Given virtually no customers, the service was lacking from arrival. I also felt the food was not great, too oily, too salty and underdone. I have eaten here before and it was a much better experience. I hope they don’t lower standards because of Covid restrictions.
The food was wonderful, as was the atmosphere. Both servers were great - funny, warm, engaging. I ordered three plates plus dessert. All was delicious, though my third plate came around 15 minutes after the first two.
The food was delicious ... the tortilla was particularly moreish. Value for money especially when we realised they were still adopting the “eat out to help out” offer. Good service and safety measures adhered to. We will definitely make a return visit.
Where are the cheese balls with jam? These are my favourite. Hamburger excellent.
Use to book this restaurant for clients and then went with my sister. Felt really uncomfortable when I said I was allergic to egg, felt the waitor found it an inconvience. One of the waitors kept pulling their face mask down. Will not being going again or booking for clients. Only good thing was, they were doing the eat out scheme otherwise it would have been £90 for 2 people which is just ridiculous.
Great restaurant with fantastic service and good food.
Went with our one year old for a late lunch and sat outside. Food and service were both excellent and we were made very welcome by the staff.
We sat upstairs our choice as we wanted it quiet to chat
More atmospheric downstairs
Lovely authentic tapas and the freshest calamari l've had in a while
Fast service too
Happy hour sangria made our help out eat bill even less 👍😀
Terrible communication from the staff. First they couldn't find our booking, then there was so much miscommunication about the menu (what was and wasn't available, what deals were and weren't happening) and such slow staff response that it took about 40 minutes for us to be able to order. And then at the end it took three attempts until we got the correct bill. The food was okay but only worth it because we have the Eat Out to Help Out discount. Poorly managed staff and bad communication all round. Not surprising when the manager came over to check in and he was the same man who spent the rest of the evening smoking and drinking in the corner with a friend.
Very good food and beautiful place with a great terrace but the service was very slow. Maybe is due to the recent restart following months of closure due to COVID.
Great friendly service, very child friendly and lovely food. My only gripe was that the chicken skewers were a little over salted for my taste.
Love going to Camino, food is always amazing and never disappoints. We sat outside and the restaurant practiced very good social distancing, highly recommend Camino.
This is the second time I've been back here since restaurants have reopened. The staff are amazing and the food is fantastic. I can't wait to come back.
Very pleasant and good value tapas restaurant, newly re-opened after the CV-19 lockdown. Very little to fault aside from one dish being over-looked and then not adequately cooked (a tortilla) - but was removed from the bill without any drama. Nice to be able to sit outside, in the shadow of Tate Modern.
Food was good, nicely cooked, but choices restricted. Managers were great but our waitress was pretty rude. Also staff wore no masks and kept at no particular distance. If you are worried about Covid I would not go.
Excellent food and service! First night being open after lockdown so it was outstanding!
Great place for relaxed unhurried get together. Delicious food and very charming service.
We went to Camino for a Valentine's day dinner. The tables were so close to each other that we could hear everyone's conversations which created a very poor ambience. Food was very good but the portions are very small for the price you pay. I don't recommend booking a table for 2 since you will be eating 10cm away from another couple.
Loud. Everything swims in oil. Low quality cuts of meat which turned into badly cooked steaks.
Really wanted to give Camino a go as it's right next to the office, and have been for work drinks before, so decided to book it for dinner. Not sure how they managed to score above 4.0 as the food wasn't cooked that well. Everything was cooked and presented with a thick coating of oil. The rib eye steak was presented in such a non appealing messy way that you question if it was steak or some fried beef strips from Tesco. The only thing that tasted great was the black label jamon - the one thing that didn't require cooking. Service was quick at least and waiters quite friendly! If you have a discount card then it is worth going to but would otherwise avoid spending money on the food. Seafood definitely cooked better than the meat items.
Here are things we would and wouldn't recommend ordering from the kitchen:
Recommend: black label jamon, croquettes, squid ink black rice, gambas (king prawns) ajillo, padron peppers.
Note that all of the above (aside from the uncooked things) will be extremely oily.
Avoid: Ribeye steak, meatballs, cheese platter.
Wonderful service plus yummy, good valued food. Will come back again.
Fantastic food as always. We loved the free glass of Cava and a small starter platter which was a Jan offer. The black pudding remains a firm favourite as do the cheese fritters with chilli jam. Chai crusted trout was lovely too. Really, all the dishes are great. Lovely wine and a reasonably priced wine list which really attentive service and friendly knowledgeable staff. We are repeat customers for all these reasons and will be back. A fantastic restaurant experience.
Nothing special although the broccoli stem dish was excellent
Really lovely tapas and great service in a pleasant environment
Great experience and service.
A bit of an impulsive decision to come here for a dinner, based on location and reviews. Turned our to be a very good decision. And another fine restaurant to add to our list to return to.
Great food, great service, great setting. Just a little noisy, so not the place for a nice, quiet dinner.
Amazing food. Great atmosphere, staff were perfect and brought out churros with a candle as we said it was for a birthday celebration on the booking which made it really special!!
Authentic Spanish food, lovely atmosphere and good service
All the dishes we ordered were great and recommended!
Very nice tapas at a very convenient price.
Definitely will go back.
I've been to Camino several times in the past, but hadn't been for a while. The food is quite expensive for what it is, and the portion sizes have definitely shrunk. The albobdigas were the smallest I have ever seen: one tapa was just four meatballs, not much bigger than marbles, and cost £6.75. The calamari special was particularly poor, only three tiny pieces between four, and we had to complain to get a fourth piece. The pan con tomate portions were also much smaller than my last visit. Camino wouldn't last five minutes in Spain. Super disappointed, and I won't be going back.
Terrible service and quite expensive for what it is.
Lovely sunny day, so great to sit outside. Great food, interesting menu.
All our food came at once!!!! Daft but it was excellent and great wine list. A very noisy restaurant- unpleasantly so for a while.
We went there last Friday and I must say that staff was lovely and food was incredible!!
Lovely meal, great to be able to sit outside. Food was good value, as was the wine.
We were well looked after, and had the most amazing food, cant wait to come again.
Weekend meat feast delicious, plentiful and good value
We like this place, a lot. Good that they gave us an outside table - not all restaurants take bookings 'on the terrace', which slightly baffles us. But this was a warm evening - hence, quite a lot of beer with our meal!
Food is always interesting - the dinner menu, slightly different from day time - and always packed with flavour.
Staff are very pleasant.
We'll be back - and we seem to bring more friends each time we come...............
