Claim Jumper - Village of Hoffman Estates
Mike, our server did everything to please us. He was moving so quick to help us he almost fell! Loved the famous chicken pot pie and the country fried steak.
Waiter no very attentive at all, took long to get drinks an food itself. Just not very satisfied with the hole experience
The food was very good! Service was very good but just slow because of COVID. We understood that they can only have a certain number of staff members in the kitchen. It was still a great experience!
First time there and definitely my last. Food was beyond bland. Mediocre at best. Place had a funny smell also. Went in on a Sunday evening and restaurant was empty. Server herself though was fantastic.
Only made three of the four meals, and we ended up waiting nearly 20 minutes for the final meal to finally show up. Then it was wrong, with the wrong sides and the sauce having been simply scraped off the meat (asked for it on the side.) Most of meal was overcooked and underseasoned.
Usually one of my favorite spots, this site has really gone down hill. Not recommended.
Nice outside dinning
Great with allergies
Live this place! Excellent food excellent staff
It went very well! Thank you!
Everything was great except we could not log into the Wi-Fi it was down. My grandchildren were not happy about that.
Service was ok food had to be sent back and of course others finished because food took to long to come back out.
Bad night especially because it was a birthday dinner.
We were seated in the patio area, open air but no bugs or wind! We went early and avoided crowds. The food was delicious and arrived at the right temp.
Pricy for hamburger service slow but nice just spread to thin
17 hamburgers hmmm
Nothing wrong but nothing really great
This was the first time we had an all around bad experience at a Claim Jumpers restaurant. Due to covid 19, there were only a couple parties dining indoors and one other party outdoors where we dined for my Birthday celebration where I treated my extended family. We ordered 2 Bonanza platters and waited for over 40 minutes for the appetizers to be served at our table. We ordered our drinks simultaneously with the appetizers, yet we waited even longer for our cocktails to arrive. Our server apologized for the lengthy time we waited and offered an explanation that they were extremely busy, however we observed there were approximately 4 or 5 parties total dining at that time. Since our server told me they could NOT make a Strawberry Mojito because it was not on the menu, I ordered her suggested Pomegranate Mojito instead. I did not like the taste of the Pomegranate syrup and promptly requested a different drink instead. I asked our server to see the cocktail menu again and I watched her go to a table where a couple had just left and grab the drink menu from their table that had not been sanitized or wiped down before handing it to me. I then ordered a Red Sangria which again took a long time and arrived at our table when we were close to finishing our main entrées. The food was very lack luster. The entire dining experience was such a disappointment and I was regretful that we chose to dine there to celebrate my birthday with my family. Service was poor and the food and timing was unacceptable.
Covid did not affect quality of food but place was empty unfortunately.. continuing to support a neighborhood gem
We have always enjoyed Claim Jumpers however since it has reopened the service has been very poor. This is based on a couple of visits. This time they sat us and didn't have menus and said she would return with menus and I had to flag her down. Then they didn't have any waiters assigned to the area. Disappointing.
Loved it. Always loved this restaurant. We were glad to be back. Menu was limited because of COVID and it’s a bit pricey. But overall a great time.
The precautions taken as a result of Covid 19 were excellent. Masks, gloves and distancing of tables were followed. The dinners were terrific as always. Our server was friendly and very efficient. We had reservations and were promptly greeted and seated by the front reception staff.
We try to eat out twice a week to support local economy. Long tine since our last visit. Covid-19 has impacted their menu and offerings. Disappointed to say the least. None the less food was great and service delightful and understanding.
It was sad to see the restaurant so empty -but the service was great and the food was very good.
It was so hot in the restaurant. Service was great !! Dood was great
Everything was fine except the food. The order came back wrong then the food was messed up. And of the Appetizers didn’t taste right.
