not oppressive, and the bread is some of the best in town. I don’t know what I might be missing elsewhere by returning here so often, but as long as the quality stays so even I’ll keep coming back.
We have not been to this restaurant for many years. Thought it would be a nice, quiet evening to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary. It was even better than expected. The wait staff was highly attentive, the food was perfect and the prices were excellent. We will return soon.
Very cool bistro in Rice Village - it feels like you're in Paris.
We always visit Cafe Rabelais when visiting Houston. The food, service and atmosphere are excellent. We have never been disappointed.
Food is always delicious, as is the bread basket. Our waitress never came to refill my iced tea, even though she was by our table enough to look
My favorite restaurant. I took my daughter for her birthday.
Great place to go
Great wine list. Small, quiet and the food is very good.
Wonderful food. Restaurant is small and very crowded as well as noisy.
Never again. Ordered a $147 bottle of wine. Took them 15 minutes and they brought the wrong bottle. Then placed on our table unopened for 20 minutes. Left never to return again. Beyond terrible service. So many other great places in Houston with great food and service. Masraffs, Damians, 60 Vines, Roma, Eunice.
As always, my experience at Cafe Rabelais was wonderful. A new “try” was the Boudin starter. FANTASTIC.
Great neighborhood French restaurant. Great wine and food - what more can one say👍👍😃
This was our 3rd times coming to Café Rabelais. 1st and 2nd experience were great. Food were great, service was awesome. But our 3rd experience was a little disappointed. Maybe because we came for late lunch on a Valentine's Day? Not sure. We were seated right away, but the food took longer to come out and tastes okay. Our waiter was too busy, she would come to our table only when we asked her something. It was just different than our two previous experience. We would still come back though, but maybe not for late lunch.
Lovely luncheon! Food is so tummies and restaurant is so nice. Great service!
Valentines Day lunch.
All very delicious.
I highly recommend!!
Alwsys good, small and cozy. Have bern going there for years.
Always delightful. Never rushed. Good food & wine!!
Another amazing meal at Cafe Rabelais! This is one of our neighborhood favorite spots. Never disappoints!
El conjunto lo hace a uno sentirse bien y disfrutar.
always a great spot - A Houston gem. Saturday night was packed, although we could still have a conversation at the table. Their mussels are just fantastic, great wine list
Wonderful dinner with friends. Shrimp with rice was very good, as was the red snapper with caper sauce. Huge wine selections. Everything on their menu is wonderful.
One of our favorite places! Great food, ambience and service!
Early on a Monday evening was a great time to share a meal and catch up with old friends. The service, ambiance and relatively low noise level were all great.
The escargot starter done in the traditional way was superb, as always. The beef bourguignon and the rainbow trout were very well received.
Two in our party ordered the filet of beef; one medium rare and one medium. The medium rare order came out medium rare. The medium order came our very rare. Our friend preferred to eat around the edges and leave the center rather than send it back but I would have rejected it. Beware the rare!
We usually go here for the duck, but to my surprise the dish was completely changed. The duck was rare cooked and didn’t enjoy the dish.
