Craft Table & Bar - Worcester

Waited 10 minutes for someone to come to the table. When waiter finally arrived to take drink orders, another one brought water and said he would be our waiter. Finally got drinks and places dinner order. While waiting a long time for dinner, we needed our drinks refilled. We made eye contact with waiter as he was walking by to serve a bottle of wine three tables down. He spent over 15 minutes at that table. Our food was brought out by a server. I asked her to refill our drinks. She said she couldn’t buy would let our waiter know we wanted a refill. Eight minutes later, the waiter brought drinks and apologized because he spilled them and was waiting for new ones. All in all it took over an hour from the time we placed our order to the time we were served.
They were sold out of two items we’d ordered. Salad and dessert both came incorrectly. Food wasn’t very good.
Food was a huge letdown.
Brussels sprout appetizer was too dry, lamb bolonaise was eh, and molten lava dessert was dry.
service was non-existent.
Nice decor, but wont be back
This was our second visit to Craft table. This time we wanted to try their very substantial looking Restaurant Week menu for only $25.00 per person. I had the Winter salad- excellent, the steak- only ok, and one of the scrumptious cakes offered for dessert. My partner was equally pleased with our food and experience. We will for sure be back.
Such a cute place but our waitress was non existant for most of the time except after bill was brought to us. They were not very accommodating to an allergy of one of my friends. Food took over an hour to hit the table. Hopefully just an off night.
Food was very good with great taste. Waitress was not very friendly!
Phenomenal! Will definitely be going back in the future.
It was Valentines weekend and seemed that they were not prepared for it. They were out of many of the menu items that seemed interesting including drinks from the bar. The drinks that we did have were not anything special as in a craft. Basic drinks that can be made at home. The bar is loud and open to the dining area. The food was was tasty but pricy for the whole package. Seems like they need to figure out what type of place they want to be. Do they want to be a fun hip bar that has good food? Then maybe they Should cut the cost of the dishes by creating small plate items and bring more craft style drinks with clear ice, infused bitters, add some smoked wood... do they want to be a pricey fine dining restaurant? The eliminate the televisions behind the bar, add jazz music or something of that nature and more of the exotic food that they sell out of.
Let me start by saying what we ate was delicious and the manager made up for the poor service. We had a 7pm reservation on a Saturday. Our waitress seemed frantic although they didn't seem that busy, maybe 85% of the tables were full. When taking our order, she informed us that they were out of two entrees, but when we tried to order an appetizer she told us they were out of that too. I overheard her tell other tables about other items they were out of and when we asked for dessert menus we were told "We only have Cheesecake left.". Two of our entrees came pretty promptly, but after 5 minutes we had to ask about the other two. They brought them out a couple minutes later, but one of them was wrong, something that we had already received. By the time the correct dish arrived, the first two were done with their entrees. I hope this was an anomaly for them, as I said the food, once we got it, was good.
I would say everything about this place is delivering at 50%. The service was pretty bad, actually quite slow. It was about 25 minutes between drinks and salad - they don’t offer bread. When we ordered the truffle fries to pass the time, they arrived cold. My husband ordered the cod - half of it was raw. Everyone else ordered the statler chicken - we were served Cornish Game Hens. Now in this day and age with everyone having food allergies and diet restrictions, to substitute like that unannounced is really unacceptable. On the whole though, things were well prepared (besides the cod) but the attempted deception is kind of pathetic and devious. I’m not sure I’d go back with so many more interesting alternatives in the city.
Service was bad, since we asked for a burger with no cheese or onions and it came with both so we had to send it back. The other order was short ribs and it was half fat, half meat.
The service was extremely slow and no one moved with any sense of urgency. The food was served late and was warm, but not hot. Overall it was a poor experience.
Great menu, every entree sounded great to me. Food was ok at a high price though. Overall fine dining experience, but we won't be going back.
Great food, the oxtail with grits was top notch as were the short ribs and pork tenderloin
Massive portions but 2 choices for appetizers and an ebb tree were not available
It’s valentines weekend, prep up and order more stick!
Place was full by 5:30 and it was uncomfortably cold in the dining room
Service was completely lackluster, no personality
Couldn’t make a recommendation on anything, took 20 minutes to get a beer and glass if wine both times and after 2 hours we asked for our check because we had theatre tix. We only had 2 courses, so that will give you an idea of how slow service is
I’ll be back but they have work to do and only get one more chance
Parking is horrible unfortunately due to the location. Seated quickly and treated well. Our server was excellent though I think she and the others were a little overwhelmed due to the volume. Food was very good though the mashed potatoes were brought out cold initially and Luke-warm subsequently. Overall nice place with clean bathrooms and very friendly staff.
Nice meal for Valentine’s Day. Food was great. Walked right In With no wait thanks to the reservations in the app. Had never heard of this place beforehand. Glad I found it. Nice atmosphere and service. Food was really good. Some of the best short ribs I’ve had. Will be back.
Chef Terrell has an innate ability to weave unique flavors together in a way that delivers amazing farm to table experiences. For the V day menu we were disappointed in how much rosemary was used in the potato dish with the steak and dessert was dry and not good - HOWEVER, the appetizer was amazing, the steak was cooked perfectly and the salmon was alluring! Our usual experiences there are all fantastic so perhaps the mass producing prep for V day hurt this a little but either way we highly recommend checking this place out!!
Good solid meal, desserts were a big letdown in comparison
We went for drinks and apps before a show at the Hanover. The staff was cheerful, knowledgeable and friendly. They were aware of show times and moved quickly when needed. We even had a free dessert! We will be back!
