Conrad’s Seafood Restaurant Abingdon
Our server, Zach was so nice & had great menu suggestions. The restaurant was very clean and tables spread apart for social distance eating.
We were hesitant to eat at this location again, due to dissatisfaction with our last meal there. I became very sick, but we tried again because my husband wanted raw oysters and our dinner was very nice
Conrad’s is a fantastic place to eat. They have great staff and excellent fresh seafood. They’re fairly priced and have several locations around Baltimore. Captain Conrad is great as well.
Food is innovative and excellent. Some really special entrees on the menu, presentation is fantastic. Had the texas rubbed tuna cooked rare, served with wilted spinach and root vegetable hash with chorizo. Who else is putting this on the menu?? Wife had the salmon wellington with creamed spinach and au gratin potatoes. Excellent dish and presentation. I can't complement the food enough. Always a great meal. Prices are reasonable.
We made a reservation for 6:30 pm for the outdoor dinning and It was confirmed, but when we got there we were told it’s first available table and hostess could not tell us how long we would need to wait. We left and went to another restaurant close by.
Conrads has definitely has their business interrupted by the COVID crisis, as traffic on a Monday night was light, even for Trivia night. We used to pre-COVID and the crowd was better, but... One of the reasons for light traffic is some of the menu items are a little pricey for a pub atmosphere. It's hard to pay over $25 for a menu item in a bar. There are many fine-dining choices in the area that are more competitive. More choices of appetizers would help...
Another suggestion would be to do an all-you-can-eat crab special in-season. They do have a crab feast for 2 on the menu, but a dozen small crabs for 2 people is hardly a feast for $40, especially in September/October when live crabs are selling for $10/dozen on the street. All in all, they have good food, decent service. Just need to fine-tune the menu and ad some ambiance.
Server was non attentive. After he took the initial drink order, he did not return for 15 min to take dinner order. He did not return to the table while we were eating. My wife flagged him down for the check. It took him another 10 min to bring the check to the table. He left after dropping it off and did not return for 10 more minutes. He did take credit card and returned immediately with the receipt to sign. He never checked to see if we needed refills or additional items. The restaurant was not very busy. The server would disappear into the kitchen, wait station or the seating behind the bar for long periods of time. The food was very good and the atmosphere is what we expected. Shame the server did not have the ability to perform his job adequately. We are frequent dinners of Conrad's, but we may think twice about returning anytime soon.
Crabs were nice and heavy and steamed perfectly
The service was great, the food just could have tasted better.
Mary our server was pleasant aware of specials and attentive! Our lunch did not disapoint!
Steamed crabs were service hot and delicious. Street corn was yummy, too.
Crab cakes were good.
Excellent as always. Tuna Crudo was awesome as well as the peach salad.
Great family atmosphere . Great service and friendly staff
Make sure you make reservations on weekend nights as they are very crowded. The food was very good and had some items I haven't seen on a menu in quite a while. If you are a Marylander you will find Fried Hard Crab and Crab Fluffs on the the menu. The portions were decent size. I enjoyed the Fried Hard Crab and my husband had the crab fluffs. One of our friends got the Jambalaya and one had the Fish and Chips. He said the batter on the Fish was a bit heavy but he enjoyed it. The service was very good and we were not rushed. We will go back again.
Conrad's is okay. There are other restaurants in the Bel Air area that are less expensive with better food. We will probably not go back again. This is not a horrible restaurant by any means. It's just that there are much better for less money. The waitstaff was pleasant. The food was okay. It was a bit pricey. If you want to go to a restaurant that is okay and in the Abingdon area (rather than Bel Air) then try Conrad's. I will say that by the time we were leaving--around 8 pm, there was an abundance of open tables. The bar never got fully seated. We were there for dinner on a Friday at 6:30 pm. The good thing about Conrad's is that you can get a seat without much of a wait which is very unusual for a Friday night in this area.
We are regulars at Conrad's and probably on average eat there once a month with our family. My 2 year old loves the popcorn and playground. There is enough of a variety on the menu so that my older 2 teenage boys and my husband and myself can find something we all enjoy eating. However, the food was not as great compared to our previous outings. The chicken tenders for my 2 year old looked like they were sitting under the warming lights for some time. The fries that came with his dinner and my brother's looked like the leftovers from the day but we were eating at prime dinner time around 6:30pm. The prosecco in my drink was flat but I was given another drink after I indicated it was flat. The drink itself was not as good as it was on our last occasion. Not sure if there were different cooks but it was not our best dinner at Conrad's that night.
FOOD SERVICE AND QUALITY WAS VERY ACCEPTABLE AND SUPRISING AS I HAVE
VISITED THE RESTAURANT ON BELAIR RD AND WASN'T VERY IMPRESSED.
THE WAITESS WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND THE FOOD WAS ABOVE EXPECTATIONS.
WOULD DEFINITELY VISIT AGAIN AND RECOMMEND TO FRIENDS.
The food was delicious and the service was very efficient. Great place to hang out with friends.
