Colombo Kitchen - Hopper and Kottu Bar

Nice Sri Lankan menu and excellent service. Recommended

Given present situation, we are very grateful to find Colombo Kitchen open. As always food was very good and waiting service excellent. We will be back as soon as we can.

Again a very good meal at Columbo. The atmosphere was affected by small number of diners and COVID safety measures in place.
Service was generally very good and only let down by having to attract the attention of staff to order a second drink

A total gem of a restaurant. Absolutely delicious food, each dish so fresh with such vibrant flavours, and lovely knowledgeable staff who helped us chose. The aubergine dish was my favourite. Highly recommend - and will be getting takeaways over lockdown. xx

There was a lady serving us which is simply I won’t go there a gain because of her bad service
They added a tip on the bill which is not good
I usually leave tip more than they added

Was a really nice visit to the Colombo Kitchen. The food was delicious. We really enjoyed the Mutton Kottu and the Egg Hopper was amazing! We will definitely be going back again.

Great cocktails and good quality wine that goes well with the spicy food. Highly recommend this place to anyone. It is a welcome addition to the WP high street.

We had a wonderful dinner tonight. The food was absolutely fantastic and a lovely waitress served us. The service is friendly and they took the time to explain dishes to me.

The choice of dishes is fantastic - had the chicken Lamprais (a favourite) followed by a Jaggery Hopper and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend.

Delicious food, friendly and attentive staff. Lively atmosphere. There is so much on the menu to try. We love the crab, hoppers, kottu, new paratha and cocktails.

My family and I visited this restaurant after hearing positive reviews. A few issues arose during the course of the meal but we were generally satisfied with the taste and quality of the food. However, we found a strand of hair in two different dishes we ordered. The staff offered to take off the value of the dishes the hairs were found in which we were grateful for. We left slightly disappointed but overall enjoyed the rest of our meal.
About 15mins after leaving we received an appalling phone call accusing us of planting hair in our own food, saying they have CCTV proof and will send us pictures of hair under our table. We were mortified by the accusation. They surprisingly didn't send any photos. We then wrote a review on Google which they responded to with public accusations and then the next day, sent us a text saying if we took our review down from Google they would partly refund our meal. Given that we are in a pandemic and eating out is already a risk, I am appauled by the way we were treated by this restaurant. To make matters worse, we had taken our mother out for a meal after ages as we have been sheltering her due to the virus. We will not be going back there or recommending this restaurant to anyone. If you do decide to go, I sincerely hope our experience was an anomaly and you enjoy better service.

Excellent food would highly recommend , but very noisy when we were in there

So happy with this restaurant food is amazing and very good portion sizes and value for your mo ey. Staff are very helpful even under the strain of these uncertain times. 2nd time I’ve been and I’m definitely going again.

Gave 3 stars as I wish there was a Hopper deal with 1 Egg hopper & 1 or 2 plain hopper(s). I needed a plain hopper after having the egg hopper!

Delicious food - a lovely change from a generic curry. Lively and buzzy atmosphere. Recommend the Lamprai dishes which are sadly only available on the weekend. Will definitely make this a regular.

The food was excellent and being Sri-Lanka cuisine was a little different from the norm.

Food was outstanding, we found it a little bit noisy (for us) as some cooking is done within the restaurant for people to view - but others may enjoy this.

Unfortunately one of the waitresses whisked my main away before I was quite finished with it (albeit there was only a v small amount left) but really she should have asked. However I did not say anything at the time as I got the impression she was very new and it was an honest mistake to make (I noticed the next time around she did ask).
Overall a lovely restaurant with very tasty food. We would definitely return!
