Cowboy Brazilian Steakhouse - North Charleston
Overall meat quality was very good, some cuts were a little chewy and lacked flavor. Other meats had more .. excellent salad bar and good side bar. Wife had a drink that was very weak. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Great place for a change of dining experience. If you leave hungry it's your own fault.
Sad they get a bad rating based on a server but that’s a good part of the experience, goes hand-in-hand. And reading other reviews I’m not alone. But make no mistake, food was top notch and frequency they come around with different meat nonstop. So 5 stars there!
Monday 26th, 7:45-Close: Server was Cynthia and even though they were 1/3 capacity, she was running around as if busy nonstop. So first mistake is rushing around fast everywhere like you’re trying to beat the clock when customers are trying to slow down, take it easy and enjoy themselves. Stop displaying how busy you are, you will NOT see that in any nice restaurant. Strike 1.
Now it’s a BUFFET and everyone knows you don’t tip the standard rate. So why they have 15, 20 and 25% amounts shown on receipt I’m not sure. Still, it’s an upper class place and the times I’ve been I had no problem tipping a “fair” amount on a $100 bill, what it costs for 2 people @ $42 each plus drinks/ tax. So I leave $12. That’s the most I’m going to tip when I’m serving myself and the only thing I’m tipping on is for them to clear the plates and occasional refill. I’m not going to tip more because their buffet is more expensive than the normal $20 cheap one. Server labor is exact same!
My point is since she knows this you would think she would go out of her way to give extra extra good service to entice a normal tip. And perhaps if she wouldn’t have been running around crazy fast she would’ve noticed she never ONCE cleared the many, many plates on our table, piled high with gloves until the end and I asked for the receipt. That’s a day late and a tip dollar short, considering it’s a buffet and the ONLY thing she really has to do to earn a tip is to clear the freaking plates!!!
Even when she brought me one refill and I moved the plates to the end of the table with my empty coke glass as a “hint hint” so she couldn’t miss it she STILL dropped the coke and ran off! So if I am serving myself and no one is clear
The meat was dry
Our waitress by far was the worst we ever experienced there. We are not used to having to flag her down for drinks. The four of them were more interested in chatting at the greeters station than paying attention to our needs. When we made the reservation, we did note it was out 35th anniversary . No one ever said one word. Drinks remained unfilled. There also was not the normal choices of food we are accustomed to. For what we pay. We expect better service.
Thanks for great service and everything from the bar and meat selections were outstanding! Fully satisfied!!
It's awesome will be going back
Very disappointed in the quality of food, salad var and hot bar. I had to ask for my drinks, I had a bug on my table. The manager comes over, squashed the bug and left. Saying nothing, I had several flies I had to fight with.
Was not sure what to expect as we’ed never eaten at a Brazilian steakhouse before. Was a wee bit trepidatious when I saw the buffet set-ups, but fear not! This was unlike any other buffet I’ve ever eaten at. The food and service were both amazing. Everything we tried, we loved. Best salad bar I’ve ever seen. Very clean, with many delicious choices. The hot sides were very yummy. And the different proteins brought by the Gauchos that we sampled were all extremely good. All the staff were attentive and welcoming. Restroom was clean. The background dining music was some lovely soothing Brazilian pop. Really appreciated the low volume level, which made it enjoyable, but not obtrusive. My only “complaint” is that it was not inexpensive. I’d love to dine there more often, but at nearly $150 for 2 of us (included alcohol and 1 dessert and the tip), we won’t be dining there except for special occasions. Maybe they offer coupons or early bird pricing! That would be nice. There were quite a few families with small children in tow...they must offer some decent price breaks for kids, or I don’t see how it could be affordable at all.
It was great I will be going back
Staff made the night a great experience. The food bar it self has taking a turn for the worst. The main attraction of the Brazilian (steak) house was mediocre at best.. Brisket was very dry, rest of the beef was ok. Plus the cost when up quality went down.
Go there for the met, not the sides. The meat was exceptional, sides were terrible.
We went on a groupon deal. Would not go without the coupon due to the expense of the food. Overall, the food was good, but make sure you go hungry. It is a lot of food.
First time at a Brazilian Steakhouse and we were not disappointed! We were early for our reservation and immediately seated. The staff were genuinely friendly and made us feel very comfortable. To say the food was outstanding is an UNDERSTATEMENT! Everything was cooked to perfection. The only thing that would improve this restaurant would be a nap room!! We will be back!!
Not great service. Waitress was not very friendly and barely ever stopped by. Much of the meat was very, very rare. The Parmesan chicken was very dry. Salad items were OK but not great. Beans were cold. Despite having a nearly empty restaurant, everyone was squeezed together without appropriate spacing, especially during COVID. Overall, I’ve eaten at better for less $ and definitely not a great Brazilian steakhouse.
There is no system with bringing food to the table. You basically have to ask for everything or you won’t get it. We missed out on so many meats due to everything being finished before it reached our table and they didn’t start where they left off.
