Authentic Nepali and Indian Cuisine. 'Chulo' is a traditional Nepali stove that is made out of mud, used for cooking in rural areas (where sophisticated gas/electric stoves arent prevalent), as well as urban areas (as an alternative oven). Most Nepalis prefer food cooked in a Chulo due to its rich and authentic taste.

    decided to try out this place on a whim - so glad we did! Everyone was so friendly, portion sizes were good & there was live music with a diner joining in for a song! Unique cocktails too. The garlic naan is amazing. The one thing we didn’t like was the small parking area, it was difficult to find a good spot as there is limited space for maneuvering. Overall this place has a really special community vibe that I haven’t seen very much. We will be back!

    Our meal was a wonderful experience! It was as if we stepped into a friend’s home for a meal. We were greeted and served with warmth, genuine hospitality and care all evening. The delicious drinks were curated with top shelf ingredients and balanced to perfection. We ordered an array of apps and main dishes, all delicious and different. For me, the butter chicken shined most brightly, with a rich, deep, flavorful sauce and perfectly cooked chicken but my husband insisted that his shrimp korma was the best. The debate continues. Our server was excellent and we loved chatting with the owner and the band who added to the ambience and authenticity of The Chulo experience. Overall, we loved this well kept secret and will most definitely be back.

    Great food and cocktails! The sangava and tamarind margs are really worth trying. They have live music every weekend, so that definitely adds to the whole Nepali/Indian food experience!

    We decided to try something different tonight and we're pleasantly surprised. The food and service was excellent we tried multiple offerings from the extensive menu from vegetable samosas, garlic naan, to the shrimp Tikka, lamb kabobs and tandoori chicken. They are very reasonably priced. They also have a nice selection of different drinks, like a tamarind margarita that was excellent and a mango martini that was very good. We will be returning again.

    We luckily stumbled across Chulo when I was trying to find a last minute dinner spot on Valentine's evening. Weren't we glad we did!!! Such a gem this place is. The food was very tasteful, ambiance was perfect with live Hindi music, the staff was very good and our overall experience was great. Just a small suggestion on drinks - I wish they were better, would make the dining experience top notch. I have already posted about your restaurant on my Facebook, so expect to see more traffic from my circle. We look forward to visiting again soon.

    Good meal, super quiet but it was a Sunday night so that follows. The waiter/staff refused to actually make my food spicy like I kept asking which was annoying. Everything else about the food was good.

    Not good.  Poor service. forgot to bring a main dish. food fair at best. Has no handicap access or fire exit. Bad experience I am sorry to say.

    I always like to explore what’s new in my neighborhood and decided to go with my partner to meet up some friends I had not seen in a couple of months. I’m West Indian so very familiar with curry. The food was excellent. The portions were perfect for the value — I’ve been to similar places with higher prices and gotten less and also mediocre food. They had live traditional music which really set a nice mood, but the establishment was also family friendly though likely better for kids 7 and up. We never felt like our service was poor, in fact we may have been over-attended and one of the staff remembered my name upon leaving. It was great. I definitely plan to go back. This is a much better restaurant to have than the one that was previously at the same location.

    So flavorful—they do not shy away from using spices. Waitstaff extremely friendly, welcoming and attentive. The live music was a bonus.

    Hit or miss on the food. The tandoori mixed grill was definitely not a hit: 2 overcharred tough cubes of lamb, 2 little shrimps, and lots of very seemingly food dyed red indistinguishable pieces of chicken. Fluffy rice though. A better dish was a spiced and herbed rice and lamb.

    We had never been to Chulo before. We found it on Open Table as one of the few places that had a table available at 8:00 on Valentine's Day. It took a little while to be seated as the restaurant was quite busy, but they did honor the reservation by seating us ahead of another couple who got there first but did not have a reservation. Service was slow. It took some time before we ordered cocktails and even longer before they served them. Once dinner arrived, the food was excellent. Prices are very reasonable and were not jacked up with a special holiday menu. The waitstaff was very friendly, and I have no complaints about the service other than it was slow. We'll try them again on a less busy day. Along with being Valentine's Day, it was also a Friday, and the other guests were mainly in large groups rather than couples. I think the Nepali music was quite good, though somewhat hard to hear because of the general noise level. We will definitely recommend Chulo and plan on returning, possibly with friends.

    The service is great and the added entertainment was a nice bonus. We ordered the vegetables samosas to start, along with the vegetable dumplings, they were both delicious. For the main course we ordered the butter chicken, its delicously sweet with honey. For drinks we ordered a Mango lasi, its good, might not be as sweet as others tried, we also ordered a other cocktails throughout the night, which we recommend.

    We went there for a casual dinner with friends and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was close to Indian food with some Nepali dishes we tried as well. Everything we had was really good, the service was excellent and the place is nice and easy to get to (and they have parking). We will go there again, highly recommend.

    Delicious food! The menu isn't too big which is great - made it easier to choose and everything my husband and I chose was yummy! There was also live traditional music when we went (Friday night) and we really enjoyed that.
