Currents at the Riverhouse
mama lil's peppers, parmesan, truffle oil, parsley
wedge of iceberg, tomato, bacon, blue cheese dressing, chives
Just ok, atleast we got a seat. The food here is ok never amazing never terrible
We found the currents restaurant at the riverhouse to be PERFECT in every way! They were accommodating to us , as our party changed from 3-5… they sat us at a table with a beautiful view of the river that was requested .. the service was impeccable , the food reasonably priced and delicious (the homemade strawberry preserves to die for!) We ate here twice for breakfast and once for dinner, while staying at the Riverhouse - and I will tell everyone I know , to do the same while in Bend! Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you !
The atmosphere is wonderful, dining the restaurant you can order off Currents menu or the lounge menu so there is plenty of variety. The view of the river is gorgeous and if it was a tad warmer I would have asked to sit outside.
Service was pleasant but maybe a tad inexperienced. Never got refills on our drinks and had to flag down a server to ask for the check. Overall I would of course to back but have patience if you dine here
It seemed that we were getting slim pickings. The waitress brought us a sample of the sweet potato, because we were worried it was going to be to hot. It was wonderful. Yet when our dinners came it was nothing like it at all. I mentioned it to our waitress and it was explained that it was getting towards the end of the night, yet our reservation was at 6:15. She also brought us some extra turkey meat because there was hardly any meat on the plate. Overall was not a good experience, neither for the price or the service. We had constantly wait for water and just basic routine service.
Beautiful restaurant, great views, service was lovely and the good was the best! Only issue: portions a bit on the smaller side, especially for the price.
Thanksgiving dinner. The absolute worst food that I may have ever paid for.
Small portions on basic things like mashed potatoes, undercooked, hard green beans, a very small amount of gravy, overcooked barely warm Brussel sprouts, hard rolls, and TINY slices of pie with 1 teaspoon or maybe 1/2 teaspoon of whipping cream.
Just the worst dinner.
Rushed and impersonal service.
Unusually Small portions of food at Thanksgiving.
It was like a dinner at a Sharis or a Denny’s Restaurant at 3 times the price. Very disappointed
The pre fixe Thanksgiving dinner was lovely. Our server was attentive but not hovering! The restaurant was busy, but quiet. We really enjoyed our relaxing meal by the river!
Been here several times. Service quite slow, likely due to short staffing. Food & coffee barely warm. Nice & pleasant server.
Wonderful service and food!
There was a hair in my burger and it was very dry. I felt the tomato bisque was bland and just overall not spectacular
Definitely lived up to previous experiences. Recommend short adults start requesting comfort cushions to bring their to a more manageable level. Not fond of plate at shoulder height.
We consider Currents the best steakhouse in Bend. We definitely enjoyed the experience.
Tasty food, but limited menu. Just check before going. But such a cute vibe and amazing service! Love that they support local as well! Would definitely recommend but if you have restrictions, just check menu first.
Food was ok. Expected better based on reviews.
This place is just ok. The tables seemed kind of close together. The service was a roller coaster ride - at times it felt like the waitress was stopping by every 5 minutes, but it took a long time for her to bring our drinks. Also, she offered dessert to the table behind us, but did not ask if we wanted to hear the dessert options. (I probably would have ordered some if she had.)
In terms of food, the cheeseboard was a bit underwhelming. I ordered the chorizo pasta - by the time it was served, the sauce had cooled a lot, so it wasn't warm enough and kind of bland.
I'm learning to adjust my expectations around service in this "new normal" where businesses are desperately under-staffed, but the cold food and the dessert snub could have been avoided...
My waitress was exceptional - offering incredible service that made experience a special one. View of river is wonderful. Best wedge salad I've ever had!
Enjoy their breakfast menu much more than the dinner menu - dinner is well overpriced for the quality and flavors of food. Gorgeous river view and good staff help improve the overall experience.
The Idaho trout was excellent—we really enjoyed it!
I totally understand about being short handed. So we were patient about the service. We arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation and the hostess said they were running 10 minutes late. So we had a seat in the waiting area. After waiting for 20 minutes past our reservation time and saw she was seating other people we asked to be seated also. She did so but didn’t tell the server she seated us. So we waited another 15 minutes before she even greeted us. She very apologetic and was a darling server.
Enjoyed our meal and had an excellent server. Menu is limited and priced moderately high
We frequent Currents not only for fine food and service but we love the familiarity and the hospitality. We would recommend Currents to anyone.
We had a lovely breakfast and the wait staff were efficient and friendly.
We will be back.
I went into Currents with a positive mindset, but that was quickly diminished by the measly menu items and the poor quality of the food. The only entree on the menu was the Italian Sub, so that was what my boyfriend and I ordered. I could buy a sandwich from Subway or Safeway for far less and it would taste better than the stale bread they used.
Standard, no frills hotel fare. Decent food. Staff were very nice.
Quick service, fantastic outdoor ambiance, solid food, good cocktails
Beautiful location by the river, nice outdoor dining. The service was pretty slow and they forgot to bring our drink orders until well after our meals came out. But overall nice experience.
Short staffed. Significant delay after reservation time. The chicken needed seasoning. Great location.
Service was great but food way below average. We chose it primarily for the location with outside seating along the River. They were not allowing outside dining. They did give us a nice quiet table next to window and staff were very nice. But food was really disappointing particularly as it was rather expensive. We don’t at all mind paying for a nice meal but this was not. I do not recommend for dinner.
Food was good and staff was friendly. Little bit of a wait but they were busy.
Always love this place. We come a couple times a month and great every time.
VERY GOOD FOOD AND AMBIANCE, WILL RETURN FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS
Currents is a lovely place for breakfast. Quiet with patio by the river or inside seating with floor to ceiling windows looking onto the patio and canyon.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Very pretty location. Brunch food was excellent. Service was friendly , competent, but a little slow. ( they warned us they were short handed)
Our reservation was at 9:45am for breakfast. There were only a few other guests in the restaurant. We waited 45minutes before the server ever brought out drinks. Once she brought the coffee there was no sugar. I had to go inside to the bar to retrieve it because she never came back out to our table. I stood at the bar for 10 minutes before the bartender ever even made eye contact but she saw me standing and waiting. The bar wasn’t busy at all. It was 10:30am. She was “ busy” wiping off the counters and avoided coming over. Another employee saw me waiting and asked me what I needed (the sugar). We waited a total of 1hr a nd 15 min for our food. The bacon was soggy and the rest was just okay. Very overpriced for the lack of service and quality of food. But the view of the river is 5 stars!!
Joey was great! More support staff would help him a lot.
Food was delicious!
Cocktails: please upgrade your bar to more high end vermouths and cherries like - Carpano Antiqua vermouth & Luxardo cherries for example.
Please train all serve staff to know the names of the meats and cheeses placed on the charcuterie board. Also knowing WHY those were chosen would enhance the moment. Consider selecting the offerings based on the cocktails/wines chosen to drink with the meal.
Loudness: very loud with the scrabble games going on. Consider ending games by dinner time.
Wonderful service! Great food. We had the wedge salad and Idaho trout; both were excellent. We would definitely order again.
We sat in the dining room indoors. The floor under our table was filthy and sticky.
There were flies buzzing our table and when we asked for something to swat them with, it was like deer in the head light. Paying $55 for a steak in a diner atmosphere
was very disappointing at best. Probably won't go there again.