The ambiance, perfect. Service, amazing. Drink decent. Food awful. Way over priced for under seasoned food. I got the short ribs, which was warm with cold, raw root veggies. Jack fruit way too spicy. The pork was minimal and cold. Will not be returning. Our waitress Melissa A. is a superstar!!!!! She was friendly and knowledgeable and needs a raise. Thank you Melissa!
Three of us tried this new worcester restaurant on Saturday, 2/1. We were greeted at the door by two pleasant hostesses and seated promptly as we had a reservation. It was hardly needed though; there were several empty tables. Perhaps the dinner rush had passed, because there was a show at the adjacent comedy club (very strategically located!). We had very good service from a friendly server. Our meals came within a reasonable time, and while everything was tasty, one of my dining partners thought that the portion she received did not quite match up with the price. The Oreo cookie ice cream pie laced with heath bars was decadent! I truly hope this new eatery in the basement of the former telegram and gazette building gets more business ( and possibly augment their portion sizes), but without designated parking or valet service, it might prove difficult.
Nice looking bar with great food. It is unfortunate that when I went there for dinner on a Saturday night they seemed to be understaffed. Service was slow but the most important omission in the service staff was a bartender that knew how to make a drink.
In a light snowfall we parked across from the Hanover Theatre, walked to Craft Table & Bar with friends we don't see enough, and enjoyed a terrific dinner in a very nice, very comfortable restaurant. When we were done we walked to the Hanover Theatre and saw a Broadway show. This is the type of night we have been waiting for in Worcester and we'll be enjoying for years to come. Great restaurant with terrific staff and exceptional food.
We had a party of 4. All enjoyed their meals. Service was excellent. And it was “free dessert Friday”! Very good experience!
The bartender was annoyed we were at her bar....the hostess had patchouli sprayed all over her and reeked. The menu was strange and the beer selection was really limited for a place called Craft.
Service was terrible & the food was not worth the money.
Ordered beer, forgotten about. Had to reorder. Nothing really jumped on the menu for me so ordered the burger, which was just ok. The other parties meals needed a pop of color. Short rib dish looked good, guess it's the best choice on menu per waitress. The plus side was nice spacious bathrooms and easy access to the comedy show afterwards. Probably wouldn't return.
Beautiful establishment located on the old T n G side of city hall. Good was fresh, great tasting with a solid blend of textures. Our server Ilasia was phenom as was the manager Will. Diamond in the rough. Everything from local beef n cheese charcuterie, to mouth-watering mussels, to bursting with flavor braised beef over root veggies. I wish they had better IPA n maybe whistle pig from VT. Place is spacious, pristine, and great for any occasion.
This was my first time there and I loved it. I had the short ribs over root vegetables. Nice place and great service. I will definitely go again.
Great food! The Jackfruit Tamales were incredible.
We loved this place! Food was really good, and the service was amazing. Highly recommend!
Fantastic dining experience. Wait time was lengthier than most restaurants but the food came out fresh and flavorful. Love the menu offerings and drink selection. A little on the pricey side but well worth it. Easily accessible and centrally located.
The food was amazing. The filet was huge and perfectly cooked. It wasn’t very busy when we went on a Friday night. Hopefully the word gets out about how good this place is.
Food was excellent! We will be back soon!
Wow, the food at this place is AWFUL - which is fine unless you're paying 15-30 dollars per plate to enjoy spitting food out. Needs a lot of work. Not going back. Regret the 100 bucks spent on bad food for date night :(
Slow service. Seemed overwhelmed.
It wasn’t too busy but the food and service were really great. I will definitely go back again.
Service was SO SLOW. Not worth the wait. We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation, and were told we'd have to wait, even though there were many open tables. Several parties arrived after us with reservations, and they had trouble seating us for some reason. They told other diners without reservations it was a 2 hour wait, even though tables were open. We were finally sat a few minutes after our reservation time, at a large round table for 6 in the dining room (we were party of 2, and had requested a hi-top near the bar), so it was a bit awkward. It took a while for our waitress to take our order. Tables next to us had been waiting for food and drink for a while and were complaining loudly. My soup came out without a spoon, and I had to request TWICE for a spoon. The food was decent, but while we were dining, we overheard a waitress griping about "can't wait for the night to be over". That, coupled with complaints from nearby diners, and our awkwardly large table, made the dining experience unpleasant. When our credit card slip came, they did not give us a pen and we had to ask for one. Overall, this seemed like amateur hour for a new restaurant on it's first day, yet this restaurant is not new. They can't seem to manage basic operations.
We made a reservation for 5:30 since going to a concert at 8. Finally got first round of drinks at 6:15, got 2 apps at 6:30 and by 7 still did not get our meals. We asked the waitress multiple times what was going on, she just kept saying oh I don’t know. She just kept blaming it on the bar. She barely came over to our table. Looked wicked understaffed. Manager at one point was just holding a plate of food looking around. Waitresses were just looking around at the tables. Customers were looking around for service. We were not the only customers this happened to. I drove down from Maine and met with my parents for the concert. Waste of time and money. Did not get compensated for anything. Really poor service and poor waitress attitude. Our waitress or manager didn’t help us.
Service was REALLY SLOW. It took 1 hr, 15 to receive Entrees. Three out of 4 entrees were UNDER cooked, with pork loin RAW inside. Portions were small for high prices. The only positive was the manager deleted raw pork off the check. Ambiance was nice but chef was slow in preparing our meals. FYI: We had a 6:00 Reservation & JUST made the 8:00 performance at Hanover Theatre (5 minute walk away)!
