Although we had not been to the Catch for a couple of years, the food was as good as we remembered it. We went for traditional fish and chips which were cooked to perfection. The tables were well spaced out complying to Covid regulations and we were given comprehensive guidance on using masks and hand sanitiser from our waitress. All very reassuring and made for an enjoyable meal.

Fantastic fish from the mussels, scampi and the amazing fish platter for 2. Thank you we will be back.

Shared platter and bao bun to start. Swordfish with couscous was superb. Lovely atmosphere, got busier as the evening went on. Our waitress was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. Great meal out!

The chowder was delicious as was the fish and chips which are well priced at 2 for 10

Food was superb. Smoked haddock chowder was absolutely outstanding and the seabass main course was cooked to perfection. Definitely worth a visit. Will be going again soon.

REALLY GOOD SERVICE! Lovely waitress. Had unlimited muscles which were nice but had been cooked then covered in sauce rather than cooked in sauce which let it down

the ambience would be better with a fuller restaurant, but due to COVID I understand why it was very quiet. The food was very good so no complaints about the restaurant.

WE were recommended by friends to try catch. During Lockdown one summer 2020, we had a delivery form West Vale. Stillhot, on time, all at a distance .
So impressed, once open, we tried the restaurant. C19 precautions were good, even the menus are cleaned. Good quality , food, can certainly recommend.

Starter choice for non-fish lovers is poor, the only option is bread!

Main courses were ok, but just ok. We’ve had better food here before so could be an “off day” , charging extra for tartar/curry sauce/peas is a bit much when it’s £16.00 for fish & chips.

food was freshly cooked and very enjoyable price excellent. Service was friendly and professional.

A very cold breeze meant I had to keep my coat on.
The dip with the bread has changed and we didn’t like it.
Tartar sauce tasted quite bitter, a lot more than usual.

Good quality food at a good price. We had the bottomless mussels and they would put the next lot on before you finished so there wasn’t any delay. Waiting staff were on the ball and friendly. All COVID safety measurements in place. Would definitely recommend and will return!

I really can’t gush about the food enough. I had the pate and then swordfish which was perfectly cooked and not at all dry as can be the case. The service was lovely and the hostess, I believe she is called Rosie, was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Absolutely what we needed. Fairly quiet and a perfect example of social dining in these strange times. The surroundings were immaculate, social distancing and hygiene were great. The foods as excellent and the service was friendly yet unobtrusive. Would highly recommend.

Managed to get a last minute table on Friday evening. The service was great, staff were friendly and social distancing was maintained. The food was amazing!

Food and service were great. Very few people eating for some reason.
A man and his son/grandson were playing a noisy computer game in the restaurant- some people have no manners.

Fabulous fish, chips and mushy peas.
Only reduced ambience as we were early diners and the only ones. I anticipate that when more people are dining it will be better.
Staff friendly and happy.

We have look forward to going to this restaurant for a long time and was sadly disappointed by the quality of the fish and chips were lovely but the fish was overcooked and too thin so the fish was chilly and in some parts in edible

The food was beautiful and the staff couldn’t do enough. Can’t wait to go back!

Perfect lighting with a desirable, comfortable atmosphere, amazing food even on a limited menu

The fish and chips here are outstanding! Only bug bear is that you have to pay extra for a small pot of mushy peas, it would be 5 stars if these were included! The squid is gorgeous and the atmosphere is good.

Another fabulous meal it’s becoming our regular weekly outing
