Front and back garden patio available on a first come first serve basis, we will do our best to accommodate requests but we cannot guaratee front or back patio seating.

Colette blends the best of French culture to bring a dynamic dining experience to Porter Square. We strive to leave a lasting impression with our dramatic surroundings, smart wine list, warm and hospitable service, hand-crafted cocktails, and of course, a French inspired menu. Brunch, dinner, or cocktails - welcome to your new home!

We offer a range of small plates, hot and cold, which remix French classics - Mussels, Steak Frites, Salads, along with Cheese and Charcuterie boards and French desserts: Mousse au Chocolat, Crème Brûlée... Everything is made in house with love, we start from scratch everyday.

The star of our drink menu is definitely the wine, But we also serve beers, ciders and cocktails crafted by our mixologists.

We are located in the Porter Square Hotel in Cambridge.

    Our party of four thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Collette. Owen, our server, was attentive and knowledgeable about the food and wine menus. We all enjoyed our appetizers and main courses. The food was delicious and prepared as requested. The atmosphere is charming and quiet. I highly recommend if you are looking for a new dining experience in Porter Square.

    I usually don’t respond to these OpenTable requests to write a review, but we had such a great experience tonight at Colette that I felt motivated to write this review. The food was amazing but what was really special and has stood out in the last few times we’ve gone is a neighborhood place for us is the attitude and helpfulness of the staff. The crew at Colette seems like they are genuinely interested in providing a great and friendly dining experience it’s like having a, great French bistro with a neighborhood feel right around the corner. Highly recommend.

    We arrived early in the dinner hour and got a seat upfront in a less crowded section which was nice. The noise level was a little bothersome since the hard floors and walls seemed to bounce all the noise around. The mussels were plump and juicy but I would have preferred more garlic but wife was fine with them. Her duck was tender and moist. My short ribs were dry and chewy although tasty. Our waiter was great, very attentive and responded quickly to requests.

    A girlfriend and I had such a lovely brunch at Collette recently. Our waiter, Santiago, was very kind and attentive during our stay. The food and drinks were great and the ambience is calm so it was easy to chat at a normal volume. I’ll definitely go back!

    The only thing to really rave about is the waiter Luke W. He was very attentive and helpful. Very careful to check on the table, and give thoughtful recommendations. Food was a disappointment. I had the sole, which was swimming in butter. I like butter, but I actually had to hold the fish on my fork for a bit before eating it to let the butter run off. The sole, asparagus and potatoes all tasted the same - like butter. Companions dinners were equally disappointing.

    We had a great family dinner. Our server was very attentive to my daughter’s egg allergy. He had good recommendations for both food and beverage/knowledgeable about the menu. Will definitely go again soon. More affordable than most French restaurants. Great ambiance!

    We drove quite far to dine at this restaurant as we are new in town. When we arrived, we were surprised to see the restaurant so empty on Saturday lunch time which should be the buzzing time for any good restaurant. We expected a boutique type French restaurant but the photos looked much better than in real life. The food was also very average. I got the salmon eggs Benedict which is my go to weekend brunch choice but it was way too salty and not edible for me. The coffee (Americano) was lukewarm warm and 1/3 full as if someone had not finished making a proper Americano… it was a mystery. I had to ask for some hot water to make it drinkable (seemed more like an espresso in a oversized cup). We will never be back again… The service was also average. The waiter looked/seemed he was angry at something (or having a really bad day) from the beginning. We did not want to stay for dessert and left quite quickly as we did not want to spend more time at this restaurant which did not have good vibing weekend energy.

    We spent Thanksgiving at Colette and it exceeded our expectations. Owen was our server and couldn't have been more attentive or accommodating. Initially we were seated next to a large party with two screaming kids. Owen proactively inquired whether we might like to move, and we were directed to a much more pleasant location in the restaurant. Each member of our party of four LOVED our food. The portions were great, everything was cooked to perfection. Cocktails and wine recommendations were spot on. We won't hesitate to return and recommend it to friends looking for a great neighborhood spot. Thank you!

    Best food I’ve had, probably anywhere in the country! Cocktails, and wine were fabulous. The bartender went above and beyond with “special” requests. Owen, our server was attentive, always there when we needed him but not overboard.

    Service was not great. Waited a long time for entrees and when we asked, our waiter said “they”were waiting for us to finish our salad. We never asked him to hold our food nor did he consult with us about timing our food. Not sure who “they” were. A second glass of wine took forever.

