Chart House Restaurant - Annapolis
We made a reservation and still had to wait 25 minutes for a table. Service was amazing and the food was amazing! But the restaurant was completely packed, seems like they are squeezing in too many tables- I was also surprised by how many people brought their children to such a nice restaurant on a Saturday night. Overall it’s an amazing location and we’ll be back!
Waiting at the podium to be seated was chaotic and frustrating with a reservation. Many regulars seem to walk in and get preferential treatment and no one seemed to take charge. This place needs stronger management.
When we finally were seated we were crowded with several large noisy parties. Though the meal was very good salmon and stuffed trout and the service was excellent we were very uncomfortable and left quickly due to the noisy conversation surrounding us.I would not recommend this restaurant for romantic special occasion as we requested.
Came from Frederick MD. And it was well worth the drive. Always a pleasure to dine there.
Amazing food and atmosphere! Our host and hostess were lovely and greeted us by name, as did our server - very impressive. But the service fell apart a little as the restaurant got busier and items came out mis -timed, and our server didn’t check on us after our meals came; til it was time to get our check. Then he was all about selling Landry’s plan.
Great atmosphere, food was delicious, very professional staff.
One of our favorite places to visit. The view is wonderful, service is always good, and food is consistent.
We were celebrating our anniversary. We got drinks at the bar before our reservation, which was a great experience. When we were seated, we ordered our meals, as well as glasses of wine to have with dinner. When our food arrived, my husband’s meal (NY strip, mashed potatoes, and lobster tail) was very cold. When we let a server know, they took his plate to provide him with a new meal and said a manager would come speak to us. Our wine still had not arrived. We reminded another server that we ordered wine. 20 minutes later, we had our wine, and my husband was brought a new plate with the same lobster tail (reheated), and a new steak. No manager ever came to speak with us, even though we saw her speaking to several other tables. We reminded the server we wanted to speak to her. After the meal, they brought us a plate of coffee ice cream “to make up for their mistake”, which went uneaten because we both dislike coffee ice cream. Still no manager, so we asked for the check. We were not comped anything and after another request, the manager still did not speak to us. After paying the bill, we got tired of waiting and left. It’s a shame because we love this restaurant and have not experienced such poor, unapologetic service from any staff at any restaurant in many years.
We would still appreciate an acknowledgement and explanation from management, but we are not holding our breath.
Mark was our extremely personable waiter. From the minute we were seated, he remained attentive and friendly throughout the entire meal. He was knowledgeable about the history of the building and added his personal touch to the conversation while serving. Since it was my birthday, a candle added to the chocolate lava cake was a real treat!
It has always been my favorite restaurant in Annapolis
Mark was our waiter and was absolutely amazing and the food was also good. Loved the pomegranate mojito and chocolate bourbon
The roasted chicken dish was overcooked and dry. (The creamed spinached saved the day!) The appetizers were outstanding--crab cake and grilled octopus. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was energetic. The place was packed!
This is a great restaurant in all aspects. The food and service were exceptional. The price was reasonable. The manager checked with all patrons to make sure everyone was satisfied and happy. First class!
It seemed to me that our waiter had too many tables to serve, and thus we had to call him over several times to accommodate our guests.
First off, views were amazing. We had a corner window table so i saw the water at all times. The staff was polite and friendly. Joked with us and we loved it. Food was great. Hubby had the salmon and I had the filet mignon and it was delicious. I did add the cajun honey seasoning to my filet. Mashed potatoes were creamy and buttery. Peach palmer drink was terrible. They replaced it with a better beverage without the bat of an eye. I would definitely go here again!
Birthday celebration. Food was very good, we enjoyed the Fall seasonal shrimp and scallops and Mahi along with a Filet. Mark provided outstanding service! View was great and everyone working the restaurant was very friendly!
Family in town for Naval
academy funeral for grandfather
The best table in the house to start off with. It looked like it was going to be a little slow but the manager found our server (Brendan) who turned things around immediately. There were 5 of us there for brunch and it was a lovely day outside in Annapolis, must have had a ragada going on as sailboats were coming and going like a video game. Food was great, service was great, view was great, just a wonderful brunch at the Chart House Annapolis.
Great experience with dear friends.
