The food and service were excellent. The beers from Funkworks matched the meal terrifically. We were treated well. Can't wait to visit again.
One of the best meals, ever. The Thai sausage was deconstructed so that you had to make a bite of each of the ingredients together. It was amazing, for the taste and texture combination. Same for our dessert of curried carrot cheesecake. A mixture of flavors and textures that were so delicious I am still savoring the memory. Next time I’ll do the chef’s 7 course tasting meal.
We really enjoyed it and will be back.
Quite different for Asheville, not sure it will be more than a once a year trip as it is pretty much over the top. Excellent service, very nicely decorated, thoughtful touches and food was very good.
We’ve eaten here a few times. The cocktails are imaginative and delicious. This time we asked the bartender to make custom cocktails. We told him what we liked and the creations were amazing! The food is consistently delicious. We had the crab feast. It was spectacular!
Incredible food and overall experience.
Excellent! I highly recommend the ceviche, octopus and bread bowl! The food was creative and paired well with their drink list.
We visit a different restaurant in the Asheville area every Thursday. Saw a post on the chef, said next visit. There is nothing not excellent about this place. It is an example of the perfect evening. Over the top? Maybe...but not for us!
This might be the perfect restaurant. I’ve been dreaming of going back since our first visit.
Loved everything about cultura! Can’t wait for my next trip to Asheville so I can go back
Fun place to eat and drink, while still making incredibly delicious food. Inventive cocktails and amazing food. We loved the shared plates...fun for couples and groups. Wait staff was nice and attentive. Did I already say the food was amazing!
Very much a foodie experience. We had a large party and did the Baccanal meal. They brought bread, seafood, ceviche, platters of sausage, ribs and bird then a selection of salad and desserts. With the 65 dollar per person charge we received beer tasting and an aperitif. It was really cool, but the food is very gastronomic art and not simple. The best part of the experience was the CBD powdered cotton candy served with the bill. Definitely worth a visit! The bread was really yummy.
Wonderful experience! The ambiance was beautiful with one of a kind surprises. We ordered two feasts and they were both delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and plan to go again.
Our server was very knowledgeable and helped guide us through both beverage and food menu selections. Delicious food and wonderful ambiance! Definitely check out the bathrooms....
Amazing experience and highly recommend if in the area! Great wines to choose from and even better food
The food was pretty good. The server was sweet. They are not so accommodating to allergies and that made ordering and dinner very slow to get rolling and a bit harder than needed. Ok experience, but not so competitive when Asheville has so many great places to eat.
Hard to say anything negative about this great restaurant -- in fact impossible. In addition to the great food and inventive menu, the interior space shows a wonderful adaptive reuse of materials from the associated brewery. Service is very efficent, friendly, and informative about the menu choices. We will be back!
Our waiter was wonderful.. food was fabulous
Best. Meal. Ever.
I’ll be singing praises for a long time and be back soon!
Best part was talking with Chef Eric and sharing our love of Noma!
Knowledgable staff, great atomosphere (our party was seated in one of the barrels), excellent service and pleasant surprises.
Maybe my expectations were a little too high for this place because none of them were met with the exception of the atmosphere and overall style of the building.
We went for my partners birthday prior to a show at the Funkatorium. We wanted to try a variety of dishes so went the small plate route; our waitress explained that the bottom menu items were entree sized portions- so we ordered 3 small plates and 2 of the supposed entree portions. The food was not bad- I personally felt as though the dishes lacked creativity and innovation when considering the price point and portion size. When the waitress asked if we'd like to purchase dessert, we let her now that our show started in 20 minutes and we wouldn't have time for another course. She brought the check over and never returned to collect our payment- we waited at our table for 15 minutes and eventually went up to the bar to pay so we wouldn't be even more late to the show. Needless to say, we ended up going to get pizza after the show because neither of us felt the least bit full after dinner here.
First time coming here and was blown away!!! Incredible dinner and experience. Food rivals anything we’ve ever had in New York, Las Vegas, Atlanta or any other large foodie city.
Everything was deliciously paired, cooked and seasoned perfectly. Service was excellent without being overbearing.
Could not have been more impressed!