Food was subpar for the price and the ambiance was not like other Brazilian Steakhouses
Was charged an 18% automatic gratuity what was not advertised anywhere and was not told about it. What made it worse was that the service did not earn the tip. The waitress only refilled our drinks once and only after we had to flag her down because all the drinks where empty. Plates built up on the table without being taken, again because she never came by. Additionally the meat servers where often asked for an item but since there was another large table by ours which always was served first by the time they came the item was very limited or gone entirely. Not only did they charge that automatic gratuity but then showed an extra gratuity on the bottom which was calculated including the tax and automatic gratuity... I think not!!! Have been a few time to give them a second chance but the pore service seems to be a constant. I would recommend spending your money else where.
If you prefer your meat more on the medium to rare side then definitely go somewhere else as the base temperature is aways on the medium to well done side.
Great place, the only take a way is the sangria drinks suck.
The restaurant was mostly empty, never more than 3-4 tables at a time while we were there. The staff and service was fantastic; they were very attentive and friendly without being over the top. The only down side was the meat itself. Several of the pieces, including the house special sirloin and the flank steak were simply divine, but several of the other selections, such as the parmesan chicken, parmesan pork chop and the bacon-wrapped chicken were surprisingly dry, and for me, inedible. Given the price of the meal, I would expect that to be a one-off, not about half of the meat I experienced. Unfortunately, next time we are looking for a special occasion, we'll try something else.
This is the 3rd time my wife and I have visited your restaurant and each time it has been great. This time we also had our daughter, son, daughter in law and grandson for our son's birthday and everyone enjoyed the meal. It is an experience to eat at your restaurant. You have plenty to choose from and the servers did a great job of offering us different meats to choose from. Again COWBOY BRAZILIAN STEAKHOUSE in North Charleston SC us well worth the trip. We will be back!
This place is ok. Some of the waiters passed us even though our green card was showing.... we had to ask for certain foods because mostly they bought us steak. It's a good restaurant but not worth the money and it was long waits in between waiting for meat. We went when it wasn't busy.
Loved it was awesome had great food we loved the lamb and salads selection will go back again
This was my first time eating at Cowboy Brazilian and it was a wonderful experience. Everything was good, the food and the service. Will frequently visit.
The service was horrible we were seated and waited 5 minutes for a server to come take our drink order. No one came so we left and will never be back.
I have been to the one in Columbia Sc and had a great experience. Was in the area and wanted to try this location. We walked in and found the atmosphere beautiful. We were sat next to a table of 17 which made our experience not so good. At first we got good service but the waitress did not give us refills and the flavor and tenderness of the meats was not good at all! Very disappointed in this location.
Restaurant was clean and followed all protocols. Food was very good and plentiful.
If you love meat, can’t be beat! Great food, great service.
Great food and great service! Our server was wonderful....thumbs up!
The food was not great, everything tasted bland and unseasoned. I thought I was the only one but when another customer complained to the manager about the same thing, I knew something wasn’t right. Did not enjoy my experience at all.
My daughter and I had a wonderful relaxing dinner. Food was excellent as well as the service. Would definitely return.
Always a solid experience.
Made reservations while we were in Charleston for our anniversary. We were deciding between 2 restaurants with the same concept. This one was closest to our hotel. We had a wonderful night. The place was clean and service was excellent. There was a constant flow of meat being presented at our table. Could get overwhelming after the 5th or 6th time. There was no pressure to take what they offered. Everything we chose was cooked beautifully.
Gabby was our server and was awesome! Food was delicious, we had never been to a Brazilian steakhouse where the sides were self serve; very cool experience! Only “criticism” would be to have an in and out door for the staff so there aren’t any accidents or collisions! But that’s truly the only criticism
I was a bit disappointed my last visit, valentines day. I understand with COVID things are tight but the selection of food was on the cheap side. My wife and I have been going here 3-4 times a year but admittedly not since COVID. Usually we find smoked salmon on he food bar and a large selection of choice meats. This visit it was boiled shrimp, as in the kind you find at Chinese buffets, and the steaks were almost exclusively sirloin. Sirloin is fine for Ryan's or Applebee's but not for here at these prices. granted they did have bacon wrapped filet and lamb but it was rarely offered at the table. i had to ask 4 times to get prime rib, It was as if the hated to bring it out. Not going back until after COVID beause of this.
Loved it. I had the best time and the food was excellent.
I was very please at the level of service and the quality of the food. I also felt very safe considering how strict and rigid the guidelines are for safety. I never felt at any point that I was being compromised. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone concerned with social distancing and of course because the food and service are amazing.
Good food, would highly recommend. Are party enjoyed ourselves greatly.
A very enjoyable experience. Great food and service.
Birthday dinner with friends
A meat lover's apocalypse. My wife and I come here every year for our anniversary.
