Cork Bar & Restaurant
We were trying to make a 7:00 show at the event center. We were a two top that arrived at 5:00. By 6:30 our entrées had not come out yet
Salads, crab cakes and pappardelle all were fantastic. Service was quick and attentive. Overall a perfect pre-show meal and experience.
What a great place to eat! This is my favorite restaurant in Wilkes Barre. The food is top shelf, the seating is really nice, the specials are always excellent, and there's nowhere else quite like it in town.
45 minutes before we were even approached by a server. If you are too busy/ short staffed don’t accept reservations
Sat for almost 40 minutes never got drinks waitress took care of other tables and we only got menus after sitting for the first 15 minutes after 40 minutes we got up and left. Every other restaurant was on an hour plus wait. We were late getting home to our sitter only to have had bar like food. Very disappointed!
Amazing service and delicious food, as always!!!
The drinks were really good, the food was excellent, the service was average at best. We had 2 guests in our group who were gluten free & our waitress had no idea what was ok for them when asked about appetizers. She was supposed to check & never returned until after other guests at our table were almost done with the appetizer that they ordered. She then wasn’t sure about which entrees were gluten free & had to return with someone else after taking our order. I even added that our group had 2 gluten free guests when I made the reservation. I picked Cork because the menu looked good & the gluten free options were marked on the menu. Apparently the menu has been changed & they no longer highlight gluten free items. Very disappointing!
We were really happy with the quality of food and the service.
First time there. Will most definitely be back. From the appetizers, cocktails,to the entrees everything was outstanding,
Had to complain to get service. Server then had the nerve to state they heard we were not happy with their service. Kuddos to the other servers working that evening.
From the rolls with flavored butter to the coconut cream cake for dessert, we love this place. Nothing better than eating al fresco with a couple of hand crafted drinks.
We went for an early dinner, 5pm, since we had a child with us. The server was so sweet to all of us and very personable. The food was spectacular and everything came out in a timely manner. Definitely will be back!
I hadn't been to Cork since the Plandemic hit and was surprised to see the outside dining tent. We opted to eat outside instead of the upstairs dining room inside the main building; I did battle with one mosquito who left me wounded with a bump on my cheek, but I did win the war in the end!
The lighting was low and I had a difficult time reading the small print on the menus. Nevertheless, I made good choices from both the cocktail and main Menus. The cocktail menu was adequate and the confections excellent and stiff. I thoroughly enjoyed the perfectly cooked calamari appetizer, and my wife and I enjoyed both of our pasta meals.
The service was prompt, playful, and courteous and never left us in wait for very long. Thanks Ashleigh! The only thing I didn't like was getting my salad dropped in front of me while I was digging into my calamari. But, one does go to a restaurant to eat after all, and there was enough room on the table for both.
Everything we tried was delicious - eggplant appetizer and pasta dishes. Server were very good. Would definitely recommend.
Extremely subpar service. Which was noted in multiple reviews. Portion size good; almost too much. Expect to spend hours if you do go.
Awesome food and service!
They turned OFF the LIGHTS on us as my party of 5, still clearly seated, was harboring our put away boxes. We hadn’t paid our bill yet, awaiting our server ....nonetheless still tipped well. I was granted a dessert not of my choice for that inconvenience, after all 25th birthdays do only come once. Didn’t eat it though, might have been spit in it. Just my blatant opinion
Excellent service great ambiance and a real gem in the middle of Wilkes-Barre.
Good and service were very good, and deserves to be complimented. We chose to eat indoors because of humid, stormy weather. There was a large party near us which raised the noise level to a point where it affected our ability to converse and impeded the enjoyment of the meal. I think the location in an old house offers some charm but also limits what they can do with seating.
Hated the outdoor seating under the tent on blacktop. Food was only ok. Service was only ok... we were constantly out of water.
Big fan of Friedman restaurants (like an every-weekend thing), but in no hurry to return to Cork.
The place is small inside so we were seated outside under a huge tent. Although it was cold and rainy, we were seated beside a heater that kept us surprisingly warm. The food was amazingly good (toffee cheesecake not pictured) and the entire staff were pleasant. Shockingly, another guest paid for our entire meal but wanted to remain anonymous (thank you 10x over to whoever you are)! I would definitely go again the next time I visit Wilkes-Barre.
We went to Cork to celebrate Mother’s Day. We ate in their large tent outside, which felt very safe, and everyone really loved their meals. Great experience overall!
I wish I knew we were going to be outside before I booked
Excellent as always! Will continue to go back as often as possible!
Despite so many recommendations from others, dinner was nothing special. The short ribs were nothing more than dry pot roast. My husband barely choked down his chicken. Won’t be returning.
Our server was very attentive to our table. The food was excellent. We’ll definitely be back soon.
Food is always very good. Service is always slow lately
Was intown for a pickleball tournament with friends and decided to try this place out. it was fantastic. home made pasta , deserts everything from the drinks to the desert was delicious.
We had a table in the outside tent so we were a bit chilly from the waist down. Used a coat to keep my legs warm and my coat got very wet. I didn’t realize the ground was wet from snow melting and running down the parking lot.
Great food. Good service. Environment is good for Covid issues.
The service was wonderful and the waitress and staff went above and beyond
Had a very good meal at The Cork. Food was excellent and portions were very generous. We were seated outside in a big tent - it was very cold that night so it was a little chilly in our section of the tent, and service was bit slow, but it was Saturday night on Valentine's weekend so we were fine with it. Would definitely go there again.
First time there. Won’t be back. Food was decent. Service was awful. Waited 20 minutes for menus. Over an hour for appetizers, they forgot salads, meals came on cold plates and like they had been sitting under a heat lamp. Warm on top, cold through out. Watched the bartender take straw-fulls of beverages she was making. Kept touching her mask to pull it down to talk to wait staff. Very disappointed for a place we traveled an hour to get to.
My husband and I had a great experience at Cork. The drinks were creative as was the menu. Both the specials and the regular offerings were interesting, tasty, fun, and a departure from the same old same old we see at many restaurants in this area. We share the edamame dumplings which were crisp with a tasty filling, and served at the perfect temperature. My husband has a pulled short rib pappardelle, and I had an eggplant special. Everything was perfect including the Sicilian rum cake for dessert. I would go back for that cake alone! The ambience was inviting and fun, we are so glad we went
Wasn’t happy when the waitress moved a heater in the tent to accommodate another table to help keep them warmer. We were sitting right next to the opening and were very comfortable until the heater was moved and then we’re freezing. If you have heaters strategically placed then they should be left that way. Otherwise everything else was excellent!
We were very well pleased with our drinks, appetizers, and entrees. My wife is looking forward to returning on her birthday.
This was our first dining experience here but we likely won't return.
Service was not desirable. The long waits were understandable due to the long walk out to the tent, but the servers attitude wasn't spectacular. She was condescending at times.
Our entrees were disappointing, and heads up everything tends to be much sweeter than you would expect. The highlights of the night were the Blood Orange Moscow Mule and the lobster dip. (It was delicious!!)
The price was comparable to other Friedman restaurants, but it did not hold up to the same standard. I would much rather eat at Kevins, Gricos, Fire & Ice, etc.
Excellent food! Great service
Great as always. Love this place.