Was sad to see that the restaurant was near empty. The good news was that outdoor seating was plentiful. They are operating with a limited menu, like many restaurants, and we were disappointed they weren’t serving their great bread. The loaded potato skins were good, and my chicken fingers were all right… My girlfriend noted that the salmon was very good. Our waitress was fine, but we have had friendlier and more energetic servers in the past. The outdoor seating area is nice, and they had blocked off enough tables to give everybody sufficient room.. of course, that didn’t stop one patron from ignoring the signs and sitting down at a closed table as we were leaving 😡. We have had a better time there in the past, but I’ll chalk it up to the limited menu and the current social situation.. we will probably try it again in the future.
The food was just ok. It wasn’t nothing exciting about it. The prices was really high. The drinks were just bland. The server was great, but he was taking a while to bring us food but I know because of COVID they was understaffed but this was our first time but I don’t think I’ll be returning.
Service was very slow. No one at the restaurant, yet we waited a long time for our drinks
I was apprehensive to eat inside a restaurant because of the coronavirus. The staff at Claim Jumper helped to ease our anxiety. The restaurant was immaculate, the staff wore masks and gloves, we were seated far from other patrons. Just like before the virus the food did not disappoint, hot well presented and delicious. We will highly recommended and not hesitate to return.
Social distancing from other guests, masks on servers, food was delicious, service was great.
It was a last minute plan and pleased with it all.
We had a great service but cannot remember her name.
Went on a birthday coupon from Landry’s told us they were sold but would honor coupon have used this birthday coupon before this time they said didn’t include liquor although other 2 times it did
Didn’t use coupon just paid
The previous times I’ve been there we have been served warm bread before appetizers came out, but this time we did not get any. I’m not sure why but it was no big deal. To be pretty fair it seemed like a very busy evening. I ordered a burger which was delicious and the food is all really great quality. I would definitely recommend coming here if you want a bigger meal for a decent price :)
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. Did not know there was a Claim Jumpers in Hoffman Estates since we always went to the one in Wheeling and were very disappointed when it closed. We will be back.
The food was good. The service I would rate as ok since it was a buffet but the price was very high for 3 people
Restaurant was busy and there was a wait which was confusing since there were open tables once you were inside. The waitress wasn't the friendliest and not very attentive, only came around for the order and to deliver food. When asked about the cheese bread, she responded with an attitude that it needs to be asked for now and they don't automatically bring it. Sorry but how am I suppose to know that? Food was okay. Portions are large. Disappointed with the fish and chips as the fish was soggy on the bottom side. I'm not a regular here and after this experience, I won't be returning for awhile.
I like Claim Jumper. However, this time I tried something new: Potato Cheddar Soup followed by Shrimp Fresca Entree. The soup was bland (neither "potato-y" or much cheese flavor), but I was more disappointed in the Shrimp Fresca. The picture they show on menu look refreshingly light with a light sauce. The description on menu reads: Parmesan-crusted shrimp, diced tomatoes and spinach served over pasta in a light lemon butter sauce. What I was served was very heavy...bordering on a cheesy texture you would expect from a fettuccine alfredo or carbonara. So heavy I could not finish. Not bad...but definitely not like picture. Maybe mine was just not made correctly.
Went there for my wife’s birthday. They were in a “beer transition” so they were out of basically everything we wanted. There were times when our server disappeared for 20-30 minutes at a time and it wasn’t even busy. The food was excellent, but our experience could have been better.
Server was fantastic
A little overpriced. Food was nothing to write home about, $14 for a burger that should have had mac and cheese on it but was pretty much just noodles. Our server was great, never had empty drinks and used plates were never on the table long.
We used to go often. A move and revised menu slowed us down. We note some of our favorites are back and that is great. Will be back
Read some reviews that were not favorable..did not experience anything like they described. Had great service, wonderful food, had a really fun time, staff was so very accommodating to us and our grandchildren. Everyone around us was having a great time too. Lots of celebrations going on. Definitely going back and would recommend to anyone.
Food was excellent! It was my husbands birthday we had a great time and will be back for sure!
