Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Reston
Lovely dinner—the Mexican drunken shrimp and the calamari were very good appetizers. The potato encrusted scallops were amazing. We’ll be back.
Loud, felt like a cafeteria. Food was mediocre at best.
Our appetizers were delicious. They were served & within 4 minutes, the entrees were served. We sent them back to the kitchen.
The portions are enormous (TOO large). The description for mine was very misleading: Crispy Asian Pork was more like overdone there was nothing Asian about the pork. My boyfriend’s short ribs were supposed to be in a wine sauce but tasted more like a simple buttery brown sauce. VERY DISAPPOINTING. When the bill arrived, we realized my mixed drink had been made w/ a lesser grade vodka. On the way out, we thought we’d treat ourselves to the chocolate desserts. They were tasteless & a total waste of calories. I’d go back for a drink/ appetizers but would not recommend dinner there.
Food and service was outstanding.
I have been to Cooper's Hawk many times and we are also Club Members. We have always enjoyed our visit every time we go. However, this time, the service was very slow . The hostess seemed less than enthused that we were there, it took a while for us to be seated (4:45pm on a Sunday with a 5pm reservation) and once seated, it was about 10 minutes until our server arrived at our table. She was very pleasant, but she wasn't as knowledgeable about the wines as our previous servers. The food came out quickly once we ordered and was wonderful, but our server was no where to be found when we needed her. Short and sweet - food is wonderful, wine is great, but the service needs to be improved.
Very nice and upscale casual restaurant. The food and ambiance was great. I enjoyed every minute of my lunch here. I sat alone and my waiter was very attentive. He observed when I was done eating, when my water needed to be refilled and when I was ready for my bill. He did not try to sell me any dessert and was nice enough to explain an issue I had with the menu.
Always great food and service was phenomenal! Nate made our dinner with friends a fun night to remember!
Our server, Alyssa, was top notch from start to finish. Experience a whole was great, as usual.
Cooper’s Hawk is on our short list of dine-worthy restaurants that are more than 10 miles from home. The food is ample and nicely presented, service is consistently good, and the wine pairings are spot on.
Fantastic food, service and experience. Highly recommend - exceptional gluten menu and plenty of choices all around.
This restaurant has a great food and wine.
We celebrated a birthday during this visit. The waitress was the best. She made us feel comfortable and remembered the birthday girl as a customer from a month before.
It was our first time at this restaurant. The rave reviews we heard from friends were all true!
Malcolm who was our server was excellent. He was pleasant and knowledgeable about the food and wine. He paid attention to the needs at my table and we had a great dining experience.
Went here for a dinner after work. Place was hopping. Enjoyed the set up. Will definitely go back
My husband and I went for a date night to Cooper's - one of our favorite places to go. This was my first being gluten free. Our waiter, Jordan C was beyond helpful in recommendations from appetizers to desserts. Everything he recommended was fabulous. We wanted Ahi Tuna Tacos as an appetizer. I asked if the taco was corn or wheat. He knew exactly what was gluten free and not and said they could wrap it in lettuce leaves instead of the taco. They were fantastic! He then provided me with a gluten free menu so I could order safely.
My daughter and I love Cooper’s Hawk. We love the food and wine, however our bruschetta was cold this time. All the waiters are awesome.
We are members of the CH wine club and usually combine dinner with our monthly tasting. The food is always excellent and we love their wines.
I love this spot. I usually stick to the tastings. Resturaunt service is hit or miss.
Malcolm our server was fantastic and VERY accommodating. I was disappointed with the host staff as they were not as attentive as they could have been and ignored a request I made - did not even respond.
The food was very good. The service was questionable from our server.
First time at this location. Clearly, its is a wine bar and a restaurant second. Popular with the younger generation; especially at happy hour.
My son in laws birthday we celebrated with a good Pinot Noir and delicious Coopers Hawk ale. The food was amazing and service was excellent, the manager even greeted us and stop by our table. There was wait time, they were ready for us when we came and the food was fast and hot. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!
Excellent as usual... service quality and price.
Great service and atmosphere!! Took my wife there for her birthday and everything was incredibly delicious and fairly price.
Another great experience. Our waiter, Nate, was great also.
Tables were way to close and felt like people were on top of each other; it was way too noisy as well. Service was on the slow side, had to ask for crushed pepper after meal was served and waited too long for it! Was really looking forward to dining there but the entire experience was underwhelming.
This wasn’t our best visit to Cooper’s Hawk due to the service. We never received our appetizer, and the meals came out. The appetizer did come, but after we said something & our meals were on the table. The manager said he would comp the appetizer, but that didn’t happen (so we had to ask about it when the check arrived). The server we had wasn’t as good as most previous visits to Cooper’s Hawk. Usually, the service there is great, but it definitely left something to be desired this time!
I was very clear to the waiter.. is the crabcake lump crabmeat?
He said yes I describe the a lump meat crabcake and he said it was truly lump crabmeat IT WAS NOT!
I was very disappointed
He offered to change the meal but by that time it was too late and my guests were wrapping up their dinner
I did not enjoy my meal and it put a damper on the evening
Everything was perfect except for the dangerously slippery floor. I am currently using crutches and was very lucky not to have another fall. It was as if the floor hadn’t been rinsed properly. Otherwise we were extremely pleased with our visit.
We went for my husbands birthday since we got a gift card. We asked for Gabriel as always and he didn’t disappoint. Our meal is always great and dinning their always brings us joy.
Took the family out for our son’s last night home. Fantastic dinner. Jordan our waiter was excellent the food was fantastic.
You do a great job!! Good food, great service, nice atmosphere, keep it up !
I've been to the Reston , VA locations about 15 times and I'm a wine club member. Our last meal where we bought guests was a disappointment. Service was very slow. The portion (gouper ) was VERY small and but they loaded up big time on the mashed potato to fill the plate . The chicken, sausage and pasta dish again was loaded with pasta and Vodka sauce but really lacked the chicken and pasta . (3 of those)
When we first started going things were better including the service. We've also recently experienced the same at the Ashburn , VA location and were told by the manager they struggle to get good help.
We have been to Cooper’s Hawks for lunch and dinner many times and had excellent service, so knowing that this was my newlywed daughter’s favorite restaurant we decided to take her and our new son in law to Cooper Hawks for dinner before they left for their honeymoon. Our wait person was not attentive. My son in law had a bug in his wine, when we got his attention took the wine and took forever to bring another, never really being apologetic, but the table over from us received their food while still eating their salads and a manager came over to them with all kinds of apology’s while we are still waiting for bread which we never received. Finally son in law received replacement glass of wine. My water was never refilled, all in all a bad experience. Then comes the check charged for 2 glasses of wine instead of one which should of been at happy hour prices. If I hadn’t gone over the check we would of been over charged, the wait person comment oh I meant to take that! I think it will be a long time before we come back.
Reservation at 5:15, we were seated early which was nice. No one really there but the. salads didn’t come until 6pm and entrees at 6:40pm. We went to have an early, quick dinner before going out but ended up there for over two hours for a two person dinner (no apps ordered). After we said something the server apologized and said kitchen was running short staffed but nothing was done to set our expectations in advance that we would have to wait. Food was good but didn’t make up for the long wait.
