Traditionally we have not guaranteed seating, but now through OpenTable Experiences, we are able to set aside a few of our best tables each night. The $5/pp fee reserves seating at one of these tables. There is a 20% service charge included, which allows us to pay a professional wage to our service teams. No additional gratuity is necessary. Reservation fee is non-refundable. If there is inclement weather your reservation fee is transferable to another available date. Please note that these tables are up a flight of stairs and there is not an elevator at this location, if there are any mobility issues, please contact the restaurant directly to book your experience.
Anniversary. Food was great! Employees were very nice. Here’s why we won’t go back:
The ordering app is terrible. Not intuitive. Very easy to not properly place an order. The woman next to us was crying because her food never came and because of her frustration over the app. 20% service charge is automatically added even though it is essentially self serve. You order online and they bring it to you - if you make it through the horrible app.
If you want a drink with something other than house liquor, it costs 12 dollars more. Do the math on that one. The tequila we like costs about 30 a bottle. A Bottle ! Even with the normal restaurant markup, which is to be expected, this is criminal.
Good luck. We hope the next restaurant that takes that space will be better.

Had a very enjoyable evening sitting outside. Started with the very tasty guac & chips, then had the chicken fajitas. Probably the best chicken fajitas I've ever had. The chicken was so tender and there was plenty for the two of us. Had a glass of the house white wine and it was excellent. Service was perfect. I like ordering on my phone but mom said she missed having a printed menu. Didn't ask for one so don't know if one was available. Can't wait to go back.

20% gratuity is a bit much when you barely see your server due to the contactless ordering. Also, our server cashed out our check without even telling us.
The restaurant was cute, nice ambiance. The food was okay, not really a place I would go to again for flavorful Mexican food. The drinks were really good, and the alcohol selection was outstanding. I would go again for drinks and some chips and salsa.

We love Casa! Special shout out to the folks in the back of the house who do a great job at getting our custom orders to our table fast and perfectly prepared.
Charging $10 for an open table reservation for a mall restaurant in the city of Richmond is ridiculous. I e never paid for a reservation on that or any other app and I am an event planner and frequent user of reservation apps and systems. Rooftop was unavailable when we arrived because of staff shortage. App didn’t reflect this limitation. Ordering app is a little clunky so we thought we ordered more than once and hadn’t clicked all the necessary buttons. Took too much time to order and impersonal feeling for your high prices with 20% gratuity mandatory.

The ordering system is painful. The service is slow. The prices are too high for the quality of drinks and food.
Service was very friendly but the food wasn't that great.
The tacos and guacamole were great … not to mention the excellent Margaritas. Our bar captain, Kristin, did an excellent job taking care of us and the entire staff is friendly and helpful. I’d definitely recommend!

Still have to do your own ordering which takes away from the purpose of a sit down restaurant. The ordering app has flaws which is frustrating especially when you are trying to enjoy time with friends. Food is good. Service is good but 20% is automatically added to your bill
For the price, the margaritas were small and the quality of the beef in the steak fajitas was extremely sub-par.
I have been to Casa del Barco several times and service has always been good but this time— it was very poor. The dishes kept piling up. None of the dishes were removed— we had to keep asking different people to please pick up the plate. We didn’t have any room on the table for the food we were ordering and sometimes when we asked someone if they could pick up the dishes to make more room — they told us to wait for the table to be cleared?? If you are going to charge me the 20% service fee— the least that can be done is to be attended. It was as if we were constantly having to reach out to the staff.
The food is very expensive and the menu is very limited. The food was good, but not anything amazing and definitely not worth the cost. It was quite loud and hard to hear others at my table. Overall, I had a decent experience but I will not be rushing to come back.

The food was great and our waitress was fine. But I really don’t like is the ordering everything yourself online and then paying 20% for them to bring you your food. Who wants to be staring at your phone ordering messing around with that when you’re there with friends. I know this was brought about by Covid but I hope it goes away.

Over priced, don't agree with 20% automatic service fee considering we used an app to order and pay for our food. Only thing the server did was bring out our food. Small menu, not a lot of choices, out of beef barbacoa.
Facility was nice, clean bathroom, but we will not likely return.
Totally contactless ordering and paying process ala the Toast app on your smart phone.
Only personal contact is the runner bringing your beverages and food.

My favorite Happy Hour place. You can't beat the Tacos or the Margaritas.
We rang the buzzer for the waitress to come to our table multiple times and she never came. We had to get the host to help us.
Honestly we were so disappointed! We had to have our phones out continually to order because servers do not take orders although there is a mandatory 20% tip. We continually had to ask server to clear our table of dirty dishes that were overflowing. Drinks and food slow to arrive. Wish we’d picked a nicer place for two birthdays and Mother’s Day celebration. This felt very unrelaxing and annoying to continually have to order and pay on our phones for a party of six.
I wouldn’t have made a reservation here for Mother’s Day if I’d known that orders were being taken by phone at the table. It was super confusing for our parents and our meals weren’t sent in at the same time so some of us got our meals before others. I don’t mind paying for service, but the auto 20% service charge to not even have a real server was disappointing after a year of not eating in a restaurant. I feel like you go in to eat for service but without good service, you may as well order to go and skip the extra fees.

If you go to short pump and expect the ambience of the Canal Walk location you will be very disappointed. The order by phone has got to be the worst thing ever. If you are happy with that just order door dash. They also have automatic 20% gratuity added to your bill. Nothing special for Cinco de Mayo. Not much of a menu. If you are into the minimalist, sleek , no human contact thing in a restaurant than this is your place. If you are looking for a good time you need to bring it with you because you cant count on the robotic staff.
our server, ZAK, was excellent - he helped us navigate through the somewhat complicated tangled WEB (at least for us old folks) of placing our orders. The Nachos were excellent and the rest of the food we ordered was very good (all Happy Hour fare:)). But, what we really come for are the FABULOUS frozen Marguritas right out of the machine!
We had a great time at Casa del Barco celebrating Cinco de Mayo. The food and drinks were great and the staff was dressed festively for the occasion. It's a great place to have a great meal or just enjoy their Happy Hour specials.
