I didn’t realise potato wedges were part of the Indian cuisine?

We met somebody called Sunil who was appalling in the way that he dealt with our group, he offered to put us outside on a small coffee table for a party of 5 it was appalling considering this is a restaurant I was a regular at normally no problems. I was and am disgusted with the service, I hope it was just this individual and not a discriminatory problem

Had a lovely meal here at lunchtime. Due to the Covid restrictions we sat outside, but the area has been made as warm and comfortable as possible. Wonderful varied menu (much wider than the standard Indian restaurant) and the food is very tasty. Good value and friendly efficient service

Even on a reduced menu, the food was very good. Lots of options and some interesting new dishes/street food to try. It's not a typical Indian and not a cheap Indian, but there are lots of things to enjoy.

Parking not covered as website said, service did not keep safety distance. Manager wore face mask below the nose. Food was ok but not exceptional. Menu seemed poor in variety. They got upset when we said we would leave the tip in cash instead of adding it to our cards. Music didn’t suit the place and was a bit loud.

Second visit to Chakras, I returned because the food was so good the first time around. Food is still great and much recommended. The downside for me on this occasion was a) the incredibly slow service and b) the lack of social distance measures. Tables crammed together like a student bar and with so many people squashed into one place it’s hard to have a conversation.

What a gem this place is, great food, location and wonderful service. Highly recommended

Offering a gluten free menu or being able to provide an accurate allergen list is a basic amenity offered by very basic restaurants, let alone restaurants charging a value similar to Chakra.
However, Chakra had no GF menu, their allergen list was completely inaccurate - thank god I know Indian food so could inform them that their kathi rolls could not be gluten free (per their allergen list an item made from wheat flour was gluten free).
They then brought another allergen list, according to which I could eat only ajwain fish, egg fried rice and hot and sour soup, which I did. Only to find out when I reached home that indeed these items were also not gluten free.
Thankfully I am gluten intolerant and not ceoliac, so after spending three days in bed I am still alive.
My husband's feedback on the food - for the amount that was charged, food was pretty basic. I have definitely eaten much better Indian meals for this value.
Definitely never going back.

Food was amazing only downside was I was squeezed in to a small spot by the door (even though i had booked in advance)ao couldn't experience the great atmosphere as a whole.

Food was wonderful and the outdoor area had heating which was great as it was a little cold that day.

Been here before. Great service, very good food. They've added a few new items to their menu since August 20. The location is great as well. I'll recommend Chakra as a family restaurant.

Food was good but service was poor. I know it was the whole ‘eat out to help out’ so they were exceptionally busy but had to ask a number of times for someone to take our drinks order.
We waited for at least 15 min before the order was taken.
It wasn’t comfortable with orders being taken by waiters squeezed right beside us and not much social distancing with kids squeezing in and out of the booths and running around. food and drinks were good value with the discount though and location is top notch

Delicious food but I had to literally plead the hotel staff doe the corner seat . and I was given the menu card till I asked.

Food reasonable but let down by inconsistent (and occasionally very poor) service. Expect more at these prices

Good variety of curries on top of the more traditional dishes. Lovely location and good service.

Disappointing. No spicey pickles served with poppodoms. None available was the response... Bhel Pooris very dry and not spicey. Nan bread only luke warm. Some of the vegetable dishes looked made from frozen not fresh veg.
Service was sullen.

This was my second visit and I’ll definitely be back again. The food was outstanding and the location on the river is fantastic.

We visited on a Saturday night and had an excellent meal. We enjoyed Lamb Rogan Josh, Chicken Biryani, Goan Prawn curry, Dal, Aubergine and Chilli cheese toast and all the dishes were full of flavour and delicious. It was nice to see a menu with many different dishes and chilli cheese toast street food is not something we have seen before but very nice. Service was excellent and we shall be going back!

A bit of a revelation actually - great food and more-or-less devoid of the standard "curry house" fare.

Excellent flavours and variety with what I can only guess is a more authentic Indian style. It comes at a price though - it's not your usual £7.95 chicken korma kind of place, but you don't regret/resent the extra expense because of the delicious food they serve. Well worth a visit.

Tasty food and great service

Went for birthday celebration..food came very quickly (4-5 mins) wine good but not cheap for albarino and lamb excellent but fish curry poor..service was OK ..then waitress accidently spilled wine and water all over my wife.. apologetic but as she was a trainees seemed overawed..we ended up cleaning the table ourselves..one waitress was excellent with customer service and apologised profusely..got another glass but then owner just came up said sorry mistakes happen and without any sincerity offered us drinks but then no one came and its embarrassing toask..but service minded waitress helped out.no offering of anything to make up for the fact we had to take a cab home ..paid a lot of money for a very bad experience £160 for 1 course (4 people and wine)..in contract has gone to cote down the road and when the chicken wasnt cooked they gave us bottle of wine and took all the food off the bill..they will survive and prosper as we will viit again and again..this restaurant wont get our money again..

Visited on Saturday for the first time with friends. Loved the nice friendly welcome at the door and were swiftly shown to our table. We didn't want to be rushed so ordered drinks, starters and then mains. All food was excellent, hot and well presented. The service started off brilliantly but became a bit fragmented at the end of the evening. We will definitely re-visit.

Some of the street foods and starters are fantastic Indian fusion foods and absolutely delicious.

The curries are also very good, though for me, not quite the standard of the amazing starters etc.
