Inspired by the south of France, CASSIS will celebrate the timeless charm of the French bistro, where good food, fine wine, and great company embody the art of living well. The all-day restaurant, located at 333 North Water Street in Milwaukee’s bustling cultural hub, the Third Ward, features a menu of bistro classics highlighting fresh, chilled seafood and vibrant, seasonal produce — familiar fare, reimagined with Midwestern ingredients. CASSIS’s wine list spotlights primarily French producers, including bottles from the region of the restaurant’s namesake. Our space is designed to feel personal and connected — close tables, shared energy, and a lively room that mirrors the intimacy and charm of traditional French bistros.

OpenTable 編集部より： One of "Bon Appétit's" best new restaurants of 2025, CASSIS is Kyle and Meghan Knall's French bistro in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward. The menu is rooted in French tradition without being precious about it. Foie gras éclairs and ravioli dauphine sit alongside trout with vin blanc and seasonal greens. Order the Cassis Royale, crème de cassis and Suze topped with sparkling wine, and the room's energy takes care of the rest. Lively and welcoming, it brings Midwestern warmth to a classic format.

Our lunch items were good and service very accommodating. I would adjust recipe for Opera desert to the classic one. The one we got had too much cream on top instead of thin layer of chocolate. And I think baguette should be included and come with any order.

My partner and I made a reservation for our anniversary and have heard nothing but glowing reviews. I'm thrilled to say that Cassidy lived up to the hype! Gorgeous design, cozy yet elegant atmosphere, friendly service, and best of all- downright delicious food! We got the oysters to share, the Ravioli Dauphine, and seared scallops, plus Le Violet and Epices Douces for cocktails. We also ordered the banana millefeuille for dessert. Everything was spectacular and we will definitely be returning!

We can't stay away from Cassis. As usual, the service is extraordinary. The food is imaginative, yet adheres to the traditions of a French Bistro.

You know what was AWESOME?!! they played music that was fun and French and jazzy and loud enough that brunch felt like a celebration just from what they had coming out of the speakers. Please keep it up! also - our server was the best. His name started with an M? he had great curly hair and freckles and was delightful. Very good food - we expected regular brunch and this was over the top. Thank you- will be coming back again and again.

Wonderful French bistro, very warm and inviting. Server was great — very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Food is terrific. Their frites are perfect — thin, crispy with right amount of salt. Tomato salad is a standout. Nice wine list. Overall really great experience!

Been here multiple times for lunch and dinner. The room is gorgeous. The food incredible. Another Milwaukee win for culinary arts.