My date and I had an excellent time. The waitress took the time to explain the menu and their concept as well as some advice for how to approach it and the serving size. Ambiance was fantastic and the food was delicious. It was a tad on the pricey side for two people but overall very worthwhile.
Amazing experience!! Very different in a good way. Server went out of her way for a special beer request!! We will definitely return, with lots more people next time!!
This is probably the best restaurant in Asheville for a larger group
Had such high expectations as this restaurant came highly recommended. Unfortunately our chicken was partially uncooked and ribs were tough.
Thoroughly enjoyed Cultura. We had the AppleAtcha for a cocktail. Super yummy! Not to sweet. Thai style sausage with brioche was really tasty. We had two feats, the swiss fondue which was absolutely amazing. Every imaginable roast root vegetable to dip in the yummy yummy cheese. Then we had the birds. Quail, duck, cornish game hen, and turkey with dips and pickles, deviled duck eggs, and slaw. Lots of food and we ordered the small (for 2-4 people). Duck eggs were not to my taste but I have a feeling that was only me. Atmosphere was fantastic. Service was excellent!
Cultura has a wonderful space and Tony, our server, was outstanding. The food was quite good with reasonable portions for the small plates and the wine list was funky. It got loud once the room filled up but still a great atmosphere.
Portions were very small and costly . Had to order a pizza at home after dinner. Great tasting food but 80.00 for two small tapas and two glasses of wine. Please.!!!
Out reservation was at 8:45, we weren’t seated till 9:30 and we were seated in the corner next to the door isolated from the restaurant. A giant wine barrel next to us. And Unfortunately we were disappointed with the food, over cooked and salty. We would love to give it a second chance in the future!
Dana, I'm very sorry to hear that your first experience with Cultura wasn't up to par. We appreciate your feedback and would like to encourage you to come in and give us a second chance. Reach out to us before hand and we promise to provide you with a better atmosphere, better service, and better food.
This was a fantastic experience. More food than you need, but everything was so good you had to eat it. Visually and taste wise the experience was one to remember.
Overall a wonderful experience.
Found the wine menu not very user friendly.
Service was fantastic and the dining options are fun and unique.
We celebrated our Anniversary and the food and service were superb! The Swiss Chalet fondue was one of the best fondues we have ever had. Page was an excellent waitress and made our evening very special. They even whipped up a last minute appetizer to accommodate for my food allergies and the flavors brought me back to my childhood! I highly recommend this place. Totally worth it!
Everything was awesome!
New Years Eve dinner was a limited menu. Most of the food was pretty good but the service was slow and not great.
Very cool vibe. We went for New Years Eve and ordered off the select menu they offered for the occasion. Service was slow, the food was different (which we expected) but it wasn’t very good. We will try one more time because the feast options sounded and looked interesting.
Fondue was amazing. Great decor. Would recommend. Oooo
Our first visit to Cultura and we really enjoyed it from start to finish. 3 for dinner(with our adult son). We loved the concept of enjoying a generous amount of food, served table-center on platters; family style, but not...
we had cocktails, to start., then Brussels kraut and bacon salad, we shared “bucket of birds: smoked and fried “(for 2-4). My men ate it up and then more cocktails and dessert. No complaints on food, service or ambiance...great playlist, too. Great food, cooked perfectly, seasoned beautifully. we will return again A new favorite.
Next time I want to go with the small plates and entree.
Small plates were very good - Brussels sprouts salad and beets. “Feasts” (seafood and steak/potatoes) were more show than creative culinary cooking. Group of 8 ($800) for Grand menu - one lobster - steak for 2 - not a good value. Desserts were average. Would go back but only for small plates. Hopefully the concept changes. The food is without a theme or story - very difficult to understand the concept. Huge potential for beer/sour pairings - but in the end - some random sours were just placed on the table.
I made reservations at a friend’s recommendation for my family to celebrate my mom’s birthday and Cultura did not disappoint!! The food was utterly fantastic from start to finish. The waitstaff were all personable and professional. We were lucky enough to sit in one of the old wine casks which was both very cool and kept the meal private and quiet enough for good conversation. We can’t wait to go back!