    Nice restaurant, good location. I found the booking process cumbersome because no one answers the phones and when we arrived they seated us in the dark back of the restaurant even though the place was empty, because the other tables were reserved. This confused me as we had a reservation, as well.

    The onion soup had been a standout for years and is now unfortunately a small serving lacking the toasted bread and melted cheese topping. The four small lobster raviolis were overpriced.

    Super tasty food! Went at 8pm, was very loud and bustling, but not too bad. The food was delish, as were the drinks, and given the quality of the food and service the meal wasn’t terribly expensive (130 for 2 people getting drinks apps and duck).

    We had a lovely evening - friendly attentive service. Food was wonderful , beautifully presented ,good quality and value for money. We enjoyed French onion soup, duck vol au vents , brick chicken and halibut with crab raviolis. Would highly recommend !😊

    Excellent service - be sure to get to Luke’s area. Drinks are wonderful. I tried and loved the cosmo Parisienne. Good - loved the gnocchi (pesto not too heavy) loved the lobster ravioli- lots of meat. And the asparagus was superb.

    The staff hasn’t any knowledge of french food and doesn’t care about it which is necessary when you are working in a French restaurant We ordered a cheese and charcuterie plate with Brie and goat cheese. We had to bring it back twice to the kitchen as they didn’t know the difference between Brie and blue cheese and goat cheese and Parmesan. They just brought back again and again the same plate once with blue cheese and Parmesan. The third time we received Brie and Parmesan and let it go for the goat cheese.

    The entire experience at Colette's was amazing! Every dish was delicious, perfectly prepared and presented and the service was excellent! The manager honored our request to be seated in their beautiful garden patio and we were distanced from other customers (because of being immune-compromised) and was very welcoming and personable. The servers were also very attentive and friendly and made the whole experience so relaxing. The Mushroom Buckwheat Crepe is outstanding, a perfect balance of flavors and textures! The Nutella Chocolate Mousse is amazing, with a wonderfully light texture and intense flavors. This was our second visit to Colette's for brunch and we will certainly be returning!!

    We met for a celebratory meal with close friends for Sunday brunch. All went well except for one small but signifiant thing. The front of the menu encourages Bloody Marys, and rightly so because this is such a standard drink for a Sunday brunch.But the restaurant was out of tomato juice! This is hardly a rare and obscure ingredient, and there's a supermarket across the street! But we all enjoyed our meals despite not being able order our Bloody Marys, and we were all pleased to find out that you were not also out of eggs.

    Ambiance was fantastic—fun chandeliers, tropical and floral wall paper, pink velvet couch, great cocktail selection! Food was delicious and portions were generous. Only complaint was very slow and forgetful server who forgot to bring bread to the table, didn’t check in to see how our food was or if we needed anything else, had to flag him over twice for silverware. For a high end dining experience I would have expected better service, otherwise wonderful restaurant!

    Lovely vibey ambiance. Food and service terribly uneven. We saw our server 3 times: once to greet, once to take our order and once to collect our payment. Some portions were hearty, others were laughably minuscule like the paltry slice of avocado toast with barely a layer of avo and few wilted sprouts for $13. Ask your server -- if you can find them -- for recommendations. If you get the lox plate make sure you get an extra smear of cream cheese to supplement the half teaspoon portion that comes with. Don't be shy to send back the wrong order that may well arrive for you. And couldn't they have some breakfast basics like eggs and toast on the brunch menu? Oh precious Cambridge!

    My only complaint is that it was too loud and too dark. There’s no reason it needed to be that dark even if they want a romantic atmosphere. Maybe they need a more sensitive light dimmer.

    Cambridge locals. Arrived promptly for our reservations. As we were being seated, host rudely told us that we had a time limit to eat because "the restaurant was busy". This upscale French restaurant requires you to make reservations with a credit card. We did not expect "fast food restaurant attitude"! Restaurant had run out of several of their menu items. Loud, dark, overpriced. Many patrons were using their phones to read the menu. Sweet potatoes were substituted for watery flavorless butternut squash. Instead of promptly bringing our meals, server kept coming back to eagerly to try to push us to make drink orders. We'd been warned by other Cambridge locals that this restaurant was going downhill. We should have listened. Would not recommend.

    The food was quite good and the service exceptional. But the noise!!! We could barely hear one another. Some soundproofing in the ceiling might help. I wouldn’t return until something changes.
