Took advantage of the outdoor seating on the sidewalk of Main Street and watched the passersby. Bartenders Charles (also our server) and Nick are the best, and Tanya (GM) takes very good care of her repeat customers. It has been a tough year for restaurants but the Club Car has done a wonderful job of following social distance guidelines for diners and masks for everyone unless eating and the high season has come and gone with no virus spread associated with the restaurant industry. Sad to see them close for the season last evening but know they will be back to delight us with their creative and delicious menu in 2021
Was a huge disappointment. After waiting years to go here it was not at all what I expected. Sat in club car which was dark and drafty. Would have preferred the airy dining room which is always featured in all photos. Food was ok and service was ok. Not worth the price- such a disappointment! Thought it would be a bit classier.
We ate on a picnic table placed in what looked like the street. Food was ok. For how much the food cost, picnic-like ambience and the small servings, I would not return. We ate meals at other Nantucket restaurants and had much better experience with ambience despite covid restrictions.
Club car was an absolutely amazing spot to celebrate our honeymoon- they were extremely safe, delicious food, fantastic music, and Nick the bartender made us feel so special for our honeymoon. Absolutely recommend!
Food was amazing!!
Diverse menu-shrimp skillet fabulous!! Interesting well balanced cocktails
Amazing food amazing staff! Social distancing was well done. The corn salad and mushroom tostada were my favorites!
Given the current Covid 19 environment - I was very concerned about eating out. Also, the thought of not having a piano playing in the background and the lack of the buzz from the Club Car bar scene was not appealing to me. Our entire experience was an incredible surprsie. The picnic table setting was idealic and the atmosphere was upbeat, yet calming and low key at the same time. Our waitress was terrific and ultimately the food was really good. I highly recommend the guacamole with the crab meat added.
It was a casual outdoor dining experience. Menu is limited. Food was ok. Expensive prices for food and drinks. Portions were small. Quesadillas were good. Tacos fell apart in shell.
Different menu this year with very limited menu. Drinks were great. Fish tacos and the ceviche were good. Steak and pork tacos were okay. Service and drinks made it a fun night! Will try again next year!
Best meal we had on Nantucket. The chips and guacamole are out of this world. Drinks were amazing. Bistro seating outside was wonderful.
The food was incredible. Best on the Island so far. We loved the salsa, grilled oysters, peri peri chicken and guacamole.
Nice outdoor seating for the COVID environment. Surprisingly good Mexican food (at least relative to my past recollections of the Club Car menu). Menu was limited but we enjoyed everything we ordered.
Not the pre-Covid Club Car experience but fun tasty Mexican food at picnic tables. Perhaps a bit overpriced now.
Mexican restaurant but no nachos?!? Menu really limited. Service good, food mediocre.
All around a great experience. Will be recommending to everyone. Club car never disappoints.
Lovely outdoor experience. Wonderful charming staff
We came in from out of town for a bachelorette party. We made reservations for two tables two weeks in advance. We were never notified that a 9pm reservation required dinner service. Once sat, we ordered drinks and were informed that “the check would be dropped off, as we weren’t ordering food”. We were unaware of this policy, as it was not made clear at the time of booking. The staff were unaccommodating, unhelpful, and downright rude. The drinks were purely mix, and we got the sense that they just wanted us to leave. Such an unfortunate experience, put a damper on our night, and we will not return.
Great bartender and service!
Have really enjoyed ClubCar the past couple years. This year is obviously very different with the pandemic. The food was very good, but I did not feel the value was good for what is effectively nice Mexican food. Will go back when they have the full menu.
Far overpriced for subpar Mexican food. They should lower prices or improve the menu. Used to be a fabulous mainstay, trying to be too hip/trendy.
Stroll weekend and we were happy to have a reservation in the middle of the day during stroll. Food was great. Service was great - friendly and fast. Loud because of stroll. Would definitely recommend a try!
Food and service are excellent! The dining area is really attractive. There is a bar area as well with a good vibe.
Excellent service and amazing food start to finish!
Even though it is a small plates menu, our server wanted us to put in our entire order rather than putting in plates to share as we finished an item. It made for a more rushed experience.
Absolutely loved it! Bloody Mary was perfect...the digs on the brunch menu were ridiculously good - tasted like a cinnamon bun!
Delicious food. Our steak was cooked perfectly. Overall experience was great.
Noise level, with no floor covering and no ceiling mitigation, was such that, were we blown away by the food (We were not.), we would not bring guests, for we could not have a real conversation. First course - "oysters" [plural] = 2. Stingy. Very good, but stingy Second course - blowfish tails. Interesting. One of us liked them; the other did not. Entree - cod. Not cod; maybe flounder but not cod or, if it were cod, it was sliced so thin that the delicate flaking we associate with cod was missing.
Thank you for joining us for dinner. We're sad to hear that you left upset. We have been working on a solution to the noise in our dining room but have yet to find the right fit. As for the tapas, we believe that $3.50 per oyster is a fair and standard price, especially oysters that are poached in hand made cilantro-lime butter. The cod we serve is both fresh & tasty. It's a shame that you didn't communicate with us while you were here. We could have addressed your concerns immediately.
I arrived 3 minutes late, and waited another 20 minutes in the very crowded, very loud bar full of drunk 20-somethings, with no seating available. Once seated at my table, I was served attentively by my server and food runners, but my server mistakenly charged me for the glass of wine that the bartender had asked me to pay for before leaving the bar. As for the food, my first course (tomato and ham toast) and second course (cauliflower) were beautiful and delicious, but my cod entree was undercooked. I didn't send it back because I frankly just wanted to get out of the restaurant ASAP by that point. I was really looking forward to returning to the restaurant after a few months away--It's one of my island favorites--but, if I'm honest, I left disappointed this time. I'll try again, in hopes that the craziness of Restaurant Week can account for the less than perfect dining experience.
Great meal! Great service!
Underwhelmed a bit.
The chicken salad menu item was not well described on the menu. Wife found it displeasing. Server's response to her "dislike" was sort of "oh well" (not that we were asking for anything we were instead suggesting they should improve the menu description).
Lobster salad just OK and certainly overpriced.
Very nice. Excellent preparation and creative.
Totally enjoyed the Club Car. Service was excellent. The food was delicious, the ambience was great. Totally recommend it. Hopefully going back soon.
Really enjoyed our server, the food and the atmosphere
It is hard to find a reasonable restaurant in Nantucket. The Club Car was mentioned by our guide after taking a tour of the island. We were so grateful for the recommendation.
The small plates were a perfect meal for us. The lamb skewers (tapas) were so good, we ordered a second set. Our server was very helpful and made suggestions when she thought our meal choice was too “light”. If we had more time, we would have eaten there twice.
Delicious and amazing!
Pedestrian food. Half pregnant with the Persian influenced cuisine.
Tapas style dining- the food was excellent but the wine list was ridiculous (expensive and had little if anything that was recognizable - and we are not wine novices). Our server, Mary, was superb and very helpful. Overall a delightful evening.
Amazing amazing food, a little pricey depending on how much you want to eat (small plates can add up very quickly), service was eh but the food was so good that we will definitely be back!
