love our local upscale American casual restaurant- a real improvement over the old coffee shop.
We went to Central Grille for the DineLA menu and truly enjoyed it. We got the the braised short ribs and herb crusted mahi mahi. Although the short ribs weren't hot enough, the flavor was wonderful. They were paired with garlic potatoes, that were really very good. The mahi mahi was perfect. It was on a bed of forbidden rice - not my favorite - along with roasted mushrooms, red peppers and asparagus, topped with an avocado sauce.
Our starters were tortilla soup - wonderful flavors with good chicken and tortilla strips - and Caesar salad. It was perfectly dressed, not too much and not too little. But there was only a half of a red grape tomato and half a yellow grape tomato. There should have been more.
Dessert was key lime pie - fantastic, and carrot cake - good. The drizzle of berries and cream wasn't necessary though.
The dinner was quite good, and were were very pleased. We would definitely go here for dinner again.
Ate here for dine LA. They offered a great meal for $29.
Was just OK - food was just OK, but the waitress who was very nice, forgot an item we ordered, and then forgot to charge us for a drink. Had to wait 10 minutes to find her to pay the bill, then had to wait while she added the missed drink. The food wasn't good enough to put up with the slow service.
This is a real find. The fried chicken is amazing. It's coffee shop casual with great food
We found the Central Grille because it was across from our hotel. What a gem! The service was fabulous - our waiter Wesley treated us like family. The food was cooked to perfection and was delicious. Would definitely recommend a stop here when in the area.
Nice choices on their menu. Comfortable restaurant and sports on the tv! Doesn't get any better
Great food, great service for our large group. Probably would have never tried it if it didn’t pop up on open table...so glad we did. Everything was amazing.
Very impressed with excellent and attentive service. Food was delicious, especially the salmon and the Mahi Mahi dish, quite different with forbidden rice. This was our first visit here and was found through Open TAble. We will be back for another visit soon.
We had friends in from Arizona for the holidays. It was their choice to go to the Central Grill. We took them there last year and they really enjoyed it. They asked to return this year.
very good upscale coffee shop with tasty comfort food; the service is very good to good and the servers are friendly.
We were seated right away with our Open Table reservations. Our server was on top of his game - attentive and pleasant. Food was excellent, as always. It was nice to see the restaurant so busy too!
Private room for our birthday celebration. Great food and atmosphere!
We came on a Saturday, had delicious short ribs, salmon, and kids sliders then shared their famous carrot cake (which was enough for all 3 of us). The only drawback is a bit limited list of wines by the glass. Overall it was a hit, and we're happy that we tried it.
Celebrated a birthday dinner. Nikki was amazing! She was great and made our dining experience great. We will all recommend Central Grille to our friends and family.
Quite dependable for a good dinner. I like their seafood and the chicken calzone. Their desserts are pretty good, too. Usually efficient service. A nice casual upscale coffee shop.
Just wanted a place well rated and walking distance from her hotel. Central Grill was a winner
There were 4 of us in our group, and we sat in the room with the windows. The service and the food was delicious. we had salmon, mahi-mahi, and shorts ribs, and everyone liked their meal Great meal. and able to have a quite conversation. Would go again Can have simple dishes, or great dinner at a reasonable price.
The Central Grill never disappoints. Good food, great service, nice atmosphere. We enjoyed the fish and chips and the fried chicken sandwich. The quinoa salad was okay, but not great. This is one of our favorite restaurants.
Great selection of options for everyone in our party from seniors, adults and kids. Great service and the food was brought out by runners so it was hot and fresh. Save room for dessert!
Nice fried chicken
Central Grille is a solid get what you pay for restaurant. Food is good, service was very good and a nice atmosphere. Nice choices on the menu and a decent wine/beer list.
Very good upscale coffee shop with interesting food. Not too expensive, but not as cheap as a regular coffee shop either. Nice atmosphere and good service make this a good choice for lunch or dinner.
This is great neighborhood place. Lots of variety of food selection and yummy deserts!
Loved the setting. The lady server was delightful and very helpful.
The food was delicious, generous portions, we ordered Mahi-Mahi and Almond Salmon
yummy indeed. The prices were reasonable. I would definitely recommend Central Grille
to all my friends.
Food was great! Service was superb! And it was quieter than usual which was a blessing!
You're gonna love the Brussel Sprouts! ...and many other things!
Five of us had dinner here for an impromptu birthday dinner and it was very enjoyable. We started at the bar for some "Happier Hour" drinks and the crispy brussel sprouts, both the Margaritas and the sprouts were delicious, then moved on to dinner. The menu is very large with some interesting takes on favorites, like the pot pie calzone. Our server, I believe her name was Nicky, was delightful and very attentive and the complementary piece of birthday carrot cake was very generous and memorable. The breakfast menu looks delicious and I don't think you can go wrong with the food here at any time of the day.
The restaurant was closed and fenced off, but was still taking reservations on Open Table. Very inconvenient.
Delicious! I didn't know that place was there all this time. The beef was so soft. Carrot cake is delicious! The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. Will definitely come back.
Great food and service! They care about the food and customer and it shows! I will be back!
Great service by our waitress, we came for dinela around 8:45. Some items were sold out prior to ordering but everyone still had a great meal.
We visited the restaurant during the Dine LA week and tried their prefixed menu. Among the appetizers, the winner was truffled brussels - it was absolutely delicious. Spicy tuna and tortilla soup were good. From the entrees, we tried mahi mahi, which was good and almond salmon, which was very mediocre to our taste as crust was smooshy and and taste in whole was somewhat plain so was the side garlic potato. Two out of three desserts (carrot cake and lime cake) were so-so, while apple cobbler was good. The ambience is very simple. Service was great - our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and quick.
Service was great, food was very good. Will definitely be back.
The soup was delicious and tasty. The entree was well done and I had to return it. The replacement steak was cooked medium to raw. Was nicer and had leftover. The key lime pie was yummy.
Would come back.
Highly recommended. It looked like nothing special; we just chose it because of its proximity to our lodging, but we were blown away by the inventive menu, overall value, and exceptional service. We were a party of 5, all made different selections, and all truly loved each course--appetizers, entrees, desserts, drinks. We're not regularly in the Glendale so sadly we may not be able to come back, but sure hope this place is around if we are back in the area.
Herb crusted Mahi Mahi was fantastic. Vegan options were quite tasty. Service was attentive, informative and fun. Highly recommend it. We will be back the next time we are in the area.
I ordered the special and found it not to be very appealing. We also had gazpacho and fries which were tasty although the fries were a bit too greasy. I will give the restaurant another try as the menu is more inventive than most but I did not enjoy my tuna, sweet potatoes and rice dish.
Great place, nice ambience, attentive service, big portions, comfort food.
A bit of an ordering snafu but the waiter fixed things. Food was yummy as always. Short rib melt... mmmm. Pizette appetizer very tasty. Zucchini bread to go. See ya next time!
