The music played as background was much too loud. We asked that the volume be turned down but to no avail.
Service and staff were great. Friendly and accommodating. I was not impressed with my meal. The flavor of the collard greens was different than I expected so that could be me, however the blackened snapper I got was over cooked and flavorless. My husbands macaroni was pretty good. The drinks were good and had plenty of alcohol.
My husband and I went during restaurant week. The food was amazing. We are going back for sure! Our waiter, Victor, was excellent!!
Food delicious. Jacob was a great server!
Must enjoyable evening, have been there several times. Tempt yourself with the Mac & cheese, or a burger if desire lighter fare. The entire menu will direct one to culinary delights. Extensive wine list or test your bartender.
Great food and the service was on point. We ate at the bar and the bartenders were very friendly and whipped up some drinks for my wife based on her likes. Great team behind the bar!
As usual this is an above average restaurant. There is a problem with the bar which I have noticed a few times. It appears the wine pours are shorted as well as the cocktails.I’m not a drunk but when one pays an inflated fee for drinks and feel he/she are shorted then it becomes a problem. Will orsee beer in the future since that more difficult to short.
Lunch was enjoyable , food was excellent , service was very goo
Visiting from Greenville and wanted something close to Patriots Pt. Food was and service was top notch. Server was attentive, polite, knowledgeable, accommodating and funny. Will definitely be back when in Charleston again.
We were seated in the outside tent area which was good since the restaurant was very busy and crowded. Our waitress was nice but inattentive. Our appetizers were brought out extremely fast before we even got our drinks. When our meals were delivered they were just put on the table wherever they could fit since our appetizer plates were not cleared or removed by the girl bringing the entrees.
I was disappointed with the food, I expected better after seeing the restaurants rating on open table. I will not return there are too many other great restaurants in the area with much better food and service
Very different restaurant - be prepared to wait for great food!
Spent a lovely evening with friends at this gem of a restaurant during Charleston's Restaurant Week kickoff. The food was amazing! I'm so grateful we had an early reservation before they ran out of the Clams Rockefeller. What a superb dish!! We all were raving about the flavor profiles and our server was a joy. Thank you Courtney for reminding us once again why we love Charleston Restaurant Week. This was my first time at Crave, but it won't be my last!!!
Is diners at early lunch received knowing welcome. Server explained menus & wines with enthusiasm. Well worth listening. Soups and Mac & Cheese were just right & tasty. Return, absolutely, will try at dinner next.
Excellent all the way around!
Bread was stale; apple crisp dessert was soggy, too sweet and awful…expensive for what you get.
Outstanding waitress Julia sat outside very attentive. Checked on us a lot. Food could have come out all together but I understand the situation with servers and kitchen with the pandemic things can be challenging.
We went to brunch at 10:30 a.m., and the restaurant was not crowded at all. It did get busier as the morning went on, though. The service was stellar, and the food was good, but my mac & cheese was barely warm. (And they are know for their mac & cheese!) The prices were also a bit high, but portions were very generous.
We had reservations but were seated by front door. A little cold when door opened.
HOWEVER WE HAD FRIENDS VISITING AND DINNER WAS FABULOUS.
We were staying at the Homewood Suites almost next door to Crave and decided to give it a try. We found it be delicious and received great service from Courtney. We Enjoyed the macaroni and cheese and I had the cedar plank salmon which was very good. Definitely would recommend Crave to anyone looking for a nice friendly place to dine in this area.
It was an outstanding dining experience. The server was outstanding and the food was delicious.
Excellent experience, can’t wait to visit again!
My husband and I had our first date of the new year at Crave. We made reservations on open table which required a $25 deposit in case you don't show. Totally understandable.
Jacob was our waiter. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks. As an appetizer I was going to get the crab cakes. I appreciate his honesty and letting me know their crab cakes were heavily breaded. I opted to get the crispy Brussels sprouts which were absolutely AMAZING.😋 These were some of the best brussel sprouts I have ever had!
As an entree I had the scallops with risotto and string beans. String beans were a little bland but the entire meal came together very well.
My husband had the half fried chicken with collards which was good.
Great ambience and excellent for date night! What a great way to start off the new year!
As always the scallops with Boirsin was excellent and my husband lived the planked salmon!
Absolutely amazing food and service! Can’t wait to go back!
Excellent attentive service. Food was great!
This was on New Years Eve. We sat outside and asked for the fire pit to be turned on - this was done immediately. Our waiter (Greg I think) was excellent. He said he normally worked behind the bar but was helping out as it was so busy. He recommended a bottle of red wine which was excellent. We ordered crab cakes and mussels - fantastic. For the main course the short rib and the snapper were perfectly cooked. We asked for a to go box - Greg carefully transferred the food for us but we forgot to take it with us. We eat here a lot and are never disappointed. Thanks to Greg for great service.
Our family came in from Chicago for a few days of nicer weather (thank you for exceeding our expectations South Carolina) and we were looking for a nice NYE dinner. I read tons of reviews and while most enjoyed Crave, there were many who said the food wasn’t cooked well or that the portion sizes were too small…I don’t get the negative reviews.
We had two steaks that were done perfectly. The short ribs were amazing. The chicken marsala was delicious, and the she crab soup and mac and cheese was really very good. Service was awesome, the music was great and you could actually have a conversation over dinner without having to speak up to be heard over the background noise. Definitely recommend Crave.
Another great meal at Crave! Server was excellent and timely, especially during NYE!
The New Year’s menu was excellent and so much food. We did our best to eat everything. Pam, our server, was wonderful. The atmosphere was exactly what was expected, busy yet pleasant. Definitely coming back.
New Years Eve
We had a wonderful time! I know it was NYE - we did make a reservation- but it took a while for a waiter to greet us and take our drink orders. The food was delicious and we enjoyed our time. Slightly expensive for what we got - $7 for a side of grilled asparagus which was 2 pieces of asparagus cut in half to make 4 pieces.
Wonderful evening. The food outstanding. It's so nice to be able to sit at your table and not rub elbows with the table next to you. The servers very nice.
We go to crave regularly - seems lately the food is just average My daughter enjoyed her mussels and tuna my husband had steak and I had salad with steak both were nothing special. Our waiter never checked in with us after we got our food. Post dinner we sat for at least 15
Minutes with dirty plates in front of us Just not a great dining experience
Staff was friendly. Nothing special. It was loud and hard to hear conversation. Felt very quick. Get them in. Get them out.
More the way it is supposed to be. Staff did a nice job, so no complaints in that regard.
I’d compare this to a chain restaurant ( maybe it is)?
The "famous" Mac n cheese is good but not "life-changing" as the menu claims. I splurged and added scallops to my Mac n cheese for an additional $15. I was shocked when my meal arrived topped with TWO very small scallops. The whole experience was overpriced for mediocre food and service.
The Mac and cheese truly is life altering. Julia was our excellent server.
