Our server basically disappeared for prolonged periods. Though certainly not our servers fault, we order a pitcher of margaritas and I must say, they were the worst I ever had. Thought we were getting a pitcher of of orange juice. That would have tasted better. But the food was okay and we sat outside and caught up with a good friend. Don’t know that we’d come back though. Too many other options.

                                                                                                                              This was my first visit to this Cantina 1511 location and I was unimpressed. The menu has a great selection of food and beverages but soon discovered some items were not available. In addition, our server completely messed up one of our two orders and then didn't return to check on us until have of the dish was eaten. My visits to the other loction was superb food and service.

                                                                                                                              Hostesses were unprofessional and distracted. Server was friendly but not well-trained. An order of guacamole was to be prepared table-side as an appetizer. Our entrees were delivered (tepid, not hot) before our appetizer. The food runner’s attitude when we asked about the guacamole was glib, at best. Our guacamole finally arrived, not prepared table-side, as advertised, but indifferently prepared in the kitchen. The server comped the guacamole, but that hardly made up for our lost conversation time over guacamole and chips. I look forward to what will fill Cantina’s space next. It’s obvious that Cantina isn’t far from closing.

Mix of customers: teens, singles, families. Food was really good. We had fajitas, Mexican street corn, various tacos, plantains, and queso. Everything was served warm/hot and full of flavor. Not too spicy, not too bland. Great margaritas. Attentive but not obnoxious service. Fair price given quantity of food and drink.

We would have understood if she was slammed or if they were short staffed but no one said anything.                                                                                                                               It seemed understaffed because it took forever to get drinks and to order our food. When our food came we told the waiter that we needed napkins and silverware. We saw 8 setups on an adjacent, empty table and he said that we couldn’t use those because those diners would arriving soon (hello… we were just served our meals and had nothing to eat it with). So he went back to the kitchen and brought out 4 forks (only) and then gave us a stack of paper cocktail napkins. I won’t be going back.

Maybe this was just a really off night. The service took a very very long time with no acknowledgement or apology. After 40 minutes of waiting for salads, we finally asked for them to go so that we could make our movie. They were not close to their normal standard levels ... way over dressed and bland ... the salmon was cooked fine ... the manager did come over (after we asked for her) and gave us a discount on our bill. We'll probably go again since we've always liked them, but this was a big disappointment.
