Fantastic in every way, lovely place, great service, lovely friendly staff and brilliant food, especially vegetarian options. Live the vegetable Wellington. Thanks Carol for a lovely afternoon 😍
Very high quality food, maybe a little pricey but worth it. Delicious.
Early Saturday evening dining for four. Generally good. Comfortable seating, but in an empty Dining area we were put immediately by the entrance/exit corridor. Our order comprised a mix of a la Carte and Tapas dishes. Two Tapas dishes were not up to scratch and probably yesterday's in my opinion. We sent the Chorizo back before trying the Patatas Bravas and other dishes (five in total). On reflection, the Patatas Bravas should have been sent back too. Good beer and decent wine (Albarino) but not wholly impressed by the food.
very accommodating, prices on weekends are up there but well worth and there 2 courses deal during the week is so good value for money, i would recommend
Lovely venue with nice decor and service the food unfortunately let it down reason being it seemed very comichef e.g I had the fish and chips and all the consistency was soft no crunchy batter on the fish and the chips soft my sweet was also a pre manufactured dessert overall a total disappointment. I hope it improves as it's a lovely venue
We booked a table as part of a business meeting, and were very pleased we did!
The food selection was just what we were looking for, and our choices didn't disappoint.
We will be back.
We were both very happy with the food and everything. Service was excellent. Thank you
Rather than go out on Valentine’s Day we decided to go the day before. As it turned out we were the only ones eating so it was like millionaires dining. The food was very good and the service was spot on. Thoroughly enjoyed the night.
Very friendly staff and pleasant evening for my birthday.
Good menu choice good beer selection and nice atmosphere , will come again.
Waited 30 minutes to order our food, and we had to ask the waiter could he take our order. Apologised but no offer of a free drink or anything else complimentary, when you are dis satisfied with anything in a restaurant it’s the least that should be offered.
Thoroughly enjoyed the tapas - good size portions.
We loved the Aubergine & Honey.
Paella was excellent - very good all round.
Lovely place and very nice staff. Background music was perfect. Great choice on menu and the food was delicious. Couldn't fault it and will go again. Thanks for a lovely evening
Fantastic tapas and a great atmosphere. Will definitely return.
We enjoyed the atmosphere in both the bar and restaurant after our arrival. The restaurant has been refurbished tastefully and to a high standard.
Our order was taken fairly promptly and our drinks arrived soon after. Unfortunately the wine we’d ordered was placed on the table unopened and we were left to help ourselves. The tap water we’d ordered did not arrive until we had reminded the house manager which was after we had eaten our starters, which were really good.
The main courses were very disappointing. My gammon was well overcooked and it seemed that it had been kept warm for a period- very dry.
We really enjoyed it. We ordered our food and the manager came to explain that a large party had arrived a late and he apologised for us waiting longer than usual. We maybe waited a little longer than normal but following the explanation we were prepared and didn't mind at all.
Great to food and service would definitely recommend
Really enjoyed our evening. Food , ambiance, service, great
We arrived and were told that they couldnt connect to your system so they hadn't booked a table for us. We waited for over 1 and a half hours for our food to arrive. Not happy.
The refurbishment has been a real success. Our first visit was last Saturday. We were really impressed with the quality and value of the food, the friendliness and efficiency of the staff and the really nice restaurant atmosphere. We will certainly be returning.
Fantastic food service and such a lovely place, defo eat here again
Very friendly and nothing too much trouble
Beautiful place to eat and great food.
4 of us ate at the Cross Guns on Saturday night. It was a nice change from the terrible service before the new takeover.
We all enjoyed our food.
The only complaint is that even though the manager was present and the service was good there still wasn’t the organisation that is expected. We were brought the wrong drinks and the wrong desserts but all in all much better than previously
The place inside is really nice. The service was fantastic. The food was ok was not hot and meatball were dry
Food and service excellent, some external noise from the current roadworks, but not unduly bothersome and will have gone soon
Excellent food of high standard and fantastic service from our waitress Chelsea. The restaurant has recently changed hands and there is a new menu. We had a great night and will definitively be going back.
My husband and I went on bank holiday Monday for a meal as not been since it has been done up. We had great service from start to finish. We both had the 3 coarses for £15.95 and was delicious. We will definitely be back
The tapas was fabulous, the staff were extremely friendly and we had a very enjoyable time
There has been a new menu and some refurbishment since our last visit.
I like the new menu although I think that there should be a Sunday version available.
The glass firedoor in the restaurant has been boxed in to some extent with massive posts and what look like railway sleepers. This has greatly reduced the natural light, which is a great shame.
Nevertheless, its a lovely place for a meal and well worth a look.
Went to the opening night of the new tapas menu .... excellent service and range of tapas choices.... other food also available on the menu.
Spanish/ salsa music enhanced the Spanish feel. Now need to try the sangria!
Good value as they had a special offer on number of dishes for £16 or £25 dwpendingi;how many you ordered. We had beef stew, Patatas bravas, Gambas pil pil, paella, meatballs, selection of bread, salad, and small salad..... all very tasty.
Great service by waitress Chelsea !
We will be back.
May need to book as very popular on first night.
Well done team, a very successful opening night.
Poor choice of food menu since our last visit , was expecting restaurant quality food , was nothing more than pub food , bought a nice bottle of red wine and it was just opened and left on the table , didnt even ask if we would like to try it !! Left very disappointed considering it was an anniversary meal .
We have been to the Cross Guns on several occasions and enjoyed the food however on arrival we found they had changed the menus without informing us. I had told my guests to look at the menu beforehand to make sure it suited them. Unfortunately the food they were looking forward to wasn’t available. When questioned re this we were told that the restaurant was changing to a tapas and Was closing in three weeks time for this change to take place. Why then did they change the menu.
Will not get anymore business from us.
We had a lovely evening, food and service were excellent 😊
It is a beautiful restaurant and perfect for a special occasion. The staff are lovely and professional. There is disabled parking at the side and a ramp if required and a separate car park across the road.
Excellent food in comfortable and relaxed surroundings. Meals were plentiful and cooked to perfection. Waitress service was prompt and efficient and delivered with humour. The drinks were equally as nice and the bar staff equally affable. Our evening was perfectly finished off with a live singer who was also top drawer well done cross guns what an amazing evening!
I had been looking forward to having a meal at the Cross Guns. But was quite disappointed! Food was very average, quite expensive for what you received. Had to wait a while for service & drinks. Asked for water but it never arrived. Was too late after finishing meal to ask again. Shame because the restaurant & bar are very nicely decorated. Thank you
Lovely atmosphere, great food , wonderful service from friendly staff and good value for money, what more could you ask for !
Always enjoy dining here. The only drawback is the very young and inexperienced staff. I had to physically go and ask for sauces for the main course. They should have been offered at the time of serving. Also, there was no cranberry available.
The young girl who took the bill did not know how to use the card machine and another member of staff had to intervene. There was no acknowledgement that I had paid a tip. Its a shame because otherwise I'd rate the place very highly.
The food was excellent and so was the service. The almond and raspberry pie was particularly special. It was Easter Saturday and a beautiful day so the restaurant was a little quiet probably everyone was enjoying food at home. I highly recommend this Inn .
Good value pub food, previous menu more variable
