Claim Jumper - Fountain Valley
Too bad they closed Sunday.
The food was not great, everything tasted very salty. The manager on duty lingered and tried to have conversation with members of the party when conversation was not provoked on behalf of our party.
It was fine.
Server was Melissa, she was the worst server I’ve ever had in any restaurant, the food was horrible, my son steak was overcooked he took it home and threw it away ,, we all took our food home and was in trash within hours ,, I called into the manager and complained over the phone , I told him my kids were embarrassed for me to complain I’m person , I will never eat there again,, they even forgot my dons birthday when that’s the reason I was there for him. It was mentioned to open table and the person at claim jumper,, I will check on one of them down below but there’s nothing appropriate to Check
Décor was old and dreary. Service was mediocre with very unenthusiastic staff. Huge portions for really bad food. I had a blackened chicken stuffed baked potato. Potato was dry. Chicken pieces were hard to find and looked like small shavings of chicken. More like what would go in a Gyro sandwich. I was so glad that we were paying with a gift card we received for Christmas and not with cash. Will never go back. Sad because I had fond memories of very good food in the past.
Extremely cold in restaurant. Food was warm. We had booked a table but on entering the restaurant waited over five minutes before some one appeared to take us to the table.
Went to pay could not take cards only glad we had cash. This is the second bad experience at the same restaurant last time the children’s frozen grapes were bad and the children’s vegetables had onions in them .
I will think twice before going again
The vegetables did not taste or look fresh. The food appeared like it been stored in refrigerator overnight and then microwaved and served.
Had not been to Claim Jumper for some time and found that there seems to be overall deterioration.
In the past, this restaurant was bustling with activity on any early Sunday evening. There was only one person at the host stand and he was on the phone taking an order with his back to the door, we waited several minutes for him to finish before being acknowledged. . There were very few other customers inside. Once seated, the waiter was friendly. We ordered , and the waiter returned shortly to tell us there would be a 40 minute wait for chicken pot pie! What a surprise and disappointment. Overall the food for the group was just "OK". Because there are so many other restaurants to choose from in this area, we will choose to spend our money elsewhere.
We were a party of 6 with 2 little ones. Our waiter was patient, congenial and efficient making our meal very enjoyable. We will return.
Service, food and welcoming environment are always great
We actually had some Claim Jumper gift cards, so we decided to go to dinner there. The Irvine (CA) location closed long ago, so next closest locations were Costa Mesa and Fountain Valley. Since the Costa Mesa one is right in South Coast Plaza shopping mall and it was Sunday night and only two shopping days left before Christmas, there was no available seating around 5:30 on Open Table, so we opted for the Fountain Valley location which worked out better = no parking or overly crowded issues.
Fountain Valley staff were pleasant and greeted us and checked us in right away. We probably have not been to Claim Jumper for over 15 years. Food was fine, service was friendly and very good. We ordered the Motherlode cake for dessert and it wasn't bad, but not as good as we remembered it as it did seem a little dry and not as dense or moist as we recalled.
Thanksgiving Dinner was a great value, we were seated promptly and for such a very busy night, service was good. They ran out of several items but fortunately all four of us in our party wanted the turkey dinner which was delicious. We would definitely go back again. Our server was Noah and he was very personable. One quick note, the manager came to our table, very nice, and told us about the change in the cranberry sauce. He was very enthusiastic, yet we told him we thought it was too bitter, too much orange zest! Otherwise, every thing was delicious and well prepared! Thank you.
It was Thanksgiving and extremely crowded. We could barely get in our booth because they had a party of 14 that was blocking the majority of the aisle. It was also blocking my access to my seat partially. The food was not very good with some items not at the right temperature. My mashed potatoes had whole potato chunks in them. It was a very loud, very busy evening, but a lot had to do with the holiday and trying to book to many people at a time.
Despite the rain and crowds, our visit was exceptional. All aspects of our dining experience was great.
great experience overall! was greeted by the location manager, everything seemed to be flowing smoothly!
Great option for those in search of an easy option and saving time on Thanksgiving to do other things!
Worst customer service ever. Restaurant was lonely and you would think they would be more attentive. (We we're a group) we had to ask for things, the waiter would go m.i.a and she seemed unhappy to be there. Not a smile, not a Thank you. I will not be returning to this location again:(
It took 5 tries to
Get bill proper. Waiter was obviously new. He was nice but it was ridiculous!
Service was slow but food was good. Overheard Manager making apologies to many tables. Hopefully just an OFF night.
Service and the ambiance was good. The salads were crisp and the bread was hot. The bone in rib eye was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The baked potato was also cooked perfectly. The brownie finally was okay. The brownie part of the dessert was delicious but how it was put together did not compare to the old brownie finally. There were no almonds or whipped cream. It appears those two classics were replace with white chocolate.
My family & I have been to the Fountain Valley location several times over many years. We enjoy the quality of the food as well as the price. I was at your location this past Sunday for brunch. Our server was fabulous. The only thing that was not great was how cold it was. I have been to this location in the past where it was very cold. It taken care of & we enjoyed our brunch.
I work close to this location and come there for happy hour! Great Menu. I will be there Thursday Aug. 15. Keep up the awesomeness! Loyal patron Mary Bullock
Claim Jumper was very accommodating with our last minute increase of 4 more people. However, when we all sat down it took a long while to get a bottle of wine opened and wine glasses as well as other drink orders. I realize big groups can be hard. All in all, I believe everyone was happy with their meals al around.
Good service, but Claim Jumper is just getting worn out. Nothing new is years and the building needs updating.
We always get the same waiter and it's so nice to see someone work so hard to please his customers. I do enjoy Claim Jumpers salads a lots. A bit pricey, but once in a while worth it. Won't stop me from going though. I also like making the reservation online now.
I am never disappointed with food and service at Claim Jumper
The service was great. My food was over cooked. Salad bar was good. Special was good.
Hostess was not hospitable.
Party of five. All food was excellent. Nick provided great service. An enjoyable evening.
Everything was good.
