Good place for friends and family
Generally a good location for this chain. While not as elegant as the next nearest at South Coast Plaza, this location seems to be easier to get a reservation for. The wait staff is very young but that's not a bad thing since they are very nice and attentive. The food and service were all fairly quick and will easily serve anyone well who is looking for a good but quick sit down meal.
After ignoring us for about 5min as we stood in the lobby. They sat us at our table and ignored us for another 15 minutes. We left and went and had a lovely mea at Pick Up Stix. We will not return to this location (actually bumped into someone at Pick Up Stix who had been ignored for 25 minutes at this location the last time they visited (then they left). We hear other locations do not have this issue but it seems prevalent here.
We will not be back.
I am generally considered a generous tipper. This time I left ZERO.
Service was extremely slow. Basic condiments were not provided. Drink orders were wrong and refills next to non existent .
Twice I had to leave the table and chase down a waitress.
I carefully observed...this was not a case of under crewing.....just plain horrible service.
At least once we got it the food was very good.
Wonderful meal. One problem....the restaurant was so smokey that it burnt our eyes. I think it was from a fireplace.
Very good food; however, quantity (for the price) and the level of service left a lot to be desired. I would recommend only if you're willing to accept these deficiencies.
Good for groups! Service is amazing and appetizers for grouos are great.
Our food was not great but overall was good
We've been going to this Claim Jumper for years and have been happy with most of our experiences up until now. Not sure if it was just a bad day or there has been a change in management but we experienced a number of problems this last time.
The service was poor. We ordered two drinks and they were out of the specific beer and a major ingredient for the 2nd drink. The bread was slow in coming out (still good bread). Never got our waters refilled.
The food was disappointing. Dishes we've had in the past were different and by different I mean worse. For example, one of our favorites is the chicken fried steak. The steak used to be tenderized really well, as it should be. This time it just seemed like they took a steak, breaded it, and fried it. The breading fell off the minute you started cutting into it.
Finally, the restrooms smelled really bad. Like a hole in the wall place that doesn't care about ambience. Not what you'd expect from a CJ. The smell actually permeated into the entrance/waiting area.
I think we are done with this CJ.
Server was busy chatting with his friends at the next table. We needed refills and had to ask for the soup To be brought out before dinner. We were served a plain baked potato and had to wait for him to come back to ask for butter for it. The bowl of soup was charged 8.99! It probably should have been an add on to our meal at a much cheaper price, the food overall was good but service was bad. That’s probably Why there wasn’t a wait at 6:30 on New Year’s Eve.
We asked for bread three times and got it at the end of the meal, we never got the water we asked for, we paid extra for toppers on our steak which was not on the steak, the server brought it later in a cup. I paid extra for a stuffed potato and it had nothing on it but cheese sauce. The server had to bring butter and sour cream on the side. My son in law’s meal was not served with any sauce and my husband’s meal (a bowl of soup) was completely forgotten and then they brought him the wrong soup and then finally the right one. The final straw is the server knocked over my son in law’s beer and it took so long to replace it that we finally paid our bill and left without getting it. The food, once received was good, but overall terrible service and experience.

It looks like a new menu since our last visit. The menu is smaller, and the portions are smaller. I had the salmon, and enjoyed it. I just wish restaurants would develop the flavors more instead of being lazy and using only salt and pepper. There was pepper on everything including the vegetables. SMH. Others in our party had the bow tie pasta and loved it, and the burgers and liked them. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive.
Christmas Yves seating was OK no festive decorations in the restaurant or music food was mediocre. Service was good buy original server go on line and then we had many different people coming to the table.