When we walked in the door we were greeted by the host. I told her that we have an appointment for 2 via open table at 7pm. She immediately corrected me and said “no you have a reservation at 7p” the. Asked for my name. She walked us to the table. As she was laying the menus I asked could we get a booth instead because they were larger and 2 were unoccupied. She immediately cut me off and said, “no, they’re unavailable. They have been prereserved all day”. I digressed. We sat at the table. No one sat at the booth the entire time. I also ordered the “Steak and cake”. I ordered the steak medium well, but it was very well done. The rest of my meal was ok. I took it to go.
The food was very over cooked and seemed to be old
Our waitress was great.
Made reservations 2 weeks before Valentines Day. When I arrived with my wife, they seated us literally at a picnic table with a tablecloth on their enclosed patio — on a 25-degree night! It wasn’t cold but hardly cozy. When you’d have more “atmosphere” at your own kitchen table, you know something is wrong. I could have, perhaps should have, complained, but didn’t want to make a to-do on V-Night. We got seated promptly at 7 pm and got waited on right away. We ordered. They did bring my Maryland crab soup which was tasty. But it was 8 pm before we saw our salad, which arrived with the dinner. The waitress did apologize without us saying a word, and said they would “take $ off the bill or pack up the salads for take home if we prefer.” We said the discount would be fine since we wanted the salad with our meals. My wife’s steak was good. My salmon pad thai was overcooked, but not worth sending back. The waitress returned and instead of “$ off the bill,” said “how about free desserts.” We took those to go. Honestly, my wife and I were joyful 2 years ago when we heard Conrad’s was opening near our home in Harford County. We had enjoyed their Perry Hall location on several occasions. But now I am less excited that Conrad’s opened near me. The restaurant’s interior, left over from a prior failed restaurant, is unappealing. The food was OK. And you don’t come to a restaurant to be seated at a picnic table unless you’re ordering crabs perhaps, which we said we weren’t a day earlier when the receptionist specifically asked me during our call back to confirm the reservation. Honestly, you don’t go out to eat, especially on an occasion night, to arm wrestle with the wait staff about the service or the food. It’s a competitive environment out there. I didn’t leave Conrad’s feeling they were up to it, certainly not at their Abingdon location.
Ran late for our Valentine's reservation; they were very nice and accommodating. Unfortunately, noise level was exceptionally loud and service was spotty. Filet mignon was tough and stringy. Chesapeake Risotto SHOULD have, ideally, been topped with pile of seafood. Instead, rice was topped with a large piece of halibut, with 5 tail-on shrimp on one side, and half a crab laying on the other. There were no utensils provided to pick the crab out with, so it was basically useless. The cinnamon roll for dessert was bland and tasted like it came from a low-end grocery store.
While I found the service here to be excellent I thought the food was not quite as good as their Perry Hall restaurant.
A good menu, pleasant people, and the food was very good. It was the first time at this restaurant and we will be going again.
Friend of ours 70th birthday . Our waiter kept forgetting things we requested. Looks like a lot of people and not enough help
Delicious food! Was seated right away! My crab cake was delicious but not very hot for how busy it was. Would love to go back and try again!
Crab fluff and fried hard crab were excellent! So was the homemade ice cream.
Excellent food and very friendly staff. We had another great meal at Conrad’s with the family. Looking forward to our next visit!
Have been here at least 4 times and never disappointed with the food or service. Both are consistently top notch!
We arrived early and were offered seatings at the bar which was nice. Tara took great care of us. The drinks were tasty, the beer was ice cold, the appetizers were delicious and our entrees were served hot and all 4 adults enjoyed our meals.
My husband and I got together with 2 other couples. We had reservations and were seated right away. The service and waitress were excellent. The food was hot and very good when it came to the table. The music was VERY loud and they did turn it down some for us. Unfortunately, they had a DJ that night playing games, so the noise level went back to loud again. I’ve been there often for lunch and will definitely be going back, but not on football or DJ nights.
Request o be put in a quieter spot so we could talk
Service was very good. Nice assortment of seafood dishes on the menu. Food came out quick.
I would have preferred being in the main part of the restaurant since we were ordering off the menu and not eating crabs. Sitting at the picnic tables in the extended part of the restaurant was uncomfortable and a little bit chilly.
The soup and salad lunch special is amazing! You can tell it's all fresh homemade ingredients, lots of flavor and the price is great too!
We were seated at a picnic table in an enclosed deck even thought I requested seating in the main area of the restaurant. The seats were very uncomfortable since they had no backs and there was no where to hang out coats. 3 of us have back issues and that fact that these are picnic benches with no backs was painful for those people. One of us had her jacket on the floor and it was wet when she picked it up. And it was very drafty since we were seated by the outside door.
Service was great. The crab soup blend is wonderful. Our friends loved the fried oysters! Looking forward to getting back there soon and try another seafood special.
My families meals were good. The menu should have clarification that if the” catch of the day” ordered it may come as the entire fish and not a filet of the particular fish.
Best ever Oyster’s Rockefeller ! Crabs were outstanding.
