Chotto Matte Soho
Salmon, picante sesame
Tuna, Peruvian chilli
Last night before lockdown, great experience
Very extensive and exciting menu, on the pricey side but currently offers a Tokyo-Lima platter for £30pp, which was very good value. different and delicious cocktails. Very lively venue dimly lit. Great for a special night out or celebration.
The manager Amir is amazing
Brian our server was amazing. Food was amazing. No complaints. Always a pleasure going here !
Good service and food. Just took very long for drinks to arrive.
We went to celebrate our anniversary and it was our first time. Our waiter- I wish I could remember his name was brilliant. Very attentive and helpful. Food was delicious.
Although the service here was good, the tables were so close together and there was no evidence of any social distancing - this made us feel uncomfortable and we couldn’t enjoy our evening.
When the food arrived it was lukewarm - nothing was hot. My husband and I both had stomach aches when we got home. We won’t be returning.
The waiter was constantly checking on us- which was nice and attentive- but got disruptive and slightly annoying as it was disrupting, since he came almost every 5 minutes. Other then that, amazing food and ambiance!
We had such a great time at chotto matte! The service was great, and the food amazing! One slight niggle is that we could only have the table for 1.5hrs and ideally we would have stayed for longer.
Great food! cool restaurant with a great vibe in the centre of london
I went with some friends for my birthday dinner. The ambience was lively but it’s a little dark in the restaurant it’s hard to see. The food was very good, I ordered the nikkei gyoza, dragon roll and pork belly with a side of rice, the portions are decent and filling. Due to 10PM curfew the service was a little slow past 9PM and I never got the cocktail I ordered but overall the experience wasn’t too bad. I would definitely go again maybe when it’s not so busy.
Very good restaurant. Food is fantastic. Can get loud at times but it's part of the atmosphere.
Overall everything was absolutely amazing, the inky thing we felt a uncomfortable was the rushing at the moment to leave the table, Unfortunately the stay was only for one hour and a half so when the times came up we were hurried to leave the establishment.
I love the food and the atmosphere 100%
Service was quite poor, orders took vey long and at the end we were rushed. The food quality was good but overpriced for what you get
Great atmosphere. Harajuku brunch was delish and value for money. Excellent for an occasion
Overalll it was a very nice place with polite staff. However they forgot to bring us three of our dishes thatbwe had ordered. When i told them they did apologise and they did remove it from the bill. But they said the kitchen was closed but we still saw food been made.. i would go again because it tastes great but i would say keep an eye on them!!
We arrived at 6 pm We were rushed out to leave by 730 so they could get their second seating . Food was great , Anbiamce was good not great .
An absolutely excellent meal! Service was equally brilliant. We were advised to order dishes from each of the four sections of the menu to gain the full flavour and range of the Peruvian Japanese fusion. Not one dish disappointed! And the chef’s dessert platter was incredible. Would definitely revisit...
Best restaurant in London! The octopus is to die for!
Went for their brunch which is overall very poor value - food served is a selection of small sharing plates for starters (which were quite nice), then 1 small main dish (which was cold and very poor value) and 1 small side order per person, this is followed by a selection of desserts. None of it worth anywhere near £40 per person (before service charge). If you went down the bottomless option with included sparkling/beer/wine it would have added another £25 p.p. to the bill or plus £45 if you choose champagne - however, the service for bottomless drinks is rather slow and in the allocated 1.5h you will not manage to have more than 3 drinks max (if you very actively manage your waiter).
Downsides: very noisy, no social distancing (tables very close together), cumbersome online-only menu and COVID track&trace with inadequate wifi, very expensive (£600 for 4 people). Overall I would still recommend it, because the food is excellent
Always a great night with delicious food with a fab menu with so much choice we have to keep coming back so we can eventually try everything on offer. We have never found anything on the menu yet that we haven't enjoyed but the miso black cod, pollo picante, pork belly and octopus tentacles are some of our favourites. We live the lively atmosphere, the service and overall experience is always excellent. The food is great value, it's only the drinks that make it a little more pricey but with us dining on the last day of the extended eat out to help out we had a top evening for less than £50 each. Highly recommended.
Not well set up to be COVID safe. Ladies showing us to tables wearing masks beneath noses. Why? Tables too close together, they need to be much better spaced out. Food quite nice but lacks any finesse and depth of flavour. Worst tempura I have had in years, just bad. Large menu but actually this was closer to fast food grade than fine dining. Very expensive for what it is, thought they were doing Eat Out discount but didn’t happen. Gent serving us was charming, helpful, efficient but you got the feeling that he was being asked to attend to too many tables. We had a 6:30 booking for a birthday event, when we sat down we were told we had an hour and a half. Nobody told us that when we booked and we did not accept. Restaurant were good in sorting this out for us. Overall, I don’t think we would be minded to return.
I've got a table booked, and after two hours, the staff said we must leave, then I've asked, if it's any free table, for drink... The staff, wasn't care about my request.... We were very disappointed.... But in general everything was OK..
We celebrated a birthday at Chotto Matte Soho. It was a pleasurable evening despite all the Covid-19 containment measures. The waitress was very helpful, very attentive. Slow roast beef was very good, and I am not a fan of red meat. Overall we had a great time.
really amazing tasting menu and cocktails!
Sofas could do with an upgrade - they were absolutely knackered and looked quite stained and blotchy.