It's gone to Sh*t. Price went up, portions and quality went down. They are the $20.00 menu, everthything is $20.00

Filet steak first ever with no flavor. Tender and cooked as requested Meat loaf more bread than meat excellent salad bar.
Could have been cleaner and had more attentive service.
Host stand was disorganized and seating people in random order. Waiters seemed to be picking up tables all over the restaurant and camping out in the kitchen (likely inquiring where food was). I can only image that the kitchen was totally underwater. Food arrived at a snails pace, appetizer and starter salad took over 40 minutes from when we ordered. It went down hill from there.
Claim Jumper is always on my dining list. Good food and exceptional service. Loved the meatloaf and mashed potatoes and who could forget the great clam chowder.
Our waitress Jenae was the best . She was very attentive to our needs and thoroughly knew the menu.
Although the restaurant was out of a few items we wished to order, her suggestions were spot on!

Upon setting the reservation, I checked in to the restaurant with the help of open table. However,I’d discovered during my dining experience, that the hostess had canceled my dine. That’s ridiculous! So I’d spoken with the manager, Carla who said it was a mistake & she'd counsel the hostess. This, I said I created a new one so at least I get credit for the dine, as I was there nearly an hour. So I went to the hostess to please not cancel the second reservation, she just shrugged her shoulders. Upon arriving at home, I’d seen she’d canceled again! She left me with a negative feeling there. Even I have a receipt from my dinner to prove I was there.
So basically, I am hesitant to schedule any future reservations there for fear of having to see the same hostess and run the risk of her canceling my reservation again. If she has issues performing her role, perhaps she could receive more training on how to provide good customer service & keep the reservation for open table customers.
I will hold off from returning to this restaurant.

Great service & great food.
Unfortunate that we arrived to be seated after using the open table app with our family only to find there was no record of a reservation. CJ claimed their computer was not working. We waited for the next table. Open table needs to get more clear acknowledgements from their locations.
Terrible service. There for over 2 hours because server forgot us

It was great service. The food was perfectly done for each of us. It was great that they serve the kids first. Love that. We will be back again. They made it special birthday celebration
Claim Jumper is no longer owned by Landry's unfortunately. While the food was good it wasn't up to the excellent standards set previously. The portions were smaller. The sirloin steak was good just not the melt in your mouth experience. The mashed potatoes were somewhat bland also. I probably won't be going back.
Service was horrible 1/7 of us didn’t receive the drink we ordered. It took 30 minutes for waiter to take our dinner order. And then AFTER asking us if we wanted dessert, NEVER came back with our bill. 30 minutes later, one of us had to go to the front of the restaurant and request our bill. The restaurant wasn’t even busy!!! We arrived at 7:30, and finally was able to leave at 9:40!!!
Not this location with the service we had. This is the second time this year the service affected the experience. Food is always good. Bartender made awful drinks as well
We must have gotten there during a shift change because it took 15 minutes to be seated even with reservation. Once sat, service was great. Food was a little over priced. But it tasted good and was very filling
Great attentive service. The new ownership shows in higher levels of service and smaller portions.
Couldn't ask for a better server-but-They still use a runner to bring your meal and it's not coded for your seat. They still ask everyone at the table who's having what.
They still don't have anything other than pain brewed coffee. Pricing is high for the portion and presentation.
The interior was stylish-20 years ago.
The food was disappointing. Only one chef on duty so food was over cooked and dry. Normally the food is very good. Our waiter was wonderful, so was the bartender.
I requested a table for 6 after making reservations with open table months ahead of our scheduled date. When we got there they said that they could not accommodate the request due to big parties in their private room and the area by the fireplace. Next time I would call the restaurant and make sure that they can give us the desired seating arrangement. The server was excellent and the food was good however they have changed their menu yet again. Check with the server before you order if it is made the same as in the past. You may be in for some surprises.
Was not aware that this rest6is no longer part of Landrys. Food was awful and was not told that it wasn't part of Landrys until I presented my Landrys card upon paying. They totally misrepresented who they were
Our server Brooke was great. She was attentive and showed up at the right time. And she was very pleasant.
I made the reservations for 7; when the confirmation came up for Open Table it stated only 2. My daughter called and asked that it be changed to actually 9 people so all was well.