How can a seafood restaurant fail to properly cook fish? The state fish of Maryland is the rockfish, and is one of my favorites. I thought it was a pretty safe choice, however, it was dry and tasteless. I did order the mango salsa for the top, but again that did nothing to improve the taste of the fish. My husband ordered his blackened, but It came out grilled, and he didn’t want to send it back. The jalapeño salsa he ordered to jazz it up wasn’t spicy at all. The glass around the salad bar was dirty, so a few people ordered prepared salads made with limp lettuce with brown edges. The highlight of the night was the tuna tartare which was delicious. They did make special menus for my father’s 80th birthday, however they took them all away and didn’t even leave him with a souvenir. Even though we specifically said no dessert, they brought him out a slice of mud pie with a birthday candle – – it was complementary, but we said no. He can’t eat dairy. And we had two birthday cakes waiting for us at home, and didn’t want to spend anymore time at the restaurant. I’ve been to many locations of the The Chart House—it used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but will never go back, at least not to the Annapolis site.
We enjoyed the food and service there. I would return in the near future.
Very nice location, difficult to find parking. Food and service were fantastic but it does get a bit loud when full. Overall it was a good experience and worth another visit.
Great food, atmosphere, and service. Mike was a great waiter. He gave us his recommendations and options. The apple and cherry crisp for dessert was scrumptious.
The food is not up to par. The steak was nasty and the Salmon was over flavored.
Chart House has been in this location for a long time so it must be successful, right? In Annapolis where there are a lot of tourists restaurants don't have to be great to survive. They have a wonderful view and serve alcohol. Tourists don't tend to be repeat diners so quality isn't that important, but it should be. For the most part downtown Annapolis restaurants are tourist traps. They may have a lovely view but that is about it. There are a few exceptions. Anyway, we ate at Chart House on Halloween so that is why they weren't busy and the noise levels were low. This was our second recent visit and it confirmed I'm not coming back. Service was fine but nothing worth going back for. We were never offered refills on our drinks. My husband had the prime rib which was served as he asked, he said the mashed potatoes were fine too but they looked like a gelatinous blob, as if they'd been made in the food processor. I ordered a salmon with a mustard butter. The salmon was cooked just right but the sauce was overwhelming, they used pommery mustard ( I may have misspelled that) the kind with the mustard seeds, something milder would have been better. It had some fingerling potatoes on the side, they hadn't been seasoned at all. The salad bar they are known for was disappointing. They had no caesar salad out and nobody was around to prepare it. The salad dressings were almost empty and they caviar tasted old. We ordered a lava cake and it came on time with a nice sized scoop of vanilla ice cream. My husband had tea and they only filled his cup up half way and took the water away, he had to ask for cream and sugar, we also had to ask for more butter for our rolls several times. These are minor things but they can be the difference between fair and good service. We agreed we're not going back, the price was over $100 for two of us, we had one drink and one dessert. Overall it was ok but that is not what I'm looking for, are you?
Food was very disappointing quality given the reputation
A VERY NICE RESTURANT WITH GOOD COCKTAILS AND EXCELLENT FOOD CONNER THE WAITER WAS EXCELLENT.
Everything was perfect for a birthday celebration!
The only time in twenty years that I've been disappointed here. Someone foolishly decided to be cheap or lazy and use a microwave or countertop egg poacher instead of properly poaching the eggs in lightly vinegared water. The egg whites were rubber and the yolks were almost completely cooked through. When half of the fairly expensive brunch menu consists of different styles of Benedicts, a restaurant allegedly of this caliber darn well ought to invest in a sous chef who can properly poach an egg.
Cannot match the scenery or the food and service. Wonderful brunch on a special occasion.
We were visiting from 12 hours away and decided to return to the Chart House, where we had dined 10 years ago. We made reservations and hoped for a lovely view in this unique structure. Instead, we were placed in a hall and I stared at two walls. And there was no crab cake entree in a place known for its crab cakes. The entree offerings were not very innovative and overpriced. The service was excellent. We have no reason to ever return to this venue.
It just doesn't seem to be the same Chart House of the past. I live in Annapolis, Eastport , and this was my favorite restaurant for special occasions, because it was special .
This visit the food was good but not excellent and what made it worse was the service was very slow, almost 45 minutes between soup and main course. Serving sizes have shrunk while prices have gone up.
This place is definitely living off its brand name and catering to the tourist but even they will quickly realize there are better places in Annapolis today to eat.
Family in town
Our meal was amazing, from the most perfect view, to the personalized menu to our waiter knowing how many years we were celebrating before he walked up to our table. Everything was perfect. Norman was an amazing, attentive server and a great host. Thank you for being a part of our memories!
Great food, great service and great view. Heavy on seafood dishes, could use a couple other chicken dishes, they had one. And a crabcake dinner is a must in Annapolis, which they didn’t have, but the crabcake appetizer was yummy.
A great place for conversation, great food and group dinners.
Great experience. Best view in all of Annapolis. Great food, service, ambiance, etc.
